Bizarre Voyage: Summoning The Fourth Crisis

”I still can’t beat this damn lizard. That tail swipe is impossible to dodge. There’s no pattern, how am I supposed to react in time?”

”Go play some Naruto, bro. I guarantee it’ll train your reflexes.”

”I’m kinda starting to not want to play anymore...”

”Guys, I’ve got something to take care of, so I’m logging off. I hope I see a guide tomorrow. You all keep at it.”

”...”

Under the relentless assault of the Altar Vine Lizards and the corridor traps, some players had already had enough. They either temporarily gave up exploring or logged off directly, wanting to take a break.

However, some players had already reached the end and were selflessly sharing the information they had obtained.

”At the end of the altar is the Divine Hall.”

The person who said this was Faraway.

His statement restored the confidence of many players, giving them new motivation to re-enter the dungeon and continue exploring.

But Faraway clearly wasn’t finished speaking.

”The Divine Hall has even more traps.”

he added.

”...” the other players typed.

Even Faraway Lord was saying that. What exactly were the conditions like inside the Divine Hall?

...

The situation inside the Divine Hall was still unknown for now, but when it came to the situation on its outskirts, Brother Mangzi had the most to say.

”ARGH—”

With a furious Battle Cry, his body engulfed in Warfire and his muscles bulging, Brother Mangzi swung his Great Axe in a wide arc. With a piercing Howl, it slammed viciously into the neck of the Python Guard before him.

Instantly, the massive Python Guard let out a wail as blood gushed out, and it collapsed with a crash.

This was already the second Python Guard.

The Warfire gradually faded. Looking at the two Python Guards before him, Brother Mangzi exhaled, wiped his nose, and wore a disdainful expression.

”Mere little snakes, daring to act so brazenly before me.”

Brother Mangzi grinned smugly and shouldered his Great Axe, then his gaze fell upon the Treasure Chest up ahead.

”Treasure Chest, here I come!”

Brother Mangzi laughed heartily and quickened his pace, arriving at the center of the bridge over the swamp.

The bridge was flanked by a swamp on both sides. It was long and narrow, leading straight to the magnificent Divine Hall ahead.

And the Treasure Chest in front of Brother Mangzi was right in the middle of this bridge.

Furthermore, the surface of the bridge in front of the Treasure Chest bore many signs of destruction, and some bones were floating in the adjacent swamp.

If it were an ordinary player, they would have definitely sensed something was wrong and been on their guard.

After all, the position of this Treasure Chest looked truly strange.

But Brother Mangzi didn’t think so.

’Kill monsters, then open the chest. Isn’t that perfectly normal?’

So, Brother Mangzi strolled up to the Treasure Chest without a hint of caution, not even bothering to replenish his Physical Strength or Blood Volume right after the battle.

But miraculously, he didn’t run into any traps or mechanisms.

CREAK. Brother Mangzi successfully opened the Treasure Chest, and to his surprise, it wasn’t empty. There was actually quite a bit of treasure inside.

Although Brother Mangzi couldn’t use them himself, he could sell them, so he was quite happy. He enthusiastically began to gather the items from the Treasure Chest, very focused on the task.

However, it turned out he had celebrated too soon.

Even the bones on both sides of the swamp hadn’t been enough to warn him off.

WHOOSH—

A powerful howling sound rang out. Brother Mangzi, who was in the middle of collecting his loot, couldn’t help but freeze, lifting his head to look toward the source of the sound.

However, what entered his vision was a giant, three-pointed Long Spear, already less than three meters away.

Under such circumstances, the outcome was predictable.

BOOM!!!

Earth and stone flew as dust filled the air. The spearhead, burning with Warfire, began to slowly fade away.

Brother Mangzi’s Wandering Soul rose, staring blankly at his own mangled body. It took him a long moment to realize what had happened.

”Bastard, who ambushed me!”

He flew into a rage. After searching around, he spotted a half-visible figure on a balcony high up on the Divine Hall, slowly lowering a Long Spear and staring indifferently at the bridge.

’Despicable and shameless!’

Brother Mangzi gritted his teeth and dashed off toward the Milestone Spirit Candle.

He was going to tear that damn monster to shreds!

Before long, the furious Brother Mangzi returned. After retrieving his Wax Ash, he charged straight for the gates of the Divine Hall.

However, he still took the bridge.

And the figure high up on the Divine Hall once again raised the Long Spear in its hands.

Seeing this, Brother Mangzi snorted coldly, disdainful in his heart.

’I see you now, and you still think you can poke me?’

’Think I’m blind?’

Without another word, Brother Mangzi executed a roll.

However, the figure on the balcony didn’t throw the spear at him as Brother Mangzi had expected. It just held it aloft, aiming, as if it would throw it at any second.

Seeing this, Brother Mangzi panicked slightly and performed another roll.

But the opponent still didn’t throw.

’Damn it, throw it! Why aren’t you throwing it!’

Brother Mangzi’s face flushed red, though it was hard to tell if it was from anger or embarrassment over his two monkey-like rolls.

’Damn it, if you won’t throw it, fine! I’ll just come up there and cut you down!’

Brother Mangzi was enraged. He put his Great Axe into his inventory and then sprinted unhesitatingly toward the main gate.

Just as he got back on his feet, the figure finally moved. The Long Spear left its hand with a SWOOSH.

’The son of a bitch really knows how to pick his moment!’

The rage in Brother Mangzi’s heart flared even brighter, but he reacted quickly. The instant he heard the Howl, he performed a forward roll.

BOOM. A huge noise erupted behind him, but Brother Mangzi was completely unscathed.
