Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1505 - 940: Counterattack (Part 3)

Faced with such a situation, chaos erupted within Xianling City.

This was mainly because too many forces had gathered within Xianling City at this time.

There were the disciples of the Nether Prison Sect, the subordinate families of the Nether Prison Sect, as well as the local forces of Xianling City.

All these people had their own thoughts.

The disciples of the Nether Prison Sect naturally wanted to support the defeated remnants, while those families from afar did not wish to participate in the war, seeing the Nether Prison Sect defeated, they naturally did not want to court death.

The local forces of Xianling City, on the other hand, wanted to defend the city, as their roots were here.

The three factions each had their own ideas, and unable to forge a common consensus, could only watch as the Xuanqing Sect’s army left Xianling City.

On the second day, the remnants of the Nether Prison Sect encountered the army of the Xuanqing Sect, 400 miles west of Xianling City.

The army was defeated, morale was low, how could they withstand the Xuanqing Sect’s army?

As soon as the battle commenced, the remnants of the Nether Prison Sect collapsed once again, with the defeated troops scattered and fleeing in all directions.

Sheng Youhuang was not among these remnants, so within two hours, the Xuanqing Sect’s army had dispersed this group of defeated soldiers.

Thus, the once-imposing army of the Nether Prison Sect was thoroughly scattered.

In the following days, the right-wing armies of the Xuanqing Sect and Illusion Moon Sect reported continuous victories; upon learning of the Nether Prison Sect’s army’s defeat, the Illusion Moon Sect, now free of worries, charged south along the Yi River for over two thousand miles.

Meanwhile, the Xuanqing Sect united with the family army and captured Xianling City.

...

Wuxiang City, within the Four-direction Hall.

Jian Changhe sat in the main seat, with everyone gathered in the hall.

”Counterattack, we must counterattack, we should strike into the heart of the Nether Prison Sect!” Yang Zhenshan naturally did not want to miss such a great opportunity.

If the Nether Prison Sect could reach out, they too could push forward.

Jian Guyun furrowed his brows and said, ”Wouldn’t this push the Nether Prison Sect to a desperate state? Don’t forget that the Nether Prison Sect still has two Divine Soul Realm Martial Artists!”

Although they used the power of the Green Gold Sword to slay Li Xuanxiao, the Nether Prison Sect still had Wang Henglie and Sheng Youhuang.

The cost of using the Green Gold Sword was significant, and Jian Changhe had yet to recover.

In such circumstances, if the Nether Prison Sect were pushed to desperation, Jian Changhe estimated he would have to fight desperately to cope.

Jian Guyun looked at Jian Changhe, worry evident in his eyes.

Jian Changhe’s eyes lowered slightly, asking, ”Does Elder Yang intend to swallow the Nether Prison Sect?”

Yang Zhenshan was stunned, looking at him strangely, ”Can Hidden Sword Mountain swallow the Nether Prison Sect?”

”No!” Jian Changhe replied.

”That’s right, we cannot swallow the Nether Prison Sect!” Yang Zhenshan said.

Even if they could kill Wang Henglie and Sheng Youhuang, Hidden Sword Mountain could not swallow the Nether Prison Sect. It involved more than just the conflict between Hidden Sword Mountain and the Nether Prison Sect but also entangled many other forces.

White Cloud Immortal City could allow the Nether Prison Sect to swallow the Sea of Spirit, but would not let Hidden Sword Mountain swallow the Nether Prison Sect.

The reason is simple; the Nether Prison Sect, despite its strength, is primarily a martial arts-focused sect, whereas Hidden Sword Mountain is an immortal cultivation sect, which once had a Golden Core True Monarch.

The Nether Prison Sect finds it hard to threaten the status of White Cloud Immortal City, but Hidden Sword Mountain might.

Besides White Cloud Immortal City, in the south of the Nether Prison Sect, there are immortal cultivation families of the Southern Wilderness, and in the east, there are many immortal cultivation forces.

Moreover, Hidden Sword Mountain currently lacks the strength to digest the territory of the Nether Prison Sect.

They can conquer but cannot hold.
