Let’s Squander A Billion First!

Chapter 1886: Chapter 1886: Magic Apostle (7)

The sky was clear, and inside the classroom, the students gathered in groups of threes and fours.

As soon as the class bell rang, the students who had previously dawdled during class and would chat for half a day quickly sat down, and the classroom fell silent.

A woman with a tidy appearance and graying hair entered from outside the classroom, nodding with satisfaction at the discipline.

”Today, we will continue to study the structure of Magic Arrays. Everyone, open your books...”

Although magic can solve many things, the academy believes that books carry knowledge, which is a tradition. Therefore, even when direct magic demonstrations can be used, theoretical knowledge is still taught using books.

This mentor is known for being strict and strongly dislikes students who do not bring their books to her class.

When Elsa rustled through her desk without finding the required book, she caught the mentor’s attention.

She clearly remembered putting it here. How could it have gone missing?

Elsa was about to borrow her desk mate’s book when the mentor called her name: ”Elsa, where is your book?”

Elsa: ”...”

”Stand up!”

The mentor did not give any face to this young lady.

Elsa looked unpleasant, her face burning hot: ”Mentor, I...”

The mentor supported herself against the lectern: ”I stated the rules in the first lesson. Go stand outside.”

Elsa: ”...”

A young lady like Elsa has never been treated this way.

But this mentor is different; she doesn’t give face to anyone and is famously impartial.

She is one of the few Great Magicians.

In this world, magicians are divided into seven levels: Apprentice Magician, Junior Magician, Intermediate Magician, Senior Magician, Great Magician, Archmage, and Saint Archmage.

There are few Archmages in the Western Continent, and it’s been a long time since anyone was called a Saint Archmage.

Even the number of Great Magicians in the Western Continent is low, most only reach Senior Magician and cannot be promoted to Great Magician.

This mentor holds a high status in the academy. Elsa is not even a Junior Magician yet; how could she possibly oppose her?

Elsa’s face turned red, even her ears, as humiliation swirled in her mind.

Who did this?

Nina?

Or...

Elsa suddenly met a gaze, belonging to someone who rested their chin on one hand, eyes indifferent as though looking at something irrelevant.

Light flashed in Elsa’s mind: It’s her!!

She’s been trying to get people to teach her a lesson these past two days, but it has yet to succeed.

Either she’s avoided it, or the people suddenly chickened out.

Elsa couldn’t understand, why had she changed so much? Could she have been switched?

That doesn’t seem right...

If she was switched, she would’ve imitated the original her; how could she dare to be so brazen?

The more Elsa thought about it, the stranger it seemed. Was the previous behavior all an act?

Being punished to stand and witnessed by her arch-rival Nina, Elsa was filled with murderous intent.

”Xue Laiya!”

Elsa blocked Chuzheng on the road after school, seemingly intentionally choosing a spot where no one was around.

”What’s the matter?” The scoundrel came knocking at her door, with no one around. Life was about to be fulfilled!

Elsa had no idea Chuzheng was excited.

”You did this, didn’t you? Xue Laiya, you really have some skills! Don’t forget, your mother is still at my house. The things you’re doing are making things difficult for your mother...”

”Ah!”

Before Elsa could finish talking, the world spun, and she landed on her rear, her head buzzing.

Elsa felt the pain and tears began streaming: ”You... What do you want to do?”

Chuzheng bent down to meet Elsa’s eyes, speaking word by word: ”To prevent you from causing trouble, I need a bit of precaution.”

”Wh... what?”

Precaution for what?

What does she intend to do?

Unease welled up in Elsa’s heart.

She immediately chanted quietly, fire sprouting from her palm, gradually gathering into a fireball.

”Fireball Technique!”

The fireball flew from her palm, aiming towards Chuzheng.

Chuzheng raised a hand and waved, the sleeve fluttering, and Elsa saw a silver glimmer in her eyes as the fireball was stopped invisibly, then trapped by something and rapidly compressed until it disappeared.

Elsa’s pupil contracted slightly.

How could this be...

She clearly is a waste, without any magical gift.

Why can she deflect her magic?

Elsa continued chanting curses, unintelligible words spilling from her throat, as the Fire Elements in the air became active.

”Wrapping Fire!”

Elsa shouted softly, flames as thick as arms extended from the ground, snaking towards Chuzheng.

Flames wrapped around Chuzheng’s ankle, Elsa delightedly continued chanting.

However, contrary to Elsa’s expectation, the flames did not continue upward, silently extinguishing.

Chill ran up Elsa’s spine.

Who... what is she?

How could it be?

How did she put out the flames? Was it magic?

Great Magicians can perform instant magic, using magic without chanting curses. She, a waste...

Elsa’s head was filled with questions, but now wasn’t the time to ponder them.

”Fire Shield!”

Elsa cast another spell, running quickly towards the exit.

Too spooky, she needed to leave first.

Just as she was about to exit, she stumbled on something unknown, losing her balance and fell forward.

Elsa looked towards her foot; it was perfectly clean, nothing there...

”Xue Laiya, what do you want! Don’t you come over! If you dare do anything to me, my father won’t spare you, nor your mother!”

Elsa’s threat had no effect.

Chuzheng looked down at her, lips parting slightly: ”Don’t worry, I’m a good person.”

Elsa: ”???”

A good person?

How dare you say those words?

-

Half an hour later.

Chuzheng held a Magic Scroll, extremely pleased: ”This thing is quite handy.”

Elsa’s face turned livid, clutching her clothes as if she had been coerced, glaring at Chuzheng with hatred and anger.

Chuzheng shook the Magic Scroll in her hand: ”Miss Elsa, if you continue to trouble me, I won’t know who this scroll might fall into.”

Chuzheng paused, then leisurely continued: ”There are quite a few admirers of you in the academy, I’m sure someone will like it.”

”You...”

Elsa’s eyes flushed red, tears streaming down, unable to utter more than two words: ”You dare!!”

Chuzheng spoke calmly: ”As long as you don’t bother me, we can temporarily have some peace.”

Surely, being a negative example of a socialist successor feels more exhilarating.

Elsa: ”...”

Elsa glared at the Magic Scroll in Chuzheng’s hand.

It was a Magic Scroll capable of capturing images, and as its magic was difficult to learn, it was expensive. Even the Charles Family had only a few; where did she get one?

Chuzheng put away the Magic Scroll, leisurely leaving.
