I Grind to Martial Saint

The Corpse Concealing Daoist picked up the Bell from the Magic Altar and began chanting an evil, strange Spell.

Soon, the blood in the Three-legged Skull Furnace began to tremble, then a large amount of eerie, bloody mist spread out from it.

This bloody mist continued to expand, rapidly spreading from the secret chamber to fill Yuan Province City.

”KILL!!!”

At this moment in Yuan Province City, all four city gates were under a frenzied assault.

「East City Gate.」

The soldiers of the Wind and Thunder Army were exceptionally brave. After pushing the Cloud Ladders against the city walls, they scrambled to be the first to charge up.

For an ordinary soldier, being the first to scale the walls meant glory and gold.

This was why they were so fearless in the face of death.

But the defenders of Yuan Province City were no pushovers.

Logs and boulders rained down on them.

Flesh and blood could not withstand such an onslaught. Many Wind and Thunder Army soldiers had their skulls instantly crushed, their brains splattering.

Yet even this could not halt the charge of the Wind and Thunder soldiers.

This was war.

Bloody and cruel.

Not far away, a simple Magic Altar had been erected.

For Abnormal People, setting up a Magic Altar allowed their Divine Soul Power to communicate more smoothly with the heavens and earth, making their Magic Techniques and Daoist Techniques more terrifyingly powerful.

Thus, as long as conditions permitted, every Abnormal Person would choose to erect a Magic Altar.

Zhang Cang, clad in a cyan Daoist Robe and holding a Peach Wood Sword, was chanting a Spell.

As he cast his spell, the once starlit night sky instantly grew dark and oppressive. Thick, dark clouds gathered, exceptionally gloomy.

BOOM!

A bolt of lightning as thick as an arm instantly struck the top of the East City Gate’s wall!

BANG!

The lightning bolt instantly struck a dozen Yuan Province City defenders dead.

Stray arcs of electricity even spread out, paralyzing dozens of nearby defenders.

Zhang Cang had controlled the lightning to fall right where a Cloud Ladder had been placed.

Seizing the opening Zhang Cang had created, more than a dozen figures charged up onto the wall.

”KILL!!!”

These Wind and Thunder Army soldiers wanted to carve out a breach.

But the Yuan Province City defenders frantically thrust at them with long spears.

SQUELCH!!!

In the blink of an eye, the Wind and Thunder Army soldiers were turned into pincushions.

Just then, Zhang Cang summoned another bolt of lightning.

BOOM!

The flash was so blinding it momentarily dazzled everyone.

In that same instant, a figure vaulted over the city wall, landed inside Yuan Province City, and quickly vanished into the shadows.

No one noticed this figure.

At that moment, an extremely bizarre change occurred at the city gate!

The dead bodies suddenly came back to life, brandishing weapons and letting out guttural roars as they madly charged the Wind and Thunder Army soldiers.

”It’s happening again...”

”That damn Demon Dao!”

”Damn it all!”

Seeing this, the soldiers of the Wind and Thunder Army were no longer surprised.

They had seen it too many times.

But when the defenders of Yuan Province City saw this, they became unusually excited.

They knew that the Mage was making his move.

Seeing this, Zhang Cang didn’t hesitate to have the horns sounded for a retreat.

The Wind and Thunder Army receded like the tide, leaving only the Evil Corpses roaring where they stood.

A dozen or so seconds later, the Evil Corpses seemed to lose some kind of power and suddenly collapsed to the ground.

”They’ve finally retreated...” Jiang Ming, who had long since arrived at the gate tower, finally let out a sigh of relief when he saw the Wind and Thunder Army retreating on all fronts.

Those two lightning bolts from Zhang Cang had made his heart pound.

’No matter what, I really have to deal with Zhang Cang,’ Jiang Ming muttered to himself. ’With him around, I can’t eat or sleep in peace.’

He decided he had to find the Corpse Concealing Daoist and discuss getting his master to come as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, on the streets of Yuan Province City, a figure was sneaking along like a phantom.

The most peculiar thing was the Orange Cat perched on the figure’s shoulder.

”Meow~ It stinks!”

”I, Lord Meow, can smell that stench from miles away!”

The Orange Cat said with great disgust.

”Alright. After this is over, I’ll get you ten pounds of dried fish.”

Han Yuan whispered.

”Now that’s more like it.”

The Orange Cat nodded in satisfaction.

Relying on its sense of smell, it continuously guided Han Yuan.

Soon, he arrived near a dilapidated temple.

”Meow~ That guy’s scent disappears right around here.”

The Orange Cat extended a small paw, pointing at the dilapidated temple ahead.

”So, he must be inside.”

Han Yuan grinned.

His boldness born from great skill, he walked straight into the dilapidated temple.

Just then, he heard a shifting sound.

The Corpse Concealing Daoist was just emerging from a hidden tunnel.

The Corpse Concealing Daoist was eager for Jiang Ming to fulfill his promise, so he had come out after sensing that Zhang Cang’s army had retreated.

But he never expected to see a figure standing in the temple when he emerged.

”Who are you?!”

The Corpse Concealing Daoist snapped in a low voice.

He was already covertly forming a hand seal.

”The man who’s here to kill you,” Han Yuan said with a smile.

”A joke! Just you alone?”

The Corpse Concealing Daoist was about to activate a Magic Technique.

But in the next moment...

A giant palm wreathed in Cyan-Black Demonic Qi descended upon his Skull, like the legendary Five Finger Mountain!

BANG!

Han Yuan’s power was simply too savage.

The Corpse Concealing Daoist’s head and the upper half of his body were smashed into a meat paste, collapsing to the ground.

”So fragile,” Han Yuan said, shaking his head.

”You, you...”

The Orange Cat shook its head.

”Alright, now that this Demon Dao is dealt with, Zhang Cang should be able to breach Yuan Province City.”

”Let’s go back.”

Han Yuan hadn’t expected things to go so smoothly.

”Meow~ Then let’s go, quickly.”

The Orange Cat didn’t want to stay here a moment longer.

Han Yuan left the temple with the Orange Cat and was about to turn into an alley when he brushed past someone.

”Who are you?” Han Yuan asked, narrowing his eyes.

A curfew had long been imposed on Yuan Province City; there was no one on the streets.

Moreover, Han Yuan could sense that this person’s aura was not weak. He likely had Martial Arts training, and his bearing was that of someone in a high position.

Jiang Ming hadn’t expected to encounter such a mysterious man either.

And this person had clearly just come from the dilapidated temple.

An ill premonition arose in his heart.

But Jiang Ming was, after all, a seasoned bureaucrat. He kept his expression neutral and said, ”Sir, in the middle of the night...”

Halfway through his sentence, Jiang Ming struck, slamming a palm straight toward Han Yuan’s chest.

He who strikes first gains the advantage; he who hesitates is lost!

Moreover, his strike was both fast and fierce, imbued with a sinister Palm Force aimed directly at Han Yuan’s heart.

Han Yuan smiled and sent out a seemingly slow palm strike of his own.

BANG!

PFFT!

As if struck by lightning, Jiang Ming was sent flying backward.

This time, Han Yuan had held back and didn’t kill Jiang Ming.

He felt the man’s identity was not simple; he might be of some use if handed over to Zhang Cang.

Soon, he took the unconscious Jiang Ming, vaulted back over the city wall, and dashed toward the Wind and Thunder Army’s camp.

Zhang Cang, Huang Xian’Er, Zhai Mu, and the others had been waiting at the camp entrance.

When they saw Han Yuan, their faces lit up with joy.

But when they saw the person dangling from Han Yuan’s hand, their eyes widened.

”Brother Han... where did you catch this person?” Zhang Cang couldn’t help but ask.

”This guy?”

”I ran into him on my way back after dealing with that Demon Dao.”

”He didn’t seem like a simple character, so I grabbed him.”

As he spoke, Han Yuan tossed Jiang Ming to the ground like a dead dog.

”Brother Han... this man is the Inspector of Yuan Province, Jiang Ming,” Zhang Cang couldn’t help but say.

”He’s Jiang Ming?!” Han Yuan was a little surprised himself. ”To think I’d run into him like that.”

”Brother Han, with you capturing this man, taking Yuan Province City should be effortless now,” Zhang Cang said with a laugh.

”Then I’ll leave him to you.”

Han Yuan nodded.

.....

「The next day.」

When Zhang Cang appeared at the city gate with Jiang Ming, the defenders of Yuan Province City lost all will to resist, throwing down their weapons and surrendering one after another.

And just like that, after several months, the Wind and Thunder Army had finally conquered Yuan Province City.

This also meant that the entire territory of Yuan Province had fallen into the hands of the Wind and Thunder Army.
