Time Travel: The Best Doctor in Ancient Times

Chapter 219: Chapter 128: Mother and Son Go to Battle Chapter 219: Chapter 128: Mother and Son Go to Battle Memories vividly flashed before her eyes, and as soon as Gu Changsheng made her statement, everyone in the family began to itch to try their luck.

The most eager among them was the little rascal, Gu Ze.

“Mom, I want to go with you on a house robbery!” he demanded with an intense and scheming desire.

Gu Changsheng looked back at him with utter disdain, “Wait until you’re weaned.”

What a little troublemaker! He chose not to learn any of the good things from her but was keen on the riffraff stuff, which was rather headache-inducing when she thought about it.

“Then I won’t drink goat milk tomorrow!” Little Meat Bun insisted stubbornly.

“No, you’re still too young; education is crucial. I may not expect you to bring glory to the family, but at the very least, I’m counting on you for my elder care in the future. If you don’t study well and end up committing crimes and getting thrown into prison, wouldn’t all my time raising you be wasted? This completely goes against the return on investment, so just stay home and be good, okay?” Gu Changsheng said, while patting the two little buns atop her son’s head as if to soothe a pet.

Without that nuisance around his neck, the Little Meat Bun became even more adorably chubby, irresistibly cute!

“Peacock Master, look at my mom, she’s like this again…” With large teardrop-shaped eyes brimming with tears, Little Meat Bun decided to take an indirect approach to his salvation!

His mother was too tough to deal with, so it’d be easier to work on his master.

Sure enough, as soon as Yue Xilou saw his pitiful little abandoned look, his heart melted into a spring pond, “Why not take him along?”

Upon hearing this, Gu Changsheng was immediately filled with resentment, pointing a long finger at Xilou with a tiny flame of anger sputtering in her phoenix eyes, “Flower Peacock, what on earth are you planning? He’s so young, and you’re already filling his head with all that nonsense, and you don’t forget to involve him in bad deeds. What are you trying to do? Corrupt him from an early age?”

She still remembered how Yue Xilou, that moulting dead peacock, dared to indulge her precious son in such nonsense!

Her son was so little; was it really necessary to teach him how to pick up girls so early?

Caught red-handed, Xilou touched his nose guiltily. Indeed, it was his fault, “I just saw him looking so pitiful with those teary eyes…”

Little Meat Bun nodded vigorously, feeling utterly pitiful for being abandoned by his mother!

Gu Changsheng instantly felt a failure as a parent, letting out several sighs, “You all pamper him too much, spoiling and indulging his every whim. How is this going to work out? He’ll turn into a spoiled rich brat!”

Imagining her adorable son growing up to be an arrogant and commanding rich brat, Gu Changsheng thought the picture was too beautiful; she dared not look directly at it!

As she glanced over at Xiao Cui and Dong Lei, Gu Changsheng felt that if things continued this way, the coming of such days seemed all too logical.

She gazed off into the distance, filled with sorrow…

“Mom, please take me with you…” Little Meat Bun whined, tugging on Gu Changsheng’s hem and swaying it back and forth, his voice making several melodious twists.

“Take you for what? What could you possibly do?” Gu Changsheng looked at him unimpressed, “Behave, wait until you’re bigger and can cause trouble on your own. Mom definitely won’t be the one to take the fall for leading you astray!”

“Mom, I’ve learned some really cool things from my master. I could keep a lookout for you!” An idea struck Little Meat Bun, his excitement growing, “I’m really useful, you know. I can see very far and run very fast. I’m also very small, so I won’t draw attention. Please, mom, take me with you…”

Feeling dizzy from her son’s shaking, Gu Changsheng was surprised, “You sure know how to use your own advantages!”

Alright, her son did have excellent vision and was indeed very small, she couldn’t deny that.

But if she really took him with her, what would Uncle Song say when he got back? She felt torn…

“How about this, I’ll keep him by my side and make sure he doesn’t cause any troubles,” Yue Xilou interjected, seizing the moment as he saw Gu Changsheng wavering.

“If Uncle Song comes back and asks about this, you all remember what to say, alright? It was Flower Peacock, the master, who led my son astray, not me failing in education as a mother! Got it?” Gu Changsheng said, no longer feeling unsure, as she pointed at those present, one by one, seeking their confirmation. It was a matter concerning her peace of mind, after all!

Little Meat Bun looked hopefully at the people present as his mom pointed them out, those watery eyes enough to melt anyone’s heart…

Han Qiu, Xiao Cui, and Dong Lei exchanged glances, feeling suddenly powerless.
