World of Superpowers: Kill monsters to explode skills

53: killing squareA door appeared on the right side of Shi Yan’s settlement space; in fact, that door had appeared the moment the settlement ended.

Looking at the ordinary-looking door, Shi Yan understood that behind it was probably the ”Slaughter Plaza” that had been mentioned during the settlement.

Shi Yan walked up to the door, and a panel popped up, blocking the entrance.

”Do you want to conceal your image?”

Below this text were various appearances for players to choose from.

Shi Yan chose not to conceal his image.

The panel slowly dissipated, no longer blocking the door.

He gently gripped the doorknob, twisted it down, pulled it inward, and the door slowly opened.

Outside the door was a street with many people, but most of them had their faces covered by a black mist; occasionally, a few people who hadn’t concealed themselves could be seen.

Standing at the doorway, looking through the bustling crowd, he could even see a shop called ”I Love Cake” across the street.

The sky outside the door was blood red.

Shi Yan took a step forward, out of the door. The surrounding streets were interconnected, and a map was constantly suspended in the lower-left corner of Shi Yan’s vision.

The streets were filled with various shops.

Shi Yan tried to use skills on the passersby, but found that no skills could be used, including those in the ability panel.

No levels could be seen above the heads of any of the surrounding passersby, as if they were just ordinary people who looked a bit strange.

Shi Yan raised his hand and reached out to a man whose face was covered by black mist, who was walking by on his right. A red light shield appeared around the man.

”Please do not actively touch others without their consent.”

A blood-red flashing prompt appeared before Shi Yan’s eyes, with a ten-second countdown below it.

The man stopped, looked at Shi Yan with an expression as if he were looking at an idiot, and then continued walking without saying anything.

A hint of understanding flashed in Shi Yan’s eyes.

Shi Yan walked casually along the street. There were many shops around him. Shi Yan pushed open the door and walked into a shop called ”Soul Cup Drinks.”

Inside the shop, at the very back, there was a counter. Behind the counter stood a short Girl with a single ponytail, a smile on her face, and a delicate appearance.

”Welcome, what would you like to drink? The prices and product list are all here.”

The short Girl’s voice was clear and pleasant. She pointed to a projection in front of the counter, which displayed the names of various drinks.

Shi Yan randomly bought a juice called ”Glacier Fruit Tea” and curiously asked the short Girl, ”How did you open a shop here?”

The short Girl understood what Shi Yan was asking. While preparing the fruit tea with a pile of tools, she explained to Shi Yan, ”We all have special skills and have passed the assessment of Slaughter Paradise, which is why we can open shops in Slaughter Plaza.”

”Don’t you need to enter dungeons?”

Shi Yan watched the Girl make the fruit tea while asking.

”Our dungeons are different from yours; they are relatively less dangerous.”

The Girl smiled sweetly and handed the fruit tea to Shi Yan.

A prompt appeared before Shi Yan.

”All shops in Slaughter Plaza are uniformly supervised by Slaughter Paradise to ensure and maintain the personal safety of all players.”

Shi Yan nodded after seeing the prompt. With Slaughter Paradise’s supervision, these products should be fine; otherwise, he wouldn’t have dared to drink them.

Shi Yan looked at the fruit tea in his hand.

”Glacier Fruit Tea: After drinking, it can refresh your mind and relax your mood.”

Shi Yan picked it up and took a sip. A cold current flowed into his mouth, sweet and sour with a hint of bitterness. Then, as he swallowed, he could clearly feel a cold current flowing down his throat and esophagus, followed by a gentle coolness spreading throughout his body, making him feel even clearer.

Shi Yan raised an eyebrow. This fruit tea tasted surprisingly good, and its refreshing effect was also excellent.

Shopping in Slaughter Plaza required slaughter points. The moment Shi Yan took the fruit tea, the slaughter points had already been deducted.

After drinking, Shi Yan turned and walked out of the shop, opened his system panel, and selected the arena option.

”Please enter your alias.”

Shi Yan entered the name ”Cold Moon.”

”Tier 1 Arena”

”Your Ranking: None”

”Tier 1 Leaderboard”

”First Place: Treeman”

”Second Place: Su”

”Third Place: 0101”

Shi Yan was initially confused, but then a surge of information immediately entered his mind.

Tier 1 refers to players between Lv10 and Lv20; these players are all considered Tier 1.

After killing an enemy in the arena, one can directly obtain the opponent’s ranking. Death in the arena does not mean true death, and the higher the ranking, the higher the reward.

”I wonder if killing here will have...”

A strange smile appeared on Shi Yan’s face.

Thinking of this, Shi Yan immediately clicked to join the arena. Instantly, his vision went black, and when he opened his eyes again, he was already on a flat plain made of yellow earth.

Shi Yan raised his hand and clenched his fist, feeling that all his skills and abilities had returned.

He turned his head and scanned the surroundings. The entire flat ground was about the size of a football field, with a row of tall walls erected all around. Above the walls was a layer of blood-colored protective shield.

Behind the protective shield were rows of seats, but at this moment, there was no one in those seats.

Shi Yan stood on the left side of the yellow earth plain, while a short-haired man stood on the right.

The man had ”Lv15” above his head, constantly twirling a butterfly knife in his left hand, and a wicked smile on his face as he quickly walked towards Shi Yan.

”How do you want to die?”

The man’s smile grew more wicked and perverted. He had suffered too much injustice in the dungeon and could only come to the arena to relieve his mood by torturing these newcomers.

Upon hearing the words, Shi Yan slowly withdrew his gaze from scanning the surroundings, as if only just noticing the man, and looked at him.

”A mere Level 13, and you dare to look down on me?!”

The man saw Shi Yan’s continuously expressionless face and felt that he was being underestimated.

”I’m going to cut out your eyes first, and then make you eat them little by little.”

The smile on the man’s face slowly disappeared, and the butterfly knife in his hand stopped spinning. His sensitive inner self instantly erupted, a few bloodshot veins appeared in his eyes, and with a ferocious expression, he charged towards Shi Yan.

The man hadn’t charged many steps when a sharp, dark brown vine suddenly extended from between his legs, carrying a fierce whooshing sound as it pierced towards the man’s crotch.

”Ah!”

The man’s eyes bulged, and he let out a shrill scream, looking extremely miserable.

The vine paid no mind to the man’s distress. Its sharp end continuously pierced and penetrated, finally emerging from the man’s wide-open mouth.

The man’s charging figure stopped, as he was directly impaled through.
