Let’s Squander A Billion First!

Chapter 1065: Chapter 1065: Star Era Guide (15)

When Xie Wanwan arrived, the area was already filled with tents.

Chuzheng was sitting in front of one of the tents, looking at them with an indifferent expression. Her leisurely demeanor almost made Xie Wanwan lose her breath.

The military training in the Star Era is a true-to-life, genuine forest combat, which can also be seen as a competition in the style of military training.

A tradition of the Empire Academy.

Every freshman goes through this process.

However, some people see this as a military-style outing. If they don’t care about gaining points, they just need to find someone to end it for them, and they can go sightseeing or have a springtime romance.

Of course, points come with rewards.

They also add bonuses to the final assessment, so most people take it seriously.

First comes the inter-departmental headcount competition; as long as they’re not from the same department, everyone is an enemy.

The Empire Academy has a vast array of messy departments. If they were all put together, it would be overly chaotic.

So they are divided into zones. The location they’re at now is Zone F.

In the inter-departmental competition, a larger group naturally has the advantage.

Of course... sacrificing oneself also has its benefits.

One head equals one point.

Points can also be seized.

After the inter-departmental competition, it’s the individual competition.

The individual competition has no requirements. Participate if you want to; don’t if you don’t want to. It’s very humane.

”Boss, are we going to participate too?”

”Why not?” Chuzheng stared at the scoring equipment Jing Lan tossed over.

How could she pass up such a good opportunity?

She believed that Xie Wanwan wouldn’t let her go either.

So it’s clear—strike first to gain the upper hand!

”But in our department... there’s just the two of us.” Xiao Jiu shivered.

Compared to other departments at the Empire Academy, which have at least a dozen people.

They were really unfortunate.

Plus, they had a teacher who didn’t care at all.

Chuzheng, the big boss: ”What are you afraid of?”

Winning isn’t important; the key is to pay tribute to Xie Wanwan!

[...] Pay tribute, really? Is there anything you wouldn’t say?

Chuzheng had Xiao Jiu put on the equipment.

Chuzheng grabbed Xiao Jiu and headed towards the gathering point: ”Let’s go.” I’ll take you flying.

Xiao Jiu: ”...” Sob sob sob.

She wanted to go back to her little wretched planet.

As Chuzheng and Xiao Jiu left, someone uncovered the tent from behind.

Jing Lan bent down to come out, followed closely by Professor Wei: ”Jing Lan, what do you think of that little girl?”

Jing Lan withdrew his gaze: ”I don’t know.”

”I think she’s quite good, has personality.”

”If you like her personality, you can have her. Why tell me?”

”Heh heh.” Professor Wei smirked without humor: ”If you weren’t quick, would she be in your department?! That approval stamp was so fast and clean!”

”...”

Jing Lan said nothing.

”...Still no news?”

Jing Lan shrugged his clothes onto his shoulder, impatiently said: ”Are you idle? Don’t your students need your care?”

Professor Wei: ”...”

Professor Wei took a deep breath, his face displaying the large word ’endure’.

-

”Yo, are you two going to participate too?”

As Chuzheng and Xiao Jiu approached, someone immediately mocked.

”Just don’t knock out as soon as you go in.”

This comment caused a burst of laughter.

”Hey, why don’t you follow us, run errands for us, and we’ll take you along?”

There were also some people around who were clueless, watching in silence.

”Who are they? I haven’t seen them around?”

”Seems to be... from the Paleobiology Department.”

”Ah, anyone from that department?”

”Isn’t that Jing Lan... that murderer. How does he have the nerve to stay in school? And these two have the guts to enter the Paleobiology Department...”

”Anything to enter the Academy, right?” A girl who had been taught a lesson by Chuzheng sneered: ”The Paleobiology Department doesn’t even need other tests; it’s a waste department where you can enter by just answering questions.”

Chuzheng stood on the outskirts, facing these people, appearing unfazed and indifferent.

Without a response, those people felt a bit awkward instead.

”What are you pretending?”

”We’ll see how well you do once inside!”

As these people took turns shouting, one of them fell over for no known reason, followed by a domino effect that left them kneeling on the ground.

Unluckily for them, a few ended up kneeling right in front of Chuzheng.

Chuzheng stood with hands on her hips, expressionless as she looked down at them: ”At ease.”

”...”

”...”

The scene was eerily quiet.

Just as these individuals were about to make trouble, a whistle sounded, and Chuzheng strode off in that direction.

Her icy demeanor compelled those around her to involuntarily make a path.

-

Jungle.

Each department was dropped into different locations, with only Chuzheng and Xiao Jiu around here, leaving just the two of them in this area.

This zone had been cleared; aside from some harmless small animals, there were no large fierce creatures.

That’s the official statement.

But...

Xiao Jiu stared at the half-person high rabbit in front: ”This... is considered no large fierce animals?” Xiao Jiu had been scraping by at the bottom, but she’d never roughed it in the jungle and was confused by the jungle’s rules.

Many animals in the Star Era had mutated, but their habits hadn’t changed much.

Herbivores were still herbivores; they wouldn’t evolve into carnivores.

The half-person high rabbit squatted in the grass munching, its ears occasionally perking up.

”Let’s go catch it.” Chuzheng’s hands itched.

Furry.

It looked very soft!

Catch it!

”Huh?”

While Xiao Jiu was still ’huh’-ing, Chuzheng had already dashed out.

As soon as the rabbit heard the noise, it bolted.

Xiao Jiu belatedly chased after, catching up only to find Chuzheng already hugging the rabbit. The fluffy bundle nearly enveloped Chuzheng.

”Huff, huff...” Xiao Jiu gasped, resting her hands on her knees: ”Boss, are we going to eat it?”

Chuzheng was horrified: ”Eat it, for what?”

Such a cute bunny, why would I eat it? Isn’t it good to just pet it?

”...”

If you’re not eating it, why catch it?!

It turned out, Chuzheng caught the rabbit purely for the tactile pleasure of petting its fur.

Xiao Jiu: ”...” What kind of refined hobby is this, boss?

Chuzheng, satisfied after petting the fur, lay on a rock to bask in the sun.

”Bastard, where is Xie Wanwan?”

[Miss, please don’t be lazy, you should rely on yourself~]

Chuzheng stopped asking, released the rabbit, and got up to find Xie Wanwan.

During that time, they encountered several groups of people, but Chuzheng avoided them, not wanting direct conflict.

Her purpose for entering here was solely for Xie Wanwan.

Target clear.

No three-timing.

Absolutely not a jerk.

[...] Why are you bringing jerks into this conversation again?!

After groping around the jungle for a day, Chuzheng finally came across people from Xie Wanwan’s department, although Xie Wanwan wasn’t there. Chuzheng had to follow them back to their base.

Xie Wanwan, possessing spiritual power, was responsible for blocking the signal throughout the camp.

Yes, they had signal devices, which would alert them when both parties were within twenty meters.

But if there’s a Spiritual Power Practitioner, it’s like having a cheat code to completely block it.

Night fell.

Many people gathered in groups within the campgrounds, creating a lively atmosphere.

Chuzheng waited until everyone in the camp had gone to sleep, patting Xiao Jiu on the shoulder and assigning her a task: ”You stay here.”

Xiao Jiu: ”...” I might as well be a vase.
