I Grind to Martial Saint

Clearly, this burly brute wanted Han Yuan to bow his head to him.

After all, Han Yuan was now a disciple of the Palace Master, Situ Hui. If he actually called this brute ”Brother,” what face would he have left?

Song Chen naturally saw what was happening and said coldly, ”Li Weishan, Han Yuan is the Palace Master’s Closed-door Disciple. How could he possibly call you Brother?”

He knew Li Weishan’s background was nothing to scoff at. His father was an Elder in the Great Demon Palace, and he was on good terms with Dong Sen. Within the palace, he was a tyrant who always got his way.

This time, it was hard to say whether someone had put him up to it or if he’d come looking for a fight on his own initiative.

Upon hearing this, Li Weishan burst out laughing. ”But I heard Han Yuan just joined our Great Demon Palace yesterday. According to our rules, he’s supposed to call me Brother.”

As he spoke, his expression shifted into a malicious grin. ”Otherwise, he’s not going anywhere today.”

Song Chen’s expression turned grim when he heard this.

Clearly, the man was showing him absolutely no respect, not giving him any face at all.

As the two sides stood in a tense standoff, Han Yuan spoke up. ”Elder Song, you told me that in the Great Demon Palace, you can kill people as you please, is that right?”

Song Chen nodded. ”That’s right...”

The Great Demon Palace was a Demon Sect, after all. It encouraged its members to attack and kill one another in a brutal, survival-of-the-fittest training style.

Outright murder was permitted, and so were poisoning and assassination.

”Good enough.”

Han Yuan smiled, walked up to Li Weishan, and asked quietly, ”Any last words?”

Li Weishan froze, as if he had misheard. He sneered, ”Kid, you can’t possibly think...”

Before he could finish his sentence, Han Yuan bent his knees slightly and suddenly exploded with power!

BOOM!

He shot forward like a cannonball, his right fist unleashing a torrent of explosive force as it flew toward its target!

The very air was displaced, forming a terrifying shockwave that kicked up a powerful gust of wind.

The next moment.

Li Weishan’s head instantly exploded, turning into a mist of blood and gore.

Blood and brains splattered across the faces of the Great Demon Palace disciples standing behind him.

’This kid...’

Song Chen hadn’t expected Han Yuan to be so decisive, striking without a moment’s hesitation.

And with a single strike, he had finished Li Weishan.

”You... you actually dared to kill Brother Li!”

”Just you wait! Elder Li will never let you get away with this!”

One of the Great Demon Palace disciples cried out in horror.

The next moment.

SWOOSH!

Han Yuan suddenly appeared before the disciple and smiled. ”And why wouldn’t I dare...?”

SPLAT!

That disciple’s head also burst apart.

This bloody and violent spectacle made the remaining Great Demon Palace disciples scream in terror. They turned and fled, terrified that Han Yuan would target them next.

”Li Weishan’s father is Li Yuanshi, the Fifth Elder of our Great Demon Palace.”

”Now that you’ve killed his son, he will certainly do everything in his power to get revenge.”

Song Chen sighed in resignation.

”If I don’t act ruthlessly, every Tom, Dick, and Harry will think they can come looking for trouble with me,” Han Yuan said with a laugh.

Song Chen fell silent for a moment. He knew Han Yuan had a point.

”By the way, if Li Yuanshi is the Fifth Elder, what number are you?” Han Yuan asked.

”I am the Ninth Elder,” Song Chen explained. ”There are a total of nine Elders in the Great Demon Palace, all of whom are Innate Grandmasters. We’re each responsible for different sect affairs. For instance, I’m in charge of guarding the palace’s main gate, while the Fifth Elder is in charge of training disciples.”

”I see.” Han Yuan nodded, then smiled. ”I’ve suddenly changed my mind about seeing Situ Hui. I need you to take me somewhere else first.”

Song Chen asked, surprised and wary, ”Where to?”

”To find that Li Yuanshi,” Han Yuan said with a smile.

”What?!” Song Chen looked utterly aghast.

He had been worried that Li Yuanshi would come looking for Han Yuan, but he never expected Han Yuan to want to go looking for him instead.

”Elder Song, as the saying goes: strike first to gain the upper hand, or strike later and suffer disaster.”

”An elder like yourself must understand this principle better than I do.”

”I’ll kill Li Yuanshi before he has time to figure out how to deal with me,” Han Yuan reasoned.

’Besides, killing isn’t forbidden in the Great Demon Palace anyway.’

”But... this...”

Song Chen opened his mouth to speak several times, but no words came out.

He found he couldn’t argue with Han Yuan’s logic.

He took a deep breath. ”Alright. I’ll take you to him.”

Clearly, Han Yuan had won him over.

”Let’s go!” Han Yuan boomed with a laugh.

The two of them moved swiftly through the Great Demon Palace.

「Meanwhile.」

「In a remote palace hall of the Great Demon Palace.」

”What?! Weishan is dead?!”

Upon hearing the news of his son’s death, Li Yuanshi flew into a thunderous rage, his face instantly contorting into a ferocious mask.

”Elder Li, Brother Li was ambushed and killed by that Han Yuan!”

”You must avenge him!”

The Great Demon Palace disciple who had fled earlier knelt on the ground, bursting into tears.

”Han Yuan...”

Hearing that name, Li Yuanshi actually calmed down somewhat.

He asked in a heavy tone, ”Who told Weishan to go and provoke Han Yuan?”

The disciple hesitated, not daring to speak.

Li Yuanshi’s anger flared again. He roared, ”Speak! Now!!!”

The disciple trembled in fear and stammered, ”It... It was Brother Li’s own idea... He wanted to curry favor with Brother Dong...”

Hearing this, Li Yuanshi became apoplectic with rage.

BAM!

He slammed his palm down, and the table beside him exploded into splinters!

”Idiot!!! What a complete idiot!”

”How many times did I tell him not to get involved in these matters!”

”And still he went and threw himself right into it!!!”

Li Yuanshi roared, his voice laced with madness.

After a moment, Li Yuanshi slowly regained his composure.

No matter how stupid Li Weishan had been, he was still his son.
