Divine Level Witch Doctor

Ying Ji frowned slightly and said, ”Elder Yue, I have a question. Since you’ve already invited a Great Alchemist from the Cultivator Forum, why not have her make the Elixir for you?”

Yue Tianchi explained, ”It’s like this. Alchemy is different from other things. If you don’t know the Elixir Recipe, no matter how skilled you are, you can’t produce the relevant Elixir. But don’t worry. Although this Great Alchemist doesn’t know the method for making Elixirs that purify Qi, her level in the Alchemy Dao is absolutely beyond question. With her on the case, she’ll definitely be able to accurately judge the quality of the Elixirs.”

Bai Yuting sneered, ”You don’t even understand this basic principle, yet you have the nerve to come here and compete with me for the Thousand-Day Wine. I suggest you get lost before you embarrass yourselves.”

Ying Ji retorted, ”You keep trying to make us leave. You’re not worried that you have no confidence in your own Elixir, are you? Scared we’ll show you up?”

Bai Yuting snorted, ”My Elixir, shown up by you? What a joke! I, Bai Yuting, have been practicing Alchemy for over sixty years and have created countless Elixirs! I could take out any random Elixir and it would still crush you!”

He stopped paying attention to Ying Ji and turned to Yue Tianchi. ”Fellow Daoist Yue, I wonder who this Great Alchemist you’ve invited is? If his reputation and ability aren’t up to snuff, he’ll have no right to judge the Elixir I’ve made!”

Bai Yuting’s words were incredibly arrogant. However, he did have the skill to back it up. In the Cultivation Realm, his proficiency in Alchemy and Medicine Making placed him at the forefront of second-rate Pill Masters, which had fostered his condescending personality.

A flash of displeasure crossed Yue Tianchi’s eyes, but he quickly concealed it and said with a chuckle, ”Rest assured, this Great Alchemist absolutely has the ability and the reputation. She is none other than the renowned Cold Mountain Elder from the Cultivator Forum!”

”Cold Mountain Elder?” Zhao Yuan was slightly taken aback; the name sounded familiar.

’Isn’t that the Pill Master from the Cultivator Forum who posted questioning me back then?’ he recalled after a moment.

Of course, that same Pill Master was also the first to come forward and apologize to him later on. From this, he could tell that this Pill Master named Cold Mountain Elder truly had some skill and was also an open-minded person—completely different from the old and disrespectful Bai Yuting.

Meanwhile, Bai Yuting started laughing. ”Oh, so it’s her. Her grandfather, Shan Yejin, and I go way back. Shan Han—oh, that’s Cold Mountain Elder—she may be young, but her skills are certainly not lacking. It’s due to her family’s deep-rooted knowledge and good teaching. Fine, I have no objection to her being the judge.”

”I have no objection either,” Zhao Yuan said.

He had complete confidence in his Purifying Qi Pills. Even if the judge knew Bai Yuting, in the face of overwhelming skill, it would be impossible for her to show favoritism. Besides, Yue Tianchi was watching. Though the man was all smiles, he was actually very shrewd. His goal was to obtain a superior Elixir, so he would never allow anyone to pull any tricks in this matter.

Bai Yuting’s showboating wouldn’t help him; it would only make him lose points!

”Alright, since none of you have any objections, I’ll go get Cold Mountain Elder.” Yue Tianchi stood up and left.

A moment later, when he returned to the reception hall, he was followed by a cold, stunning, and imposing woman. It was none other than Cold Mountain Elder, Shan Han.

Bai Yuting walked up to greet her, his face wreathed in smiles. ”Shan Han, long time no see! It’s your Grandpa Bai.”

Shan Han looked him up and down a few times, then said with a deadpan expression, ”I don’t know you. Please don’t try to claim connections that don’t exist.”

The smile on Bai Yuting’s face froze instantly. He hurriedly said, ”I’m Bai Yuting, a friend of your grandfather’s. We even met in the first half of this year.”

Shan Han frowned, recalling for a moment. ”I remember now. I have indeed seen you. You were with a group of people who came to visit my grandfather. But my grandfather spoke no more than five sentences to you in total. You can’t even say you know each other. On what basis do you claim to be my grandfather’s friend?”

”This...” Bai Yuting was mortified.

Shan Han’s grandfather was a true Great God in the Alchemy Dao, a first-rate Pill Master. In terms of both strength and fame, Bai Yuting was no match for him. Bai Yuting had always boasted to outsiders that he and Elder Shan were friends, and over time, he had even come to believe it himself. He never expected to be so ruthlessly exposed by Shan Han, and it made him feel like he had lost a lot of face.

He wanted to get angry, but he didn’t have the guts. After all, Shan Han’s family background was not something he could afford to offend. And even without considering her family, Shan Han’s own skill and fame were no weaker than his.

Taking a deep breath, Bai Yuting suppressed his anger and cursed inwardly, ’Another disrespectful brat! Young people these days have no manners at all! The next time I have a chance to see Elder Shan, I’ll definitely tell on her!’

Seeing this, Zhao Yuan and the others could barely contain their amusement, which only made Bai Yuting even more furious.

Yue Tianchi stepped forward to smooth things over. ”Great Alchemist Shan is here. Who would like to present their Elixir first for her to inspect?”

”I’ll go first!” Bai Yuting said. He was eager to prove his skills and show Zhao Yuan and Shan Han just how capable he was!

He raised a hand, and Shang Qu immediately took a small, blue-and-white porcelain bottle from the bag on his back and placed it in his hand.

Bai Yuting said, ”This Elixir of mine is called the Nine Revolutions Essence Storage Pill. Its effect on Purifying Qi is outstanding. I’m not bragging, but it is absolutely the strongest Elixir for Purifying Qi! Alchemist Shan, once you’ve verified my Nine Revolutions Essence Storage Pill, you can just announce the result directly. There’s no need to waste time looking at a trash Elixir.”

”Whose Elixir are you calling a trash Elixir?” Cheng Haoyu was furious. He had become a loyal fan of Zhao Yuan’s and couldn’t stand hearing anyone insult him.

”Don’t argue with him.” Zhao Yuan patted Cheng Haoyu, signaling for him to calm down. ”We’ll see whose Elixir is trash soon enough!”

”It seems you won’t give up until you’re faced with the bitter end!” Bai Yuting snorted, handing the small, blue-and-white porcelain bottle to Shan Han. ”Alchemist Shan, please, tell them just how amazing this Elixir of mine is!”

Shan Han didn’t reply. Holding the small, blue-and-white porcelain bottle, she walked over to the coffee table in the reception hall. She took out a roll of flawless silk from her bag, spread it on the table, and put on gloves before pouring out a single pill from the bottle. After inspecting it with various instruments and systems, she announced, ”The Nine Revolutions Essence Storage Pill’s effect on Purifying Qi is around forty percent, which can be considered outstanding!”

This result made Bai Yuting incredibly smug. He shot a sidelong glance at Zhao Yuan and sneered, ”Did you hear that, kid? My Nine Revolutions Essence Storage Pill’s effect on Purifying Qi is a full forty percent! What about your Elixir? I bet it’s not even ten percent, right? What makes you think you can compete with me? What gives you the right to fight me for the Thousand-Day Wine?”
