Ghost Catching System

”I am from the Netherworld Crossing Kingdom.”

Su Yao murmured, ”Netherworld Crossing Kingdom, a nation in the north of Tianqiong Province, destroyed by a neighboring nation thirty thousand years ago.”

The Ghost Shadow said bitterly, ”Has the Netherworld Crossing Kingdom been destroyed? And I’ve been trapped for thirty thousand years.”

It was clear that he felt very dejected.

Han Qianxue asked, ”Since you’re also an outsider, how do you know the whereabouts of the Supreme Yang Soldier?”

The Ghost Shadow replied, ”Back then, we weren’t the first ones to come in. We studied this place for a long time; many people entered back then, but not many managed to escape. This place is terribly frightening.”

”Besides the Formation, there are also numerous Corpse Chiefs in the Taiwu Holy Land. Some of these Corpse Chiefs have reached the level of the Corpse Emperor; they guard this land.”

Corpse Chiefs of the Corpse Emperor level.

The three were startled. Isn’t this place, except for the Heavenly Master Realm, unable to sustain other realms?

The Ghost Shadow said, ”Outsiders cannot enter, but the Corpse Chiefs here are different. They’ve been infected by the Corpse Demon Flower and have become its Guardians.”

The three were puzzled, and Su Yao murmured, ”Corpse Demon Flower?”

The Ghost Shadow said, ”This flower grows beneath the Earth Veins. They’ve occupied the Yang Source mine veins for countless years. Ancient Studies Scholars from our group suspected it was the reason for Taiwu Holy Land’s downfall.”

Han Qianxue exclaimed in surprise, ”The Taiwu Holy Land that once was one of the top forces in the Shanhai Realm was eradicated by a flower? I don’t believe it.”

The Ghost Shadow said fearfully, ”It’s not a normal flower. Anyone who comes into contact with it—whether Ghosts or Shanhai Beasts—will be assimilated and become a slave to the Corpse Demon Flower for eternity.”

Su Yao murmured, ”Perhaps I know what this flower is.”

Chu Hao, Han Qianxue, and the Ghost Shadow all looked at her.

Su Yao said, ”Recorded in the Shanhai Chronicles, during the Dark Ages, the Demon Flower descended from the heavens, devouring the Human World and rampant were the corpse demons.”

Han Qianxue said, ”Could it be the Foreign Ghost?”

Su Yao said, ”No, the Demon Flower’s trace disappeared because it was uprooted by the Foreign Ghost.”

”Legend has it, the Demon Flower consumes any creature, absorbs anything and turns it into nourishment. If it eradicated Taiwu Holy Land, it’s not impossible.”

”The greatest flower of heaven and earth; it can swallow mountains, seas, the sky. Its pistil holds a mysterious kingdom and it nurtures the corpse realm.”

Listening to her speak, the origins of the Demon Flower seem immense indeed.

Han Qianxue said, ”However, we’ve been here for over a month and haven’t seen any Corpse Chiefs.”

The Ghost Shadow said helplessly, ”They’re underground protecting the Corpse Demon Flower. That’s how it was back then; we studied this place for roughly ten years before the Corpse Demon Flower made its move.”

Su Yao said, ”The Demon Flower surely feels that not enough people have entered yet. Perhaps its target isn’t us minor figures, but the Sages.”

The Ghost Shadow said, ”Precisely. Back then, two Yin Yang Saints were devoured.”

Han Qianxue said, ”In that case, some Sages outside have already noticed this place, and the Corpse Demon Flower is just waiting for more people to come.”

This news is too important; Han Qianxue must inform Taizong.

Unfortunately, this place is extremely strange, even the Stone Talisman can’t send messages out.

Chu Hao said, ”Let’s grab the loot and leave.”

Su Yao also nodded.

With the Ghost Shadow leading the way, after a day’s journey, they arrived at the destination—one of Taiwu’s treasuries.

Through the fog, they saw a vast mountain range.

The Ghost Shadow said, ”It’s up there. After all these years, I don’t know if the treasury has been found.”

Chu Hao asked, ”The Supreme Yang Soldier you mentioned, is it here too?”

The Ghost Shadow nodded, ”Yes.”

Han Qianxue was excited, and even Su Yao showed surprise.

The Supreme Yang Soldier, a Divine Weapon that even Yin Yang Saints covet, inciting fierce battles.

The Ghost Shadow said, ”However, there are countless Formations here and unparalleled fierce formations. Back then, countless people died trying to find even a corner of the treasury.”

Then isn’t it extremely dangerous up there?

Chu Hao said, ”You’re telling me this place; don’t expect me to go and die, right?”

The Ghost Shadow said helplessly, ”Finding the treasury, ninety percent depends on luck. It’s your decision whether to go or not.”

Chu Hao chuckled and said, ”You’re coming up with me.”

The Ghost Shadow shrieked, ”No! I finally escaped from the dry well, leaving only a Ghost behind. I don’t want to be reduced to dust with nothing left. Please, just bury my remains anywhere.”

Chu Hao kicked the Ghost Shadow and said, ”Trying to deceive me? Do you think Brother Hao is that easy to fool?”

”Being trapped in the dry well is true; if I bury you, wouldn’t your Ghost be free? Then you could do whatever you want and even persuade us to clear a path for you.”

The Ghost Shadow cried, ”I really didn’t.”

Chu Hao sneered, ”If you won’t talk, then come along with me.”

The Ghost Shadow wailed since his body was in Chu Hao’s hands, ”I’ll tell you everything I know if you spare me.”

Chu Hao showed a toothy grin and said, ”You really were deceiving me.”

Chu Hao wielded the Ghost-whipping Whip, lashing the Ghost Shadow, making the latter scream in pain and beg for mercy, revealing everything.

The Ghost Shadow trembled and said, ”I have a map of this place, indicating the treasury’s location. Please stop hitting.”

Chu Hao sneered, ”Then why didn’t you just say so? Where’s the map?”

The Ghost Shadow shivered, ”The map has dried out, but I’ve memorized it. If you kill me, it’s gone.”

Chu Hao said, ”Lead the way. Don’t try any tricks. While I have your corpse, I have a hundred ways to make your Ghost prefer death over life.”

Han Qianxue noticed Chu Hao’s extraordinary vigilance. In truth, she also found the Ghost Shadow’s previous statements full of loopholes.

The Ghost Shadow was too eager to get out, which is why Chu Hao discovered the flaw.

They were preparing to go up the mountain.

Suddenly, the surrounding fog started dissipating.

Not only in this area but the whole ancient ruin was enveloped in fog, and now it was dissipating.

Under the bright sunshine, the sky cleared.

The fog here suddenly dispersed.

Chu Hao and the others were puzzled and all looked at the Ghost Shadow.

The Ghost Shadow said, ”From what I know, the fog here is part of a Formation, created to conceal this place. After a great battle, the Formation became unstable, sometimes appearing, sometimes disappearing.”

Without the fog, the mountain range’s outline appeared, and some ancient ruins were visible.

”Let’s go.”

The Ghost Shadow suddenly said, ”To enter the treasury, I need one item. If you don’t agree, even if I’m reduced to dust, I won’t lead you there.”

This guy has a plan.

”What do you want!” Chu Hao asked.

The Ghost Shadow said seriously, ”The Reincarnation Lamp; I want it.”

Su Yao looked at the Ghost Shadow and said, ”You want to resurrect?”

”This is my only chance. I just want the Reincarnation Lamp,” the Ghost Shadow said.

Chu Hao agreed, but the Ghost Shadow wasn’t reassured and asked Chu Hao to take an oath.

Chu Hao smiled and said, ”Alright, I’ll swear.”

The Ghost Shadow was very cautious and made Chu Hao take a blood oath, promising that if he failed in his vow, he would be tormented by a Heart Demon.

Afterwards, they ascended the mountain.
