Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor

Chapter 1714: Grand Dao’s Hidden Strength

Center of the River of Fate, True Fate Palace:

The Fate Cardinal’s [Existence Blueprint] slowly condensed, followed by his body, soul, and consciousness. And as soon as he opened his eyes, a terrifying aura uncontrollable spread, disturbing the fate of countless lives and worlds. The cardinal could not control himself: the fear of death was too intense.

”I...I almost didn’t make it,” he muttered. Although most people think his kind is eternal as long as the Grand Dao exists, they know that if a third-step Saint wishes to kill them, they can do it with the right price. At that time, the record of their [Existence] will be removed from the Chaos Universe, meaning Grand Dao won’t even be able to make a copy of them.

The Fate Cardinal glanced at his trembling hands. After living for so long with the infallible mentality that death was beneath him, today’s event shook the cardinal to the core. That drop of blood reminded him that some people might not give Grand Dao’s face and go to the extra length needed to kill the cardinals.

’I need to calm down,’ Fate Cardinal thought. He reached out to summon a Second-step healing pill called the Soul Origin Saint Pill. Although this thing is rare and primarily used by Tribunal Saint to heal their injuries, it also has the effect of soothing the mind, which is exactly what he needed right now. Then, once the emotions faded, Fate Cardinal realized his current situation.

’Grand Dao will definitely summon one of us to return to that wretched place and oversee that seal. It can’t be.’ He remembered there were three drops of blood, and he could guess where the third one landed. ’No, I can’t go back there.’

Without hesitation, the Fate Cardinal collapsed his body, reverting to a scroll shape, which was a manifestation of his [Blueprint Existence]. His body entered a loop of being condensed before returning to the scroll state. Then, as the cardinal expected, Grand Dao’s presence descended into his palace. However, when she saw the ”sorry state” the cardinal was in, she knew this useless ”worker” was trying to be lazy.

Regardless of the truth, Grand Dao knew the importance of the seal, and if the latter was willing to embarrass itself to such a degree to prevent dealing with it, there was no point in sending him. So, despite knowing the answer, Grand Dao checked on the Primordial Cardinal. Coincidentally, she was also in a terrible state.

Six Paths of Samsara’s Core, Great Samsara City:

Legend has it that there is a black city said to be the origin of death and the source of all souls in the Chaos Universe. The city predated the Six Paths of Samsara and the Cardinal, and its origin is unknown; some people believe that when the first death occurred in the Chaos Universe during the Genesis Age, the victim’s death qi became this city.

The Great Samsara City is said to contain all the most valuable secrets of death: the Book of Life and Death, the Karma Scroll, the First Soul, the First Sinner, the First Virtue, the Wall of Memories, and so many more. At the very center of this city lies a towering palace, the residence of the Overseer of Samsara, charged with guarding and protecting all these secrets.

Samsara Cardinal was deep in thought, reading a scroll, when she sensed something. She stood up to show the proper respect: ”Lord.” A message entered her mind, making her frown. Although she didn’t participate in the expedition, she understood something must have happened for Grand Dao to summon her.

”Lord, although it hasn’t been long since the expedition, these Saints are already causing trouble. Additionally, I’m still dealing with the selection of the Samsara Envoy. If I leave now — no, even if I only leave a clone — the situation will instantly escalate.”

Grand Dao mulled over these words. After making trillions upon trillions of deductions and calculations, she realized that moving this chess piece has more cons than pros. Additionally, among these six incompetent wretches, she was the most useful. While not extraordinary, she has been able to do her job to the point of no complaints. In that case, another chess piece must be moved. Although much earlier than she would like, it will not change much in the grand scheme of things — at least, she won’t allow it.

Bang!

A slight fluctuation manifested in a random corner of the Chaos Universe. A being with a humanoid shape, wearing a simple white robe with no face, appeared briefly before disappearing. Although his existence or presence was quick, countless powerful entities immediately noticed it.

”Is that...”

”The Cardinal for the Pool of Creation.”

”Our deduction was correct.”

”After so many years, why did Grand Dao suddenly reveal its existence?”

”I don’t know, but something must have happened — most likely with the expedition.”

”So soon? Even if there is a time dilation, there shouldn’t be a need for this as early as this?”

”Unless something happens to the landing.”

”I knew there would be too much trouble since it involved the Infinite Divine Court. I’m so glad I paid the fee instead of participating.”

”They recruited you?”

”They didn’t with you? Well, it’s understandable.”

”What do you mean by that?”

”I mean, you have a shitty personality, and no one wants to work with you.”

”Old Demon Xie, do you want to fight?”

”Shut up, you two. A new player has entered the board, and instead of discussing the implications, you’re bickering like a married couple.”

”What’s there to discuss? Of all the third-step beings, Grand Dao might not be the strongest, but she’s the one with the most hidden cards. She revealed one, and we just need to make her reveal more.”

”Not the strongest? With the Destruction General, who dared say she’s not the strongest? If not for that tyrant at the end of the River of Time, she probably would have already used him to dominate us all.”

”Regardless, the current chaos and stalemate are the most advantageous to us. In some ways, we must thank that being.”

”Don’t say such blasphemy ever again, but you’re right about the fact that we can finally breathe and plan our path ahead.”

...

The Creation Cardinal reached the [Void Between Universes] and glanced at the situation of Timeline NP89076H. The seal still held on despite being on the verge of collapsing. However, this was far from good news, as some aura or power might already have leaked in. So, without hesitation, the cardinal used the very essence of creation itself to create concepts or ideas that can both purify the Highest Sovereign’s power and reinforce the seal.

The purification efforts were less than ideal, but the reinforcement proved highly effective. Theoretically speaking, nothing should bypass the seal and enter that timeline. However, as long as the power of light remains on the seal, theory will never turn into an absolute. As such, the Creation Cardinal raised its hands to create a Darkness Grand Construct.

The fundamental essence of the Grand Constructs is that they are Dao Quintessence created by Grand Dao. As such, a cardinal — who is only a second-step powerhouse — should not have the capabilities of creating one. However, this cardinal was different. The trust and authority Creation is granted by the Grand Dao is unmatched by others. Using that authority, it achieved the impossible.

The power of darkness slowly confronted Jiang Qing’s power of light. The Darkness Grand Construct is of the same essence as the light, and adding the fact that most of Jiang Qing’s power was annihilated by Grand Dao and the Bi Clan Ancestor, the winner should have been obvious. However, just like its owner, the power of light was unyielding; it fought desperately to resist and refuse to give up or bow down to its oppressor.

The Creation Cardinal frowned. This resistance was more annoying than anticipated. However, resistance was futile. With a thought, the Darkness Grand Construct resonated with all of the Primordial Timeline’s constructs to further boost its effect, thus drastically boosting the purification process.

Infinite Divine Court, Light Source Realm:

As Jiang Qing was about to head to his meeting, he noticed the newcomer and started observing. He watched how this new cardinal brilliantly used the power of its domain.

”The essence of creation, and you’re just revealing it to me like that?” Jiang Qing muttered. ”Is this supposed to be an open scheme?” He frowned. His first instinct was that this open scheme was not as tempting as Grand Dao thought. However, he suddenly remembered someone else: a young man named Tian Xuan.

’Tian Xuan, Tian Xuan — is your arrival the last desperate act of changing your fate, or are you just a pawn who thinks it has escaped? Or maybe this is one of those situations in which my overthinking does more harm than good?’ Despite how he searched the latter’s body or deduced the truth, the answer or truth remained elusive to the Highest Sovereign.

’Fine. Since you dare send him, why wouldn’t I dare use him?’
