Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1987: The Worldʼs Situation VI: The Tension

”Considering the possible benefit, itʼs indeed worth investing,” Wang Chong said, nodding. ”Tell him to ascend, and weʼll send someone to pick him up.”

”Donʼt be so quick,” Qiyuan said. ”Tell him to pass the name Old Man Tianji to someone else. Then, if he fails to compete for the Star Gazing Pavilion, we can choose someone else.”

”Good thinking.” Wang Wei sent his consciousness to the lower dimension and communicated with Old Man Tianji. ”Hmm?”

”What is it?”

”Iʼve detected some strange fates in the lower dimension.”

”What do you mean?”

”Hold on. Give me a moment… No, thatʼs unacceptable.”

”What is it?”

”I found traces of the Divine Court and many other foreign forces.”

Qiyuan frowned. ”Theyʼve already laid pawns in the lower dimension?”

”We must eradicate them immediately,” Yan Hai said.

”Iʼll order the sect to eliminate them. Hm? Where are Origin One and the others?”

”Theyʼve ascended.”

”That explains these unknown elders and guardians.”

Wang Wei opened his eyes a few seconds later. No one knew that he had just sent an order that would send the lower dimension into chaos. However, considering what was at stake, whatever carnage and bloodshed that was about to happen would be worth it.

”Is there anything else youʼd like to know?” Qiyuan asked. Wang Wei needed to be caught up as soon as possible so they could plan their next step.

”I still have a few questions, starting with the tension I sense in the sect.”

As soon as he said this, all eyes turned to Yan Hai, who remained silent and refused to explain.

Qiyuan sighed. ”One of the factions that enter the world is called the [Destroy Sword Dao Alliance]. From the name, you can guess their purpose.”

”Remove the dominant position of the Sword Dao.”

”Yes, and theyʼve become quite popular — even among many of our disciples, especially one of them —”

”Jin Mengyao.”

”Yes. All Weapon Daos have suddenly condensed a lot of destiny, and heʼs inherited a decent part of the Spear Dao.”

”Heʼs just a brat who thinks he can defy the heavens.”

”Shouldnʼt we be saying that to you?” Wang Wei said.

”What do you mean by that?”

”The trend of Heaven and Earth is that the Sword and Saber Dao will lose their dominance, returning things to a state of balance. But your resistance literally means youʼre trying to defy the heavens.”

”So, what if I am?”

”His meaning is pretty clear: youʼre doing a foolʼs errand,” Wang Chong added. ”Your current self has no business trying to defy Heaven and Earthʼs trend.”

”I never plan to stop the trend. But in the Eternal Ascension World and a few selected places, the Sword Pathʼs dominance must remain.”

Wang Wei shrugged. He had no stake in this affair, so he didnʼt care.

”Anyway,” Qiyuan continued. ”We donʼt want any part in this affair, especially now of all time. So, weʼve decided to let them settle things between themselves. The sect wonʼt support or oppose either side.”

”Iʼm afraid that will be easier said than done.” Destiny of such caliber has a way of sucking people in. The Dao Opening Sect might try to remain neutral, but wanting to do so and doing it are two completely different things.

”Weʼll do what we can.” Qiyuan sighed.

”How is the league responding to this Destroy Sword Dao Alliance?”

Wang Chong laughed. ”What do you think?”

”Ever since the foreigners appeared, they are the ones who suffered the most,” Li Ming added.

”Iʼm pretty sure they were planning on causing trouble for me. However, now, they are occupied by these mad men.”

”So, in some ways, Jin Mengyaoʼs existence has shielded you from a lot of pressure?”

”I donʼt need his protection.”

”But the sect does,” Wang Chong said. ”We have a lot to deal with, and itʼs a good thing we donʼt have more on our plate.”

Wang Wei nodded. Having fewer enemies is never a bad thing. As he sipped his wine, he continued asking: ”Howʼs Lord Wang Bo? He should already have enough merit to sanctify, right?”

”He does. Weʼre waiting after the sermon.”

”I brought a lot of resources, which should help him.” He gave everyone access to his treasury.

”We now have the foundation of a Saint Lineage,” Wang Chong commented with a wide grin.

”Donʼt be too happy,” Qiyuan said. ”Donʼt forget, these things are a hot potato. Although the Duchess promised to protect us, we canʼt rely on her.”

”After Lord Wang Bo sanctifies, do you think he can set up a Second Step Array such as the Heaven and Earth Origin Cycle Array?” Li Ming asked.

”Under normal circumstances, Iʼd say no. But he has the foundation for an Array master, and with the Array Diagram, there is a chance. Plus, if he fails, we can still ask Hongʼer,” Wang Wei replied. They had the materials and the Array Diagram, and if Wang Bo could cultivate the Yin-Yang Quantum Array, he had a high chance of succeeding.

”Shouldnʼt his priority after sanctification be to improve his foundation?” Wang Chong asked.

Qiyuan shook his head. ”The sectʼs safety comes first. Plus, setting a higher level of array is a great way to cultivate; maybe he can find inspiration on how to improve his pillars.”

Wang Wei agreed with these words. The situation was dangerous, and the sect would be at ease with an array on the level of the Heaven and Earth Origin Cycle Array. Such a foundation might help them secure one of the Seven Positions.

Wang Weiʼs eyes turned to Qiyuan: ”Ancestor —”

”Call me Qiyuan; with your cultivation, there is no need for formalities.”

”Alright, Qiyuan, do you need my main body presence for your third foundation? Or will an avatar do?”

”Thatʼs an interesting question. Normally, your main body would be required for the final ritual. However, you are an anomaly. It might be in my best interest to use a less intense manifestation of your [Existence]. Iʼll think about it more.”

”Well, Iʼll be here when you need it,” Wang Wei said. ”By the way, how is my nephew? By now, he should be a Paragon, right?” Maybe even reaching the Peak?”

”Heʼs still gestating in his personalized reincarnation,” Wang Chong replied.

”That canʼt be. Itʼs been so long. He should have succeeded long ago.”

”There is some strange transformation happening to him; you should check it out,” Qiyuan explained.

”I see. What about his mother? How is she?”

”Yan Liling is in retreat to condense her first Saint Foundation,” Yan Hai explained. ”She should be out soon.”

”Thatʼs good to hear.”

”If you donʼt have any more questions, we should start planning our next course of action.”

”Before we get that, Iʼd like to know how powerful you are.”

”More powerful than you — even in this form.”

”Those are bold words,” Yan Hai sneered. ”Care to back them up?”

”Why not? But donʼt regret it later.”

The two of them created a new world for their battlefield before going all out. Two hours later, they returned to the room; Wang Weiʼs clothes were perfectly intact, while Yan Hai was disheveled, with light injuries all over her body.

”Why is your fighting style now as disgusting as your wifeʼs?” Yan Hai complained. Throughout the fight, that bastard controlled every aspect; with the new deception, it was so disgusting that she almost cursed him and all his ancestors.

”That [Force Control Skill] may be an Innate Saint Art,” Li Ming commented.

”If itʼs not, it will be as soon as he sanctifies.”

Wang Chong sighed deeply. ”I knew it was only a matter of time before he surpassed us, but I didnʼt think it would be so soon.”

”Itʼs too early to be talking about surpassing us; itʼs only one battle,” Yan Hai said, snorting lightly. However, the others ignored her, saving her the last bit of pride. Although she didnʼt use all her strength since this wasnʼt a life-and-death battle, this was just one of Wang Weiʼs avatars.

”I regret not participating in the expedition,” Li Ming suddenly said.

Wang Chong nodded. ”True. Despite the danger, it seems a great opportunity for immense progress.”

Wang Wei wanted to roll his eyes. The expedition had a 99% death rate. So, who knows if these guys would have survived? With them there, Trinity Venerable would have definitely made a move; at the very least, heʼd turned antagonistic earlier than he did. With everything else going on, Wang Wei didnʼt know if he could protect them from a fully antagonistic Trinity Venerable.

”Can you help me create a projection of all the people you met and fought? Iʼd like to learn from your battle, and maybe face them myself,” Li Ming asked.

”I have no issue with the ones Iʼve faced, but I canʼt guarantee accuracy for the others.”

”Thatʼs fine.”

After Yan Hai healed, the group spent the next few hours planning the sectʼs future. Once that was done, Wang Wei sent a summons to Red Mask to wait for him before flying away to check on his nephewʼs condition.
