Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 1032: Chapter 1034: Jiang Family Visits Again_1

Sui Ge was proficient in discerning words and expressions. He saw that Mrs. Ye’s rage had subsided and she even appeared somewhat excited; this made him even more admiring of Bai Ruozhu’s handling skills.

After Mrs. Ye left, Bai Ruozhu said to Sui Ge, ”Check which shop supplied this batch of goods and make sure we have no further dealings with them.”

”Yes, I will check right away,” Sui Ge said. Seeing Bai Ruozhu’s stern demeanor return, he couldn’t help but wipe the sweat from his forehead. It was time to deal with him now, wasn’t it? When Bai Ruozhu had handed the Weaving Pavilion over to him, it was understood that he would bear responsibility should issues arise.

”In the future, add an additional step to the process. All materials should be rinsed with water before use to prevent a recurrence of this event,” Bai Ruozhu added after some thought.

”Yes, everything will be carried out as you command,” Sui Ge’s head bent even lower.

Seeing him like this, Bai Ruozhu couldn’t help but laugh. ”What are you afraid of? I had no intention of punishing you severely. Someone with intent tried to harm the Shop, and even if you had luckily identified the silk’s issue initially, they would not have let it go. Of course, you should still have someone carefully check the rest of the warehouse’s stock to see if anything else has been tampered with.”

”Yes.” Sui Ge hurried to send people to the warehouse. With nothing else to do, Bai Ruozhu simply went along to the warehouse too.

After a thorough inspection, no other problems were found, indicating that the adversary was likely very cautious, believing that one roll of silk could harm Hua Xiangrong. Putting more into their plan might have risked exposure.

”Check the accounts to see how many customers purchased items made from that problematic silk. Recall all such items immediately and sincerely apologize and ask for forgiveness from the customers. Provide an identical replacement for the customers within two days,” Bai Ruozhu instructed again.

Sui Ge made careful note of it all. It seemed troublesome, but it allowed them to take the initiative. Truly, his master, capable of handling significant affairs, had a broader and more far-sighted perspective.

Afterward, Bai Ruozhu left the Shop, promptly arranging for Jianqi to investigate the matter further and find out who was pulling the strings from behind the scenes.

When she returned home, everyone was visibly worried. Bai Ruozhu simply mentioned in brief, ”It has been taken care of, and the customers reassured. There won’t be any trouble.”

Once Jiang Yichun came back and learned about the incident, his first question was, ”Was it Yang Tianhua who sent someone to do this?”

Bai Ruozhu shook her head, ”I don’t know, but it will certainly be cleared up. No matter who it is, I will hit back hard.”

He stroked her cheek and looked at her with a certain expression, saying, ”You still have me for everything. If there’s an issue, let Chenfeng send me a message.”

Bai Ruozhu smiled and nodded, ”Of course, you are my husband, and I should rely on you in times of trouble.”

The word ”rely” made Jiang Yichun feel warm inside and gave him a sense that he was her world, uplifting his spirits immensely.

The next morning, Bai Ruozhu asked Jianqi about the progress of the investigation. Jianqi reported that they had only found out the supplier was indeed malicious, having accepted money to add problematic silk, but that person didn’t know who had ultimately put him up to it.

Bai Ruozhu was not in a rush and told Jianqi, ”No matter, continue investigating.”

Just then, a maid came to announce, ”Miss, the second young miss and young master from the Jiang Family are here to see you. The madam asked what you would like to do.”

Bai Ruozhu rubbed her temples. She wanted to consult Achun’s opinion, but how could she when Achun had gone to the morning court? After all, she couldn’t leave the visitors waiting outside the door, could she?

Remembering Achun’s friendly attitude toward those two cousins compared to the elders, she felt it wouldn’t be right not to meet them. Besides, their presence at this time most likely meant they were there to see her, probably looking for a breakthrough from her end.

”Lead them to the Main Hall, serve them tea, and I will join them shortly,” Bai Ruozhu said.

The maid quickly went to reply to Lin Ping’er, who then had the Jiang siblings brought in and served them tea in the Main Hall while they waited.

Jiang Family’s eldest daughter, Jiang Zhiyi, was eighteen years old this year, a bit older than Bai Ruozhu. Second Young Master, Jiang Yihong, was actually originally referred to as the Young Master in the family because Elder Jiang Ge did not acknowledge Jiang Yichun as his eldest grandson and commanded everyone in the household to address Jiang Yihong as Young Master. But Jiang Yihong still remembered his cousin and, even more so, the kite they had played with during their childhood.

He also didn’t believe that his second uncle was that kind of person; as a child, he had always envied how his elder brother had such a wonderful father who frequently played with him and took him on outings, while his own father barely had the chance to speak with him due to being so busy.

How could a person who was so good to children do such a thing?

Jiang Zhiyi took a sip of tea served by the maid and her eyes immediately lit up. What kind of tea was this, sour and sweet and extraordinarily delicious?

Unable to restrain her curiosity, she asked the maid beside her, ”What kind of tea is this? It tastes quite good.”

Seeing her gentle demeanor, the maid generously replied, ”This is Honey Pomelo Tea, brewed by our Young Mistress herself. It can soothe the throat and moisten the lungs, most suitable for ladies to drink.”

”Your Young Mistress must be my cousin’s wife, Bai Ruozhu, right?” asked Jiang Zhiyi with some excitement.

The maid nodded, ”Exactly.”

”I didn’t expect my sister-in-law to be such a delightful person,” said Jiang Zhiyi with a smile, then picked up her cup again and took another careful sip.

Jiang Yihong was fifteen years old this year, still somewhat childish. He didn’t have Honey Pomelo Tea in his cup, but rather a top-grade Da Hong Pao, yet he was more intrigued by the tea praised by his second sister.

He looked eagerly at the maid and asked, ”Can men not drink this Honey Pomelo Tea?”

Before the maid could answer, Jiang Zhiyi burst into laughter and said, ”What kind of man are you, just a little kid?”

Jiang Yihong, not willing to accept this, retorted, ”I am already fifteen years old!”

Bai Ruozhu happened to catch this little episode as she entered the room and her impression of the Jiang siblings improved a bit as a result. Jiang Zhiyi was well-mannered and gentle, Jiang Yihong open and endearing – no wonder Jiang Yichun could not bear to ignore them.

As she entered, she greeted them with a bow and instructed the maid, ”Go give Second Young Master Jiang some Pomelo Tea and bring some dimsum as well, such as Snowy Mei Niang, Horse Hoof Pastry, and Fresh Shrimp Crystal Dumplings.”

The maid immediately set off to arrange it while Jiang Yihong blushed slightly, feeling a little embarrassed.

Jiang Zhiyi signaled Jiang Yihong with her eyes and both stood up to bow to Bai Ruozhu.

”Zhiyi and Yihong have seen sister-in-law,” they said in unison.

This address of ”sister-in-law” actually made Bai Ruozhu feel a bit stuck, as not responding would be impolite, but a response felt like it would further entangle her with the Jiang Family.

”You are being too courteous, please, sit down and let’s talk,” Bai Ruozhu replied crisply with the courtesy of a host, skillfully sidestepping the reference to ”sister-in-law.”

Jiang Zhiyi signaled Jiang Yihong with her eyes, indicating for him to start a conversation. Just then, the maid brought the tea and dimsum, and both their attentions were immediately captured by these, causing them to forget their original intent...
