Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1694: Chapter 1035: Returning to the Spear Dao

”Yes.” Yang Zhenshan performed a flourish with the spear, nodding in satisfaction.

This Thunder Fire Spear was tailored specifically for him. Not only does it allow him to better harness Wood Divine Thunder and True Sun Fire, but it also enhances his Devouring Spirit Body’s combat power.

The reason why Yang Jizhen designed the Thunder Fire Spear to extend up to twelve zhang is because when Yang Zhenshan performs the Devouring Spirit Body technique, his size increases dozens of times.

In the past, the Devouring Spirit Body was of little use to Yang Zhenshan, because size increase during a battle would not elevate combat power, and on the contrary, it could impact agility negatively if he became too large.

The main benefit of Devouring Spirit Body previously was to replenish mana for Yang Zhenshan. When mana was excessively depleted, Yang Zhenshan could execute the Devouring Spirit Body to forcibly absorb the spiritual energy of the Spirit Source Land to replenish his own mana.

Now that Yang Zhenshan has this Thunder Fire Spear, he can coordinate with the Devouring Spirit Body for close combat suppression.

”Thank you for your hard work!” Yang Zhenshan appreciatively stored away the Thunder Fire Spear and patted Yang Jizhen on the shoulder.

”It was nothing, haha, with this experience, I can next attempt to craft my own spiritual artifacts!” Yang Jizhen said with a face full of excitement.

The Thunder Fire Spear was based on a trident for modification, though the process was similar to crafting a new spiritual artifact, after all, it was a modification and not something Yang Jizhen refined from scratch according to his own designs.

With the experience of modifying the Thunder Fire Spear, Yang Jizhen gained a lot of confidence in crafting spiritual artifacts.

”Hahaha, good, whatever minerals you need, feel free to use from my treasury!” Yang Zhenshan said joyfully.

”Really?” Yang Jizhen asked in surprise and delight.

”Of course!” Yang Zhenshan affirmed.

”Hehe, then I won’t hold back!” Yang Jizhen rubbed his hands, itching with impatience.

Yang Zhenshan nodded slightly, ”Go then!”

Compared to the established Golden Core powers, his treasury seemed rather shabby, but compared to Foundation Establishment forces, Yang Zhenshan could be considered wealthy now.

Especially since in recent years, True Yang Immortal City had allocated quite a bit of minerals to him, most of which were third-stage spiritual objects suitable for crafting spiritual artifacts.

The only downside was that most of the third-stage spiritual objects produced by Sun Giant Mountain were fire-attributed, with few of other attributes.

And since Yang Zhenshan himself couldn’t refine artifacts and there were no other outstanding artifact refiners at Spirit Source Land, it was better for Yang Jizhen to practice with these spiritual objects rather than letting them gather dust in the treasury.

After acquiring the Thunder Fire Spear, Yang Zhenshan picked up the spear skills he had once abandoned.

In the north of Spirit Source Land, Yang Zhenshan found a mountain forest to serve as his martial arts training ground.

Yang Zhenshan stood atop Broken Cloud Cliff, and when the Thunder Fire Spear was thrust into the ground, the Mystical Iron spear shaft triggered the Nine Heavens Thunder Cloud. He made a hand seal with his fingers, and the copper bell at the spear’s tail suddenly rang, its sound traveling thirty li, causing the Cloud Sea below the cliff to churn like boiling water.

”Thunder Fire Burns the Heaven” was initiated, his toes touched the ground, and his whole body rose with the spear shaft. Green Thunder erupted violently from the spear tip, forming a ten-zhang Thunder Dragon spiraling around the spear, while golden flames gushed from the blood groove, condensing into the silhouette of a Three-legged Golden Crow.

As the spear tip traced an arc, the Thunder Dragon and Golden Crow clashed, causing a shower of cyan-gold sparks everywhere. Each spark that hit the ground exploded into a half-zhang deep scorched pit.

”Green Lightning Locks the Mountains”

His arms spread wide like eagle wings, the spear shaft displayed a taut line. Green Thunder climbed along the spear shaft to the heavens, weaving a giant net in the clouds. Meanwhile, golden flames spread along the cliff walls, heating hundred-zhang layers of mountain rock to a crimson red. With the tremor of the spear tip, dozens of Green Thunder fell from the net precisely at the edges of the flame waves, blowing rocks wrapped in golden fire onto the sky.

”Purple Mansion Meteor”

Attracting Golden Core magical power into the long spear, the spear head’s Green Thunder shrank swiftly into an inch-long thunder core, but the golden flames surged into a towering twenty-zhang fire pillar. A thrust was executed, and the thunder core soared through the air, triggering the detonation of the fire pillar, transforming into a sky-spanning cyan-gold Fire Dragon. As it swept past, the thousand-zhang peak across from the cliff was severed into two, with the cross-section still sizzling with thunder fire.

In the next instant, his body suddenly rose over ten zhang, and the Thunder Fire Spear in his hand elongated to over ten zhang, the spear shaft thick like an ancient pine. Golden flames erupted fiercely from the blood groove, no longer mere flames but extended into a billowing wave of flames over a zhang wide. As the spear tip swayed, even the air was warping with a crackling sound.

He swung the spear horizontally, and the over ten zhang-long spear shaft swept up Green Thunder and golden flames, smashing the remaining half of the mountain next to Broken Cloud Cliff in half. Amidst the flying rubble, Green Thunder formed into a lightning prison in mid-air, while the golden flames became a river of fire upon terrain contact. At the collision of these forces, an azure-gold thunder fire vortex emerged, shredding all the spiritual energy within a hundred-zhang radius.

The giant shadow held the spear straight up to the sky. The spear tip’s Green Thunder suddenly collapsed into a zhang-long thunder spear; the golden flames at the spear tail surged inversely, forming a physical Three-legged Golden Crow at the end of the spear shaft. With a single thrust, the thunder spear pierced through the clouds, the Golden Crow trailed with fire, exploding into a cyan-golden light column through the firmament, causing the spirit veins hundreds of li away to tremble in unison.

Upon landing, his massive foot crushed half of the cliff wall, yet he remained oblivious, merely grinning softly at the Thunder Fire swirling around the spear tip.

”Hahaha, this move shall be called Thunder Fire Break Void!”

He could feel that if he had used a bit more strength just now, the thunder spear and Golden Crow would have torn the void open, creating a Void Rift.

Such powerful attack capability even made him find it somewhat incredible.

Of course, this was normal, considering Yang Zhenshan had just wielded both Wood Divine Thunder and True Sun Fire. These two special energies mixed together, releasing a power far greater than the sum of their parts.

However, the Thunder Fire Spear was not without flaws, or more accurately, it wasn’t the spear’s flaw, but Yang Zhenshan’s own.
