Let’s Squander A Billion First!

Chapter 1657: Chapter 1657: His Excellency (9)

Yin ’Dead Eunuch’ Shen is currently on his way to apprehend someone.

The people following Yin Shen are all ready to break in, but unexpectedly, when they arrive, Yin Shen actually lets someone go up and knock on the door.

Everyone: ”...”

Has the Lord turned over a new leaf?

He actually needs to knock?

But whatever the Lord orders, no one dares to question.

The door quickly opens, and Jin Zhi is startled by this group outside, nearly thinking they were there for a raid.

On second thought, that’s not right, Princess Changhuan is here.

Yin Shen wraps his cloak around him, standing at the back, showing no intention to speak, so the eunuch knocking has to inquire.

”May I ask if Her Highness the Princess is here?”

Jin Zhi glances at Yin Shen at the back, cautiously nodding.

The eunuch says, ”Could the young lady please inform Her Highness the Princess that we are here to escort Her Highness back.”

Jin Zhi: ”...”

Jin Zhi finds it strange, her quiet companion hardly ever speaks, could go a whole day without a word. Occasionally, when he does speak, it’s sharp and biting, so why does Princess Changhuan seem to like her so much?

Jin Zhi goes inside to call Princess Changhuan.

Upon hearing that Yin Shen personally came to fetch her, Princess Changhuan lowers the foot she had perched on the window sill, tidies her skirt, and in distress bids farewell to Chuzheng.

”I should go back now.”

”I’ll see you out,” says Chuzheng unexpectedly.

Previously, Princess Changhuan never received such a courtesy; she would come and go as she pleased, as if Chuzheng didn’t care about her at all.

If it were someone else, they would have long been punished.

Princess Changhuan hesitates for a moment, then quickly nods happily: ”Alright, alright.”

Now she gets annoyed just seeing that dead eunuch.

Yin ’Dead Eunuch’ Shen is standing outside, his gaze fixed on the end of the corridor where a lone flower stands, surrounded by lush green. It looks like it’s intruding on a world where it doesn’t belong.

Hearing footsteps, Yin Shen retracts his gaze, looking towards the door.

Princess Changhuan and Chuzheng emerge side by side.

Princess Changhuan has a charming appearance, sweet and cute, like a spoiled, slightly bratty neighbor’s little sister.

Chuzheng’s features are exquisite, her eyes cool and serene, with an aura of chill surrounding her.

The two standing together, there’s an indescribable sense of beauty.

Princess Changhuan sees Yin Shen and her face sinks: ”Ghost Spirit.”

”Don’t worry, Princess. Once we’re back at the palace, you won’t see me anymore.” Yin Shen’s tone is neither cold nor warm, his gaze sweeps past Chuzheng.

Princess Changhuan puffs her cheeks in anger, pushing away the obstructing eunuchs and leaving.

Yin Shen nods slightly at Chuzheng, and then departs with his entourage.

Princess Changhuan returns to bury herself under the covers, while Yin Shen, without avoiding suspicion, goes in directly and pulls her blanket off, looking at her from above.

”Princess really likes that girl?”

”None of your business.”

”Oh.” Yin Shen adjusts his cloak, his eyebrows cold: ”I was thinking, Princess, since you like that girl so much, you could go find her. But since you said that, forget it.”

Yin Shen turns to leave.

Princess Changhuan grabs Yin Shen’s cloak: ”Will you keep your word?”

Yin Shen turns back, retrieves his cloak: ”With conditions.”

Princess Changhuan glares at Yin Shen, pulls the blanket over her head, and shouts angrily: ”I knew you were up to no good! You might as well drive me to death!”

”You won’t listen to my conditions?”

Princess Changhuan abruptly sits up: ”I will listen!”

Yin Shen seems to have anticipated this, not showing surprise: ”Princess must complete a blessing ritual every day... ”

Before Yin Shen can finish speaking, Princess Changhuan’s face collapses.

Yin Shen, however, ignores her, and continues: ”When going to that girl’s place, you must be accompanied by me.”

Princess Changhuan blinks: ”Why?”

Yin Shen: ”Is the Princess aware of who she is? Didn’t you have any sense of danger when you encountered the assassin before? Protecting Her Highness is my duty, should anything happen to Her Highness, I cannot answer to Your Majesty.”

”She saved me.” You, a eunuch, don’t even know martial arts, how can you protect me!

Of course, Princess Changhuan doesn’t say that.

Yin Shen might not know martial arts, but those around him do.

”History has many such incidents, does the Princess think everyone who saves you is a good person?”

Princess Changhuan: ”...”

Princess Changhuan’s little mind spins twice, probably unable to find any fault in Yin Shen’s words.

But thinking that doubting her savior isn’t good, she bangs her bed angrily: ”She’s different, she’s nice! Don’t you dare speak ill of her!”

Others, because of her princess status, speak meekly and timidly.

So encountering someone who disregards her status and is even her savior like Chuzheng, Princess Changhuan is filled with wonder.

If you ask if she truly trusts Chuzheng, she doesn’t.

She just wants someone to talk to and to defy Yin Shen.

Make him mind his own business.

If it weren’t for him, her previously perfect ’leaving the palace’ plan wouldn’t have failed every time.

Yin Shen tugs at the corner of his mouth: ”Does Her Highness agree or not?”

Princess Changhuan snorts coldly, slips off the bed, and directly heads out towards the blessing site.

Yin Shen’s smile grows larger, stepping out of the room, appearing much more lighthearted.

”The Lord seems to be in a good mood?”

”Seems like it...”

”Did you bully the Princess again? She stormed off just now...”

”...”

Everyone silently mourns for Princess Changhuan.

If they didn’t remember their Lord is a eunuch, they might have wandered into inappropriate thoughts.

-

The next day.

Chuzheng sees Princess Changhuan, brought to the door by Yin Shen following behind, without a change in expression.

Since the Good Person Card is brought, then begrudgingly tolerate you.

”He insists on tagging along; otherwise, he won’t let me come,” Princess Changhuan complains: ”Do you think he’s insane.”

Chuzheng: ”...”

The notoriously capricious Yin Shen now smiles, politely saying: ”Trouble the young lady.”

Princess Changhuan shivers a bit, pulling Chuzheng to the side: ”Have you heard of his reputation?”

”Yes.”

Princess Changhuan: ”He’s acting strangely, no idea what’s wrong, let’s find a chance to ditch him.”

”...” No, I don’t want to.

He’s my Good Person Card, he brought himself here, I’m glad, why would I ditch him!

”You don’t seem afraid of him?”

”Afraid of what? I’m the princess, what’s he gonna do, kill me?” Princess Changhuan snorts coldly.

No matter how powerful, Yin Shen is just a eunuch. Unless he plans to overthrow the entire dynasty, if he just wants to be a villainous eunuch regent, there’s really no need to kill royalty.

On the first day, Yin Shen only speaks when he arrives and when he leaves.

The second day, it’s the same, seemingly just accompanying Princess Changhuan.

The third day, Yin Shen asks what kind of tea Chuzheng is having.

Chuzheng knows nothing about the tea; Jin Zhi manages all that.

”You like it?”

Yin Shen is not shy: ”Fresh and sweet, haven’t had good tea like this in a long time, it’s nice.”

Chuzheng: ”Jin Zhi, give all the remaining tea to the Lord.”

”...”

The tea is worth a fortune, and there’s only a little left, you’re giving it all away?
