Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1808: Chapter 1095: Path of Spirit Giving

”Indeed, one should never underestimate the people of the world!”

Inside the Longevity Hall, Yang Zhenshan couldn’t help but utter a sigh.

He had just received the news; Wanhua Demon Emperor, the Tree-man Army—such results were greatly beyond his expectations.

Initially, he thought the Wanhua Demon Court could hold out for some time, but just as the Unpredictable Ghost Sect began to take action, the Wanhua Demon Court crumbled first, with a massive escape of the Demon Clan.

Then he thought the Unpredictable Ghost Sect would soon conquer the Wanhua Mountain Range, but the Wanhua Demon Emperor showed formidable might, summoning tens of thousands of Tree-man Army to repel the Unpredictable Ghost Sect.

The rapid changes in the situation caught him completely off guard.

”But this is better; with the presence of the Wanhua Demon Court, the Unpredictable Ghost Sect cannot expand wantonly, allowing us small forces a chance to survive in the gaps!”

Yang Zhenshan mused with some emotion and helplessness.

Faced with forces like the Unpredictable Ghost Sect and the Wanhua Demon Court, the newly established White Jade City was just a small force, forced to silently develop in the gaps.

”The elixirs are almost refined; the next step is to enhance the grade of the Soul Suppressing Tower!”

Yang Zhenshan reached out his hand, and the Seven Treasures Soul Suppressing Tower appeared in his palm.

The two-foot-long tower slowly rotated in his palm, emitting a subtle Dao Rhyme.

The Seven Treasures Soul Suppressing Tower was his most important spiritual artifact; even though Yang Zhenshan had reached the Golden Core Middle Stage in cultivation, the Seven Treasures Soul Suppressing Tower was still irreplaceable to him.

He had always wanted to enhance the grade of the Seven Treasures Soul Suppressing Tower, elevating it to the level of a Spiritual Artifact.

Unfortunately, he simply couldn’t spare the time and effort.

Now he could finally spare some time, and coincidentally, he had refined some Dao Spirit Potion, which could be used to enhance the spirituality of the Seven Treasures Soul Suppressing Tower.

With this in mind, Yang Zhenshan entered the quiet chamber and began nurturing the artifact spirit of the Seven Treasures Soul Suppressing Tower.

...

Demon Ruins.

Like a dream, by the Flower Mirror Lake, Chi Huang Phoenix Venerable Li Zhuo was clad in a fiery red feather robe, with a small tuft of flaming Lingyu on her forehead, and flame runes filled with Dao Rhyme painted on her cheeks.

She stood quietly in front of the Wanhua Demon Emperor, her expression extremely solemn.

”Su Mei ran away?”

”Yes, she’s hiding, and even I don’t know where she’s gone.”

”Truly heartless, she’s let down my expectations of her!” The Demon Emperor had a sinister smile, seemingly indifferent, spoke of disappointment, yet showed no sign of disappointment on his face.

Li Zhuo looked at him, ”What exactly are you planning to do?”

”Do you also want to hide?” The Demon Emperor’s intricate eyes were filled with a coldness that made one dare not look directly.

”If you continue like this, I might leave you too!” Li Zhuo said.

The Demon Emperor fell silent, his brows that had been relaxed now slightly frowning.

After a long time, he said, ”I understand, you can come here anytime, and those few Demon Kings, you can bring them to see me too!”

He understood Li Zhuo’s meaning; previously, he didn’t care about the Wanhua Demon Court because he didn’t want to waste time on meaningless matters; with that time, he might as well cultivate more Exquisite Jade Trees.

But now he needed the Demon Clan; the strength of the Linglong Tree People was formidable, many of them had powers comparable to a Demon King, but the Tree People had a fatal flaw—their wisdom was not high, akin to ignorant children.

They were obedient and willing to charge into battle for him, but they were not skilled at thinking and certainly not at managing this vast Wanhua Mountain Range.

So he needed the Demon Clan to help him control the Wanhua Mountain Range.

Losing the Qingyuan Fox Clan, he could accept.

But if he were to lose the Chi Huang Clan too, then indeed he would have no one to use.

”You should have done this earlier!” Li Zhuo said lightly.

The Demon Emperor shrugged, ”You should understand, I, the emperor, do not care about these.”

”But you need them!” Li Zhuo replied.

”Fine, arrange it as you see fit, I have only one request, guard the central region of the Wanhua Mountain Range and don’t let those evils enter.”

”This requires the help of your Tree People!” Li Zhuo said.

”Rest assured, I will place some Tree People outside; if those evils dare to come again, they will certainly take action!”

Only then did Li Zhuo nod, ”That’s for the best!”

The Demon Emperor then took out a jade slip, ”I need you to do something!”

”What is it?”

”Spread the Spiritual Awakening Technique throughout the entire Wanhua Domain!”

”Spiritual Awakening Technique?” Li Zhuo took the jade slip, her spiritual sense penetrating inside to see its content.

The Spiritual Awakening Method—focus on ’guiding’, not ’pouring’; focus on ’bonding’, not ’forcing’. Using one’s spirit as a guide, like a stream entering a valley, flowing with the tendency, not opposing its nature; using one’s will as a bond, like bells and drums harmonizing, responding in the same voice, not violating its emotion.

In harmony with the spirit, as fish in water, the spirit does not leave me, and I do not leave the spirit, this is the essence of commanding all spirits.

At the ultimate state, spirit and self unite, objects and self are forgotten.

Thus, it’s not me giving spirit to objects, but objects and I sharing the spirit, this is the ultimate path of Spiritual Awakening.

...

Looking at the content, Li Zhuo felt somewhat puzzled.

This is the cultivation technique of Immortal Cultivators, not the cultivation technique of the Demon Clan. Of course, the Demon Clan can cultivate it, but it’s extremely difficult.

”Why spread such a cultivation technique?” Li Zhuo asked bewildered.

”To spread the Dao across the world!” said the Demon Emperor.

Li Zhuo was still puzzled, as she did not know the two ways of the struggle for power, nor did she know that spreading the Dao could also gain a seat of authority.

The Path of Spirit Giving had actually long existed; it was not a new path created by the Demon Emperor, but this was not important, for no Taoist Master had ever cultivated the Path of Spirit Giving from ancient times to the present.
