Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 350: Chapter 338 Return, a New Year’s Training Plan_2

He now only cares about Yang Yunxue, after all, with Yang Yunxue not by his side, he inevitably worries a bit more.

”Take good care of yourself, and give our Yang family another daughter; Ming Hao will then have both a son and a daughter!” Yang Zhenshan said with a smile.

”Dad, what if it’s another boy?” Liang Family asked shyly.

Yang Zhenshan couldn’t help but chuckle, ”Then we’ll wait for the next one!”

Liang Family gently nodded; she still wanted a boy to carry on the Yang family line. As for a daughter, well, she didn’t really mind.

After briefly chatting with his family, Yang Zhenshan then said to Wu Hai, ”I’ve brought back some fruit wine; send two jars to each house later, and put the rest in the wine cellar!”

The fruit wine was made in his space, mixed with honey, and he had placed it in the ship’s hold ahead of time.

”Yes, master!” Wu Hai responded and then led people to drive the carriage parked outside to the backyard.

Yang Zhenshan and Yu Qingyi returned to the main courtyard, sat on the plush couch, holding Little Ming Zhao in his arms, chatting leisurely with Yu Qingyi.

There were many miscellaneous family matters, such as who was getting married, and a gift needed to be sent.

Indeed, there were quite a few matters of joy and sorrow.

Especially in the last two years, many members of the Yang family got married; as the pillar of the Yang Family, Yang Zhenshan naturally had to take care of those, and if he couldn’t attend himself, he definitely had to send someone with a gift.

There were also celebrations for longevity, childbirth, promotions, and so on, all of which needed to be managed by Yu Qingyi.

So Yu Qingyi was also very busy.

For dinner, the Yang family held a family banquet, gathering together to have a lively time.

Actually, the Yang family didn’t have too many strict rules, like the precise routines of morning and evening or daughter-in-laws serving uncles and aunts, so being a daughter-in-law in the Yang family was quite comfortable.

As for the family banquets, there would be one or two every month, normally each household ate in their own courtyard.

This was unavoidable; with too many kids, gathering them together would be a noisy affair, and if Yang Zhenshan had to face these little ones every day, his head would probably ache.

After the family banquet ended, Little Ming Zhao was taken to sleep by Qingxia, and Yang Zhenshan and Yu Qingyi enjoyed time alone as if experiencing a second honeymoon, exploring each other until late into the night.

With nightingales whispering among flowers, and the hard-to-hear streams flowing under the ice.

As the saying goes, at thirty a man is like a wolf, and at forty a tiger; and now, Yu Qingyi is at the age akin to a tiger, plus her constitution made her quite vigorous.

Maybe because of Yang Zhenshan, although Yu Qingyi was still conservative and easily shy, in the deep quiet of the night, she became much more open, even willing to explore various positions with Yang Zhenshan.

...

Time unknowingly moved into April, and spring plowing began.

In Liaodong, April is the real spring, marking the start of the yearly cycle.

After entering April, the Tenglong Guard erupted with unprecedented enthusiasm, everyone threw themselves into their work with great hopes for the future.

Spring plowing was just one part; the salt fields began producing salt again, construction teams prepared to build roads, the government office’s armaments workshop started up again, and training in the barracks entered a new phase.

”Sir, this is this year’s training plan!”

In the government office study, Song Dashan handed a booklet to Yang Zhenshan.

Yang Zhenshan put down the document in his hand, picked up the booklet and glanced through.

Currently, all soldiers of the entire Tenglong Guard had completed their basic training, but this doesn’t mean the military camps outside the city would be idle.

Training in the Five Army Camps would not stop; aside from guard duties, their most important task now was training.

The current guard duties of the Five Army Camps were not many; the Guard City needed soldiers to patrol at four posts, the salt fields needed soldiers stationed at two posts, and the dock area had soldiers stationed at four posts.

In total, ten posts of soldiers would carry out guard duties simultaneously, which meant 500 soldiers, and with 4,000 soldiers in the Five Army Camps, each guard duty lasting one month, the soldiers of the Five Army Camps rotated through guard duties, leaving them plenty of time for training.

Besides the Five Army Camps, there was also the Personal Guard Camp, which did not need to perform guard duties; their main task was training and practicing.

Besides, the Personal Guard Camp is also a training camp, primarily for training talented and promising young soldiers.

The future Personal Guard Camp will not expand, but will continuously train elite soldiers.

Before the new year, Yang Zhengxiang sent descendants of the Yang family, children of some officials from the Tenglong Guard, and selected elites from other places such as Luo Chen, Ning Bo, etc., all of whom were sent by Yang Zhenshan to the Personal Guard Camp for training.

The Personal Guard Camp and the Five Army Camps are both considered elite, and their training cannot cease. Additionally, although ordinary soldiers do not need to maintain continuous training like them, Yang Zhenshan also requires them to come to the camp for training twice a year, with a thousand people each time, and each training session lasts half a month.

Currently, the Tenglong Guard has just over ten thousand ordinary soldiers. Excluding the two months of spring plowing and autumn harvest, the remaining ten months are just enough to allow all soldiers to come to the camp for training twice.

As for the soldiers of the Tenglong Advanced Guard, they are an exception, having their own training campgrounds, and their training content differs from that of ordinary soldiers, so their training is completed separately.

The training plan that Song Dashan has just brought is this year’s training schedule for ordinary soldiers.

Yang Zhenshan glanced at it and pondered, ”Should we establish a women’s training camp?”

”A women’s training camp?” Song Dashan was stunned, ”Sir, is that appropriate?”

There are some female commanders in the Da Rong Army, but there are no women’s armies.

The reason is simple. In this feudal society, women face too many restrictions, and it is not easy to take the stage.

Most female commanders in the army come from the worldly society or have extraordinary backgrounds, such as Zhou Lan, who comes from Duke Ning Mansion, thus is able to achieve accomplishments in the army.

As for a women’s army, having women enlist as ordinary soldiers clearly contradicts the customs of this world.

However, Yang Zhenshan feels it is necessary to establish a women’s training camp, as talent does not distinguish between genders.

The rarity of female Martial Artists is not because there are no geniuses among women, but because women do not have the opportunity to become geniuses.

Yang Zhenshan has always believed that neglecting women is a waste of talent.

”What’s inappropriate about it?” Yang Zhenshan asked.

”It’s just that having women train together with men might lead to gossip!” Song Dashan hesitated.

Yang Zhenshan gave him a sideways glance and said, ”Who said to let women train with men! The women’s training camp will be established separately!”

”Forget it, you don’t have to worry about this! I’ll have Yun Qiao handle it!”

Song Dashan, this simpleton, clearly isn’t suitable for managing a women’s training camp, and currently, the most suitable person under Yang Zhenshan is undoubtedly Yang Yunqiao.

”Sir, Yun Qiao is my son’s wife!” Song Dashan protested.

”She is my disciple!” Yang Zhenshan said.

”But—how would a young girl know about military affairs!” Song Dashan said.

Yang Zhenshan chuckled, ”Young girl, huh, I dare say she knows much more than you do!”

”...” Song Dashan was completely at a loss for words.

Who is Wang Yunqiao? She is a disciple carefully trained by Yang Zhenshan. Although it seemed that Yang Zhenshan seldom provided direct guidance to Wang Yunqiao daily, it doesn’t mean she knows nothing.

’One takes on the color of one’s company’: Wang Yunqiao grew up in the Yang family, a family known for its military prowess, how could she not understand military affairs?

Not to mention others, just ”The Thirty-Six Stratagems” and ”Military Training Records”, Wang Yunqiao knows them like the back of her hand.

The only drawback of Wang Yunqiao is perhaps that she hasn’t had real operational experience.

In comparison, Song Dashan, this simpleton, can’t even remember all of ”The Thirty-Six Stratagems,” and his understanding of military training is merely based on familiarity.

In terms of knowledge and insight, Wang Yunqiao definitely takes the leading seat in the Song family.

The young girl has married, grown up, and is no longer that self-doubting and timid girl.

”Okay, you handle this! You don’t need to worry about the women’s training camp!”
