Giant Dragon Lord: Starting from Daily Intelligence

Chapter 525: Chapter 407: The Knight Tournament in Progress

His power, endurance, and recovery speed were all quietly increasing during the battle.

He was like a piece of uncut jade—rough on the outside, but holding a breathtaking brilliance within.

”Hah!”

On the arena stage, the burly man wielding a Great Sword was growing impatient after his prolonged, unsuccessful attacks.

He roared, pouring all his Fighting Spirit into the Great Sword and unleashing a powerful, heavy-handed horizontal sweep, attempting to defeat Nord in a single blow.

Faced with a blow powerful enough to slice a man in half at the waist, a sharp glint flashed in Nord’s eyes.

He didn’t choose to block this time.

The instant the Great Sword was about to strike him, his body snapped back at an angle impossible for an ordinary person. He became nearly parallel to the ground, narrowly—so narrowly—dodging the fatal blade.

Immediately after, he pivoted on his waist, unleashing a burst of force.

The Long Sword in his hand shot out like a viper striking from its den. It thrust upward with a sharp whistle, stabbing viciously at the opening the burly man had exposed by overextending himself.

The lower abdomen.

”SQUELCH!”

The muffled sound of a sharp blade sinking into flesh.

The burly man’s body suddenly went rigid.

He looked down, staring in disbelief at the wound in his abdomen, then back at the ”rookie” he had been dominating. His eyes filled with unwillingness and confusion.

The wound wasn’t fatal, but he had lost his right to continue in this match.

The turnaround was lightning-fast, too quick for anyone to even react.

One moment, Nord was being suppressed, completely unable to fight back.

The next, his opponent had already collapsed in a pool of blood.

The stark contrast left the onlookers who had just been mocking him utterly dumbfounded, as if they had each been slapped hard across the face.

”Wh-what just happened?”

”How did he dodge that sword just now? And that thrust... so fast!”

A satisfied smile appeared on Raylo’s face.

This Nord not only possessed immense potential but also had the calm heart of a true warrior.

He knew how to be patient, how to feign weakness to his enemy, and more importantly, how to seize a fleeting opportunity at the most critical moment to deliver a fatal blow.

With just a little nurturing, a person like him was destined to become a pillar of strength, capable of holding his own.

Time flowed by like the clouds above Black Stone Territory, passing quietly amidst the fierce battles of the Knights and the earth-shaking cheers of the spectators.

In the blink of an eye, half a month had passed.

The unprecedentedly grand Knight tournament was finally nearing its end.

For all the participating Knights, this half-month had been an incredibly brutal and hard-fought struggle.

Over one thousand Knights had gone through round after round of brutal one-on-one elimination matches, and in the end, only a few dozen remained to enter the final rounds.

Every victory was hard-earned.

Every Knight who managed to distinguish themselves from over a thousand competitors was worthy of the title ”elite.”

For half a month, the entirety of Black Stone Territory had been immersed in a fanatical atmosphere.

Every day, from dawn until dusk, battle never ceased on the three massive arena stages.

In the Knight arena, the spirited young Tier One Knights clashed in the most direct way, using pure courage and sweat.

Their battles were filled with a passion that made the blood boil.

In the Grand Knight Arena, the duels were more about technique and Fighting Spirit.

All sorts of Combat Skills and methods for using Fighting Spirit emerged one after another, dazzling the spectators.

Every match brought great benefit to the spectating Low Tier Knights.

But the most eye-catching was undoubtedly the Earth Knight arena.

Twenty-six Earth Knights had competed fiercely, being the first to enter the finals, and now, only the last four remained.

During this half-month, aside from handling some necessary territory affairs, Raylo had spent most of his time with Avril on the castle’s terrace, watching this grand event that he himself had orchestrated.

Many of the Knights Raylo had been watching achieved impressive results in the arenas.

Fenrir, the taciturn Ice Bloodline Knight, had cut a swath through his opponents, forcefully advancing into the finals of the Earth Knight arena with an almost invincible presence.

His Frost Power had become a nightmare for all his opponents.

Evelyn, the beautiful Half-Elf Archer, had likewise displayed her nigh-divine Archery skills in the Grand Knight Arena.

To this day, not a single opponent had been able to break through her rain of arrows, which was like a snare cast from heaven and earth, or even get within ten paces of her.

She too had entered the finals of the Grand Knight Arena without any suspense.

Nord, the Dragon Blood Knight, had become the biggest dark horse of the tournament.

He went from being unremarkable at the start, to later showing his talent, and now to forcefully fighting his way into the top four of the Knight arena.

Every time, he managed to erupt with astonishing power at the most critical moment to complete an unbelievable comeback.

He was like a piece of uncut jade being constantly polished, growing rapidly with each battle.

The Dragon Blood Power within him was also being constantly stimulated and integrated through one extreme challenge after another.

His progress was visible to the naked eye.

...

「Finals Day.」

The atmosphere in all of Black Stone Territory reached an unprecedented peak.

The three arena stages were surrounded by layer upon layer of people; even the nearby rooftops and trees were filled with spectators.

For the first time, Raylo and Avril also came down from the castle terrace and took their seats in the VIP section built especially for them, located directly in front of the arenas.

”BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!”

The stirring sound of war drums rang out once again.

First to begin were the finals of the Knight arena.

After the lots were drawn, Nord’s opponent was ”Rapid Shadow” Kage, who possessed a bizarre Body Technique and specialized in assassination.

The two walked onto the arena stage and faced each other from a distance.

In Kage’s hands were two daggers that resembled a viper’s fangs.

The bell signaling the start of the match rang.

Kage’s figure vanished from his spot in an instant.

He didn’t choose a frontal assault. Instead, he used his bizarre Body Technique to move around the stage at high speed, leaving behind a series of blurry afterimages that made it impossible to track his true body.

He was searching for an opportunity.

The opportunity for a single, fatal strike.

Nord stood in place, unmoving.

Below the stage, everyone held their breath, watching the scene nervously.

Just then, Kage’s figure appeared behind Nord without any warning.

The daggers in his hands were like two streaks of black lightning, silently stabbing toward Nord’s back and neck.

Fast! Precise! Vicious!

This was the fatal blow he had been planning for a long time.

However, just as his daggers were about to touch Nord’s body—

A flicker of golden light flashed in Nord’s eyes.

He didn’t turn around. Instead, his body suddenly twisted to the side at an unbelievable angle.

At the same time, his Long Sword, as if it had eyes of its own, swung up behind him in a backhanded slash.

”CLANG!”

The crisp sound of metal striking metal.

Nord’s Long Sword had precisely parried Kage’s fatal blow.

A trace of shock flashed in Kage’s eyes.

He could never have imagined that his sure-kill strike would be neutralized in such a way.

And in the moment he hesitated, Nord’s counterattack arrived.

Nord’s body, like a compressed spring, suddenly exploded with astonishing Power.

He spun and swung his sword, all in one smooth motion.

The Long Sword in his hand, carrying a scorching aura, split the air like a bolt of golden lightning.

The Dragon Blood Power, at this moment, erupted without reservation!

Kage’s face instantly turned deathly pale.

He wanted to dodge, but under the suppression of that scorching Dragon Mighty, his body froze for a split second.

That single moment of paralysis decided the outcome.

”SQUELCH!”

The Long Sword pierced through Kage’s shoulder.

Fresh blood stained the arena stage red.

The champion of the Knight arena was born.

Amidst the tsunami of cheers that erupted from the entire crowd, Nord slowly withdrew his Long Sword.

He had won.

But he knew it had not been an easy victory.

If he hadn’t unleashed his body’s Dragon Blood Power at the last moment, he would likely be the one lying defeated right now.
