Bizarre Voyage: Summoning The Fourth Crisis

After a chaotic scene of screams and howls,

having died twice already, Shore finally made it through the narrow path with Li Miao’s help from the side.

However, his face and body were still bristling with numerous Crystal Blades, making him look almost like a porcupine.

Shore grimaced, yanking out the Crystal Blades one by one.

Then, unable to contain his rage, he summoned a massive Blood Stone Burst and annihilated the entire swarm of mobs in the air.

Afterward, he turned and glared at Li Miao, grinding his teeth.

Pfft...

Seeing his ”dear son” in such a sorry state, Li Miao really couldn’t hold it in anymore and burst out laughing.

”Li Miao, you bastard!”

”You’re wearing fucking Heavy Armor and you still made me stand in front! You’re a real fucking animal!”

”Die!”

Furious, Shore threw a heavy punch right into his chest.

However, as a Mage, he had barely put any points into his Power Attribute. Li Miao, on the other hand, had just equipped the new Exquisite Quality Heavy Armor, [Eternal Confusion]. So, not only did the punch fail to budge Li Miao in the slightest, it made Shore’s own fist throb with pain.

”Fuck me...”

Shore cursed, then raised his Magic Staff, ready to unleash something nasty on the guy.

”Hey, hey, hey! Don’t! Brother Wei, calm down, calm down.”

Seeing this, Li Miao quickly put on a friendly smile and began to argue his case with a straight face.

”Aiya, how can you blame me for that? In that situation, if I had given you the Shield, you wouldn’t have been able to hold it! You might have even fallen off. I was just afraid of getting you hurt. I was doing it for your own good!”

”Couldn’t you have just held it yourself and blocked for me?” Shore was so angry he laughed.

”Haha, ha... Well...” Hearing this, Li Miao scratched his head awkwardly. ”I didn’t think of that just now. Next time for sure, definitely next time, ha.”

Just how much of that was believable was anyone’s guess.

’Dammit, this bastard...’

Shore’s face darkened.

This sort of thing was pretty much a daily occurrence for the two of them. Shore had screwed over Li Miao plenty of times himself.

Pulling stunts like this in reality was risky, but this was a virtual world. Not setting traps for his ”dear son” would mean missing out on a huge part of the fun!

’Shore seriously suspected that this punk Li Miao was definitely getting revenge on him for stealing half a pack of his tissues yesterday...’

After this little interlude, the two continued forward.

Spirit Candle could be quite considerate at times.

For example, the loot from these flying monsters they killed would normally have fallen straight into the pit below.

But this time, killing them directly awarded Wax Oil, albeit in small amounts.

The two advanced for a while longer.

During this time, only more of the same Spiral Crystals appeared. Having long since learned Mithros Starlight, Shore picked them off one by one with ease.

As for Li Miao, his shortcomings as a Knight were also becoming apparent.

Faced with these flying monsters, he either had to waste a huge amount of effort using his Crescent Moon Sword Qi Cannon to shoot a mosquito, or he could only run away.

In any case, it wasn’t like he could just use Frost Piercing to get up there...

Thus, the task of clearing out these monsters had to be left to Shore, the Mage.

This also gave Shore the perfect opportunity to mercilessly mock Li Miao, the ”Low IQ Knight.”

’If you want to be good at this game, you have to rely on us noble Mages!’

”Hold on.”

After advancing a little further, Li Miao spotted a relatively spacious clearing up ahead. A bad feeling washed over him, and he stopped Shore, who was behind him.

The clearing was on the path they had to take. It extended out over the pit, and surrounding it stood numerous dim Crystal Ores.

The most eye-catching thing, however, was the bizarre-looking, egg-shaped object in the very center, which flowed with a faint light.

[?]

The feedback from the game was extremely vague, but it wasn’t completely absent. This indicated that the object was most likely a living creature.

”What the hell is this thing? A pet egg? Don’t tell me Spirit Candle is about to release a pet system?” Shore’s eyes lit up.

”Pet your ass.” Li Miao was rendered speechless by his friend’s bizarre idea and retorted irritably, ”If that’s a pet egg, I’ll eat it on the spot!”

”It’s obviously a monster. Hit it with something first.”

Hearing this, Shore smacked his lips. Of course, he was just talking.

Then, at Li Miao’s signal, Shore stepped forward and fired a Mithros Starlight.

SWOOSH!

The Starlight exploded, and a faint glow scattered.

The strangely shaped egg instantly reacted, cracking open with a loud rumble.

The next moment, a slug-shaped, crystalline monster suddenly leaped out. It had a clear target and quickly burrowed toward a chunk of Crystal Ore.

Li Miao also got a clear look at the monster’s name as it flashed past.

[Hosted Primordial Body]

A monster of Ember Quality.

However, Li Miao didn’t have time to check for more information, because it had already crawled onto a piece of Crystal Ore.

The next moment, the Crystal Ore began to rattle and rustle. Some of the surrounding ores were drawn toward it as well.

”Whoa, this monster has a cutscene intro?” Shore exclaimed in surprise.

”Cutscene my ass! Hit it, what are you spacing out for? Waiting for it to attack you?” Seeing his buddy’s reaction, Li Miao’s vision went dark as he cursed.

”Watch your tone, Low IQ Knight,” Shore retorted, annoyed. His hands, however, didn’t slow down as a bloody light began to gather on his Magic Staff.

BANG! BANG!

At the same time, the monster called the Hosted Primordial Body finished its transformation.

After merging with the ore, it proceeded to construct and extend limbs and a hard shell.

But its appearance left both Li Miao and Shore stunned.

Because its form was almost a perfect imitation of Shore. Apart from the dim crystal shell on its body, it had even mimicked a Magic Staff made of crystal in its hand.
