Apocalypse Descends: I Win Effortlessly by Turning Trash into Treasure

Seeing this, everyone knew it was the work of a ”Ghost” hiding among the players. And now, that Ghost had most likely already left.

The crowd stared at the man’s body on the ground, their expressions utterly cold. Not a single person seemed angry or sad about his death.

After all, in this game, weakness was the greatest sin.

”Fam, the Ghost struck super fast this time. Someone’s already been brutally taken out. I don’t know if I’ll make it back alive this time. Get those gifts ready, fam! I’m about to take you all on a tour of this amusement park and find the real culprit.”

Hearing the voice, Perry Yates turned to see a familiar person talking to himself in the middle of nowhere.

She had seen this person during the first round of the game.

’Is he... live streaming?’

Watching him, Perry Yates formed a suspicion.

Fortunately, she changed her appearance after every game. He probably wouldn’t recognize her as she was now.

Looking back at the corpse on the ground, Perry Yates used her Retrospect Skill. Soon, a memory fragment appeared in her mind.

’It was her?’

Perry Yates was shocked by the killer’s identity. No wonder the victim had looked so surprised and unwilling to accept his fate.

While everyone was immersed in their game of cat and mouse, the entire amusement park was gradually enveloped in a layer of green.

Countless roses and wild roses slowly bloomed, and soon, the amusement park had transformed into a sea of flowers.

During this time, some people sensed something was wrong and tried to destroy the plants’ roots. However, every time they made a move, they were met with a fierce attack from the vines.

After about an hour, Perry Yates had every facility in the amusement park firmly under her control.

With this, the regular players could no longer eliminate the ”Ghosts.”

A smug smile appeared on Perry Yates’s face.

’A game of hide-and-seek? I’ll just flip the whole table.’

Unnoticed by anyone, Perry Yates made her way to the very top of the Ferris wheel. The view was best from here, and she decided to spend the rest of her time there, deepening her control over the amusement park.

’As for the mission to eliminate as many regular players as possible... there are other Ghosts, right? It shouldn’t be a big deal if I sit this one out.’

Besides, the game never said all regular players *had* to be eliminated, which meant it wasn’t a mandatory task.

Perry Yates guessed it was most likely used to determine the ”Ghost” players’ rankings later on. Whoever killed the most would get to pick their reward first.

Perry Yates wasn’t bothered by this, as she was certain she could get what she wanted regardless.

After all, no one would be stupid enough to pass up a starred card for a starless, useless White Card.

Perry Yates took out a screen that displayed surveillance feeds from all over the amusement park.

Ever since the amusement park’s facilities had been encased in plants, it was easy to determine everyone’s roles based on their reactions.

Those who looked anxious and tried to destroy the plants were definitely regular players. As for those who feigned anxiety but whose eyes held no trace of it—and perhaps even a hint of schadenfreude—they were the Ghost players.

The Ghost players seemed to realize this was the work of a ”teammate.” Their biggest worry had just been taken care of, meaning they could now go all out.

「Elsewhere.」

Donovan Wyatt looked at the surrounding plants and the sea of blooming flowers, then said to his stream viewers, ”This scene looks awfully familiar... Don’t tell me I’ve run into an old friend.”

(Old friend? You mean the Croupier from before?)

(I don’t see what’s so familiar, but besides a few of the top-ranked pros, the only one who could pull off something this big—Sealing an entire amusement park—is the Croupier.)

(Awesome! They just bypassed the rules, so now the regular players can’t expose the Ghosts. This nips the danger right in the bud. Why didn’t I ever think of a brilliant method like this?)

(It’s useless. Even if you thought of it, you probably couldn’t do it. I just checked—these plants aren’t even scared of fire. Their level must be really high.)

(Streamer’s screwed, lol. Didn’t get matched with a god-tier teammate this time.)

Inappropriate voices gloating over his misfortune appeared in the stream chat, all from people who wanted to see Donovan Wyatt fail.

But just then, Donovan Wyatt gave a mysterious smile and said, ”Who says I didn’t get matched with a god-tier teammate this time?”

The moment he finished speaking, the chat was instantly flooded with ellipses and exclamation points.

(Streamer, what do you mean? You’re a Ghost!)

Donovan Wyatt didn’t say a word, but the smile on his face told everyone the answer.

’That’s right. He, Donovan Wyatt, had once again been matched with a god-tier teammate and was about to be carried to his second victory of the day.’

At the same time, Perry Yates, still on the Ferris wheel, also spotted Donovan Wyatt.

Ever since she realized Donovan Wyatt might be live streaming, Perry Yates had been curious about him.

’You can even live stream the game?’

’Is it a Talent, a Skill, or an item?’

’And who are the viewers?’

’Or maybe... it isn’t a Talent, Skill, or item at all, but just a normal live stream. That would mean the survival game arrived on his planet much earlier than the earliest I’m aware of.’

Perry Yates was incredibly curious, but because of her identity as the Croupier, she didn’t dare approach Donovan Wyatt, especially while he was streaming. One careless move and her face would be exposed.

With that thought, Perry Yates used her plants to attach a Space Grass seed to Donovan Wyatt’s body.

”I hope you can survive this,” she murmured.

「Four hours passed quickly.」

Perry Yates stretched in her Ferris wheel car. Before her were the rewards for this round of the game.

Although she hadn’t actively killed any regular players this round, she couldn’t help it if they got themselves killed.

Out of a total of ten Ghost players, Perry Yates ranked fourth—a very high placement.

From the array of completion rewards, Perry Yates zeroed in on the one she wanted: a thick-looking stack of cards—twenty White Cards.

Moreover, perhaps because Perry Yates had completely transformed the amusement park into a garden, all the rewards this time were Wood Attribute cards. They were all flower-type plants, with a majority being roses.

After choosing her reward, Perry Yates expected to be sent immediately into the fourth round. Instead, she was teleported out of the game.

Her eyes filled with vigilance as she scanned the unfamiliar surroundings.

”Today’s game of hide-and-seek is now closing. Players, please exit in an orderly fashion. See you all tomorrow!”
