Infinite Mana In The Apocalypse

Chapter 3675: Point of No Return III

With tears streaming from his eyes, Bob became transfused onto the black Wheel of Existence.

The Dead Absolute Complex True Source!

He sensed the terrifying complexity radiating from all around the bindings of the crimson prison. Apart from this True Source, he felt the stellar obsidian-black True Source that could revert existence, and now, a third True Source that displayed billions of golden runes.

”With every passing second, you grow stronger and stronger. A new True Source seems to bud from you as easily as breathing. My fate... is likely to face imprisonment and the gradual breakdown of my Existence with your increasing complexity. So let me take myself out of the equation.”

…!

Bob uttered these words as Noah moved even faster.

All of his True Sources held Average Complexity, with only his Purity surging at the Moderate level!

Against Bob, who had likely once surpassed the level of a Harmonized Sourcebound Icon Complexity before the collapse of his weavings…it wasnʼt enough to bring him down quickly.

Not against someone whose True Source of Khaos burned with a high level of complexity.

Not against someone who held a genuine Dead Absolute Complex True Source!

A black wheel, which he currently grasped by its rims, erupted with black brilliance that covered him entirely in its light. That same light pushed away Noahʼs billions of runes, seas of dark brilliance, and the crimson of Ruination!

”You have made me a desperate man, Noah Osmont.”

WAA!

Bobʼs voice held no emotion or friendliness.

”And with desperation... comes pain on both sides. I know pain. I understand pain. I hope you are ready for it too… Friend. I will be back with the means necessary to obtain what I need.”

…!

Friend.

When he had said it before, multiple times, it carried a trace of weavings that it might have been true.

That he had considered it a possibility.

But at this moment, the word was unfathomably cold and filled with apathy. From the Black Wheel of Existence, Bobʼs figure became entirely bathed in black brilliance as he... disappeared from the endless prison of Ruination!

Khaos vanished, leaving behind faint remnants.

The glimmer of the Black Wheel of Existence remained as it flashed. Noah looked upon it with heaviness as he bellowed out.

”ECHOES OF THE UNWRITTEN!”

HUUM!

His seas of the True Source of Existence pulsed and seethed as he sought to undo an event!

But…

BZZT!

The Black Wheel of Existence, still present, spun heavily as it released waves of Complexity that resisted the reversal of this event!

”Echoes! Of! The! Unwritten!”

…!

Noahʼs eyes shone with brilliance as he bellowed again, his True Source of Existence burning brightly, but the result was the same.

The first event he could not undo stood before him, with Bob having left behind a glimmer of the Black Wheel of Existence to prevent it.

And he called it a glimmer because with every passing second, the Dead Absolute Complex True Source of Existence became more and more illusory, as if it might fade at any moment.

”…”

Noah gazed at it with utter coldness. He despised the idea of an enemy escaping and prolonging conflict. He sought closure at every turn. But when it came to Bob- and the literal Absolute Complex True Source he wielded- what could be done?

He had come infinitely close to the core of the Wheel of Existence, closer than ever before. But even then, he couldnʼt reach it, not while Noah continued to display increasingly greater Complexity.

Unlike other maddened entities who would despair and go all out, Bob had done the rational thing- he left.

And he didnʼt just leave the True Frequency of the Singed.

He left the Wheel of Existence entirely.

Noah could confirm this with his current Complexity. When he tried to undo the event, he felt the push and pull leading toward the Infinite Ravines themselves!

”…”

He floated gloriously in the white-gold brilliance of the True Frequency of the Singed, his expression heavy.

True Sources swirled around him, but he felt no joy. This result could be considered both a success and a failure.

The threat of Bob was eliminated…

But only temporarily.

What would a man driven to desperation do to ensure that, when he returned, things would play out differently?

Especially one who understood Noahʼs rapid rate of progression, and knew the more time that passed, the stronger Noah would become, and the harder it would be to face him.

What would such an entity do to achieve his goals?

”…”

The possibilities were many.

And none of them were good!

Noah remained floating in the True Frequency of the Singed, his weavings continuing to press down on the illusory Black Wheel of Existence. Remnant tendrils of Khaos moved to devour anything they could, the Cradle of Purity buzzing softly at his chest.

But at this moment, only remnant weavings of Bob remained- everything else about him was gone!

This meant that now, only two Dead Things remained within the weavings of the Wheel. Noahʼs weavings, burning with frustration, turned fully upon them!

—

In the Frequency of Light.

The Gray-Wheeled Tentacled Dead Thing and the Heran Megalos Dead Thing were still facing the Pillars of Concordance of the Origin Singed, alongside countless tendrils of Ruination conducting Existential Unraveling.

But now, Noahʼs gaze carried a weight of livid determination as he called out coldly.

”Existential Engraving.”

WAA!

Billions of golden runes unfurled from him, rushing toward the Two Dead Things already surrounded by multiple True Sources.

And unlike Bob, these Two Dead Things lacked the backing of an Absolute Complex True Source of Existence. So when the golden runes descended, they couldnʼt push them away so easily!

One golden rune after another became bound to their bodies while the tendrils of Ruination ran rampant, dividing their attention further.

Slowly, thousands of golden runes became branded into their bodies- their Weavings of Existence- as they became engraved!

Existential Engraving.

At that moment, Noah was beginning to understand that Runes were not just a language, but living codes.

Living, breathing codes of existence itself... and of what it could become.
