Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1156: Chapter 776: Gateways and Arrays (Part 2)

Besides this, Yang Zhenshan will also gather talents here in the future, perhaps with the Foreign Affairs Hall in charge.

Therefore, in the future, the Foreign Affairs Hall will have very large responsibilities, almost handling all affairs outside of Spirit Source Land.

”Yes, I understand, I will familiarize myself with the affairs of the Foreign Affairs Hall as soon as possible!” said Yang Mingzhi.

Yang Zhenshan then said to Jiang He, ”Arrange your matters and hand over Divine Wood Island to Jide, then go home and have a good rest for a while.”

For years, Jiang He has been stationed on Divine Wood Island, working hard without much recognition. Moreover, Yang Zhenshan left with the entire family of Yang Yunyan, leaving Jiang He behind to guard an empty house. Now it’s time for him to reunite with his family and have a good rest.

Yang Jide, trained by Jiang He as his successor, is the grandson of Yang Mingwu. He previously worked in the government while still on Star Moon Island.

”The Clan Council is currently drafting a set of advancement rules, and when you’ve rested, you can go take a look!”

This set of advancement rules is mainly targeting those outside of Spirit Source Land, regarding how those serving the Yang family can move into Spirit Source Land.

Although Spirit Source Land has a vast space, able to support hundreds of thousands of people, Yang Zhenshan cannot migrate populations there without restrictions.

In the future, those wanting to move into Spirit Source Land need either outstanding talent or enough merit and high cultivation.

Those with outstanding talent, even if they’re children, can move their families into Spirit Source Land.

However, accumulating enough merit to enter Spirit Source Land requires working for the Yang family for decades.

Overall, it is a path of advancement; there should be such paths both outside and inside Spirit Source Land.

Outsiders can only enter Spirit Source Land based on talent and merit, while advancement within Spirit Source Land focuses on positions and cultivation.

Generally, according to Yang Zhenshan’s previous ideas, positions and cultivation salaries have been set.

Position salaries will be given in merit and spirit stones, distributed annually based on the rank and contribution of the position.

Cultivation salaries, besides merit and spirit stones, will also include cultivation resources like elixirs, spiritual wine, and spiritual tea.

Yang Zhenshan plans to establish an economic system within Spirit Source Land that uses merit and spirit stones as currency.

To invigorate the economy of Spirit Source Land, enhance competitiveness, and establish a more reasonable and fair system.

In short, Spirit Source Land will develop towards a sect-like system, but with a bit more humanity than the sect system.

Yang Zhenshan dislikes the sect system for being too rigid and prone to internal conflicts.

In comparison, he prefers the family system, which includes family and marital ties beside master-disciple relationships.

He wants the people of Spirit Source Land to maintain a sense of competition while also staying united and harmonious.

Even if this means less hardship, it’s better than having family members fighting endlessly.

Of course, these things don’t need Yang Zhenshan to worry about personally; the Clan Council will naturally establish corresponding systems and rules.

The people of the Clan Council are more eager than him to keep Spirit Source Land a harmonious place. Though everyone depends on the Yang family, they also don’t want to be reduced to mere slaves. They hope to integrate with the Yang family, forming a bond that is mutual and intertwined.

Thus, after receiving Yang Zhenshan’s instructions, the Clan Council actively began formulating various systems.

After leaving the Pocket World Gate in the courtyard, Yang Zhenshan returned to the Spiritual Spring Mountain Plateau to continue his cultivation.

Compared to these trifling matters, he is more focused on improving his cultivation now.

After years of cultivation, he is nearing a breakthrough, just a step away from Qi Refining Eighth Layer.

This would be his first breakthrough on the Immortal Path, even if just a small realm, he still approaches it cautiously.

He even paused his study on the Void Refining Scripture and Qinghua Thunder Skill to ensure a stable breakthrough.

While Yang Zhenshan committed to his cultivation, Jiang He finally arrived at Longevity City.

Stepping out of the Reception Hall, gazing at the bustling and lively Longevity City, Jiang He was all astonished.

This wasn’t his first time at Spirit Source Land, but it was his first time witnessing the lively Longevity City.

The last time he was here was ten years ago, when Longevity City was still very basic, without tall buildings, grand palaces, or fields of spiritual fruit trees.

The Reception Hall used to be the initial Clan Hall when Longevity City was first established, with Yang Zhenshan having a temporary Clan Hall built there.

Later, when the Clan Hall was moved below the Spiritual Spring Waterfall, this hall became the city’s government office.

Afterward, the government office of Longevity City was rebuilt, leaving this hall vacant, now serving as a temporary Reception Hall.

However, this is also temporary, as the new Reception Hall is already under construction, situated outside the phoenix tree groves east of Longevity City.

”Vice Hall Master, this way, please!” Yang Chengyi guided Jiang He to a carriage.

Jiang He boarded the carriage, and Yang Chengyi followed suit.

Yang Chengyi is the son of Yang Mingzhen, currently serving as a manager in the Foreign Affairs Hall, mainly in charge of reception duties. Since Jiang He is the Vice Hall Master of the Foreign Affairs Hall, he is technically Yang Chengyi’s superior, which is why Yang Chengyi came personally to escort him home.

”How is your father doing now?” asked Jiang He, sitting in the carriage and looking at the street outside, observing the shops on both sides.

”My father works in the Clan Council, and I heard they are drafting some kind of advancement system recently. Haha, Hall Master, will we be able to receive spirit stones in the future?” Yang Chengyi chuckled and asked.

”Spirit stones!” Jiang He laughed, ”How would I know? I’ve been on Divine Wood Island the whole time, I haven’t even touched spirit stones!”

He had seen spirit stones before, like when Yang Chengze set up arrays, but he hadn’t handled them himself.

Yang Chengyi thought for a moment, ”True! But surely the Clan Hall will distribute spirit stones to the Hall Master in the future.”

”I heard that we all have to use spirit stones to buy things from now on! All these shops are newly built and will be selling all kinds of things!”

Jiang He asked, ”Did those shops not sell things before?”

”No, before it was the government distributing things, and money wasn’t of any use, uh, I guess we won’t be able to use money in the future either!” Yang Chengyi said somewhat helplessly, ”I have a lot of gold and silver at home that will be useless from now on!”

Jiang He chuckled, ”Gold and silver indeed aren’t very useful. Divine Wood Island has millions of taels of gold stored, and I used to worry about how to spend all that gold!”

As the chief steward of Divine Wood Island, he naturally knew how much Silver Coin was on the island.

Honestly speaking, the gold and silver in the storeroom on Divine Wood Island far outmatch that of the Da’an Dynasty’s treasury, and it’s not just a little more.

Besides gold and silver, the storeroom on Divine Wood Island also stores many treasure medicines and spirit fruits, all earned by the Yang family’s business company.

Unfortunately, these treasure medicines and spirit fruits are not considered valuable when brought to Spirit Source Land.

While they talked, the carriage had reached the Spirit Riverbank. The coachman gently snapped the whip, and the horse suddenly sprang into the air.

In Jiang He’s astonished gaze, they flew across the Spirit River.

”This carriage can fly?”

Yang Chengyi explained, ”This is a Red Cloud Horse, capable of flying in the air. This carriage was just crafted by the Artifact Refining Workshop and is said to have a Floating Restriction, allowing it to hover in the air!”

”Its flying speed isn’t very fast and can’t last long in the air, but it can fly over a hundred miles without problems. However, it consumes spirit stones, so normally, we still need to travel on the road!”

Jiang He lifted the carriage curtain, gazing at the Red Cloud Horse ahead, full of wonder.

”Who would’ve thought a horse could fly?”

”This is nothing! I’ve heard that the Sea of Spirit has powerful mutant beasts as large as mountains that can also fly, and the Xuanqing Sect on the Sea of Spirit has cloud boats that can carry thousands of people, flying at extreme speeds!” Yang Chengyi said.

Not many people venture outside Spirit Source Land, but many know about the Sea of Spirit’s various matters, deliberately so by Yang Zhenshan, to avoid ignorance when people travel outside.

Being Jiang He’s first time hearing and witnessing these things, he naturally found them fascinating.
