Chapter 936: Chapter 938 Why Is There Blood? This Is Too Unfortunate_1

Because of Niu Cuicui’s sudden arrival, a layer of worry enveloped the Bai Family, compounded by the current situation in Beiyu City, the atmosphere in the house was quite oppressive that day.

When Jiang Yichun came home in the evening, he immediately sensed something was amiss and quietly asked Bai Ruozhu, who also quietly told him about Niu Cuicui’s visit.

”Don’t let the others in the family know, and tell those servants to keep their mouths shut,” Jiang Yichun reminded in a low voice.

”Yes, I’ve told Uncle Zhang, and he’s already warned them,” Bai Ruozhu said listlessly.

Jiang Yichun couldn’t help but rub her head and said, ”It’s fine, it will all pass. Since Xiaosi isn’t home, it’s better to wait until this blows over before acknowledging kinship.”

Bai Ruozhu pouted, ”I am selfish after all, I don’t want Xiaosi to acknowledge them.”

Thinking back to the time he saw Bai Ruozhu treating Xiaosi’s injuries in Mountain Village and how she went to lengths such as ”hiring someone to commit assault” for Xiaosi, Jiang Yichun felt somewhat emotional. Xiaosi was a clever and brave child; he too would find it hard to let go.

”If it comes to it, just tell her Xiaosi went to Mount Hua to learn martial arts, then we’ll see if she really goes looking for him, or just wants to stay here and not leave,” Jiang Yichun suggested after some thought.

Bai Ruozhu thought it was a good idea, but she had no intention of mentioning Mount Hua. If Niu Cuicui did go there, making a ruckus, Xiaosi’s identity would be impossible to conceal. What a blow that would be for the child.

The couple chatted with the family in the main house for a while before taking Dengdeng back to their room. On the way, Tu Bai came out of his room and stopped Jiang Yichun, asking, ”Lord Jiang, has my father found my mother? If it’s convenient for you, could you inquire with my father tomorrow?”

Jiang Yichun nodded at the request, ”Sure, I will send someone to ask Lord Tu tomorrow.”

Only after expressing thanks did Tu Bai return to the guest room assigned to him. Bai Ruozhu watched his retreating figure, her heart feeling uncomfortably blocked.

Back in their room, Bai Ruozhu asked in a soft voice, ”Is there any news about Lady Tu?”

Jiang Yichun shook his head, ”Not yet.”

”No news might be good news. Maybe she’ll be found tomorrow,” Bai Ruozhu said with a sigh.

Jiang Yichun put their son to bed and said, ”Don’t overthink it, let’s hurry up and get our son to sleep.”

Bai Ruozhu’s face instantly heated up, and she couldn’t help but give him a reproachful glance. Despite the tension of their situation, he was still so eager.

But they had been apart for a good while now, and not just he, she too was feeling the longing.

Thus, Bai Ruozhu lay down on the bed with a blush on her face and coaxed Dengdeng to sleep.

As soon as their little one stopped clinging to his father and fell asleep, Jiang Yichun’s eyes shone eagerly. He scooped Bai Ruozhu up and carried her to the soft lounge next to them, gently laying her down before his searing kisses descended, blooming like red plums on her fair skin, unspeakably beautiful.

Both were excited, their breathing grew hurried, and one piece of clothing after another fell to the floor, heating up the room even more.

”Ruozhu, I’ve missed you so much, have you missed me?” he murmured into her ear, his breathy voice almost magical, causing her to melt even further.

”Yes, I’ve missed you,” she said with flushed cheeks and a bit of breathlessness.

He chuckled softly in her ear, a light sound filled with immense joy, a clear indication of his elation.

With her words, he could no longer hold back and was about to move to the next step when suddenly, as he lifted his hand, shock spread across his face, ”Why is there blood? Are you injured?”

He became annoyed with himself. He had been too busy these past few days; he hadn’t properly examined her body and hadn’t even realized she was injured. He had even carelessly allowed her wound to burst open again. He was such an incompetent husband!

Bai Ruozhu, seeing the blood on his hands, suddenly became aware of her own condition and couldn’t help but twitch the corners of her mouth.

Oh my, she really wanted to find a hole to crawl into. Could this be any more unlucky?

”Let me see where it hurts,” Jiang Yichun said as he moved to check her body.

Bai Ruozhu’s face had turned red to her neck as she pushed Jiang Yichun’s face away and said with her head down, ”Don’t look, I just suddenly, suddenly got my period.”

”Ah?” Jiang Yichun also froze. He remembered Bai Ruozhu’s schedule; wasn’t it supposed to be a few more days? Now that the arrow was on the string and he had to release it, was this meant to torture him?

”Maybe I’ve been too tired these past few days, I didn’t expect it to come early,” Bai Ruozhu said cautiously, her face flushed. She knew this was too embarrassing and too coincidental; Achun must be so frustrated.

After speaking, she got up to find some paper to clean herself, her face still red, she found her menstrual belt, used the comfortable pads she had prepared, and then put on her ancient underwear.

Jiang Yichun was somewhat downcast, sitting there gloomily and not saying a word. Bai Ruozhu glanced at him, feeling somewhat wronged inside. It wasn’t as if she could choose this. She had been moved herself just a moment ago, and now she was also feeling uncomfortable; if he wasn’t happy, she certainly wasn’t happy either.

He noticed her dissatisfaction and quickly retracted the chill he’d been emitting unintentionally. He went over, picked her up, and seated her on his thigh, whispering, ”I’m not angry with you, don’t get angry over nothing, lest you get a stomachache.”

Listening to his words of concern, Bai Ruozhu softened once again. Yet sitting on his bare thighs made her feel awkward, and she squirmed a bit, muttering, ”Don’t you start anything.”

Leaning close to her ear, he chuckled softly, ”I won’t start anything, but you’ll have to help me.”

After speaking, his large hand seized her small one (what happened next was left unsaid)...

They spent a night filled with unfulfilled desires. The next day, as soon as it was light, Jiang Yichun left home again, and Bai Ruozhu worried about the whereabouts of Mrs. Tu, still unaccounted for.

Jiang Yichun didn’t return for two days. On the third day, he came back, looking exhausted, with a stubbly beard that had grown long, and hollowed cheeks, making Bai Ruozhu suspect he hadn’t rested at all in the past two days.

”The crisis has been completely resolved, and the people have started to flood the streets again,” Jiang Yichun told the household.

”What about the King of Duan?” Bai Ruozhu asked anxiously.

Jiang Yichun replied regretfully, ”After all, the King of Duan has quite a few experts around him. We chased him for two days, but he managed to escape. It seems he is heading for the Turkic Country.”

Tu Ying and Tu Bai were more concerned about their parents’ well-being. Jiang Yichun calmly said, ”The Tu Family will send someone to pick you up soon.”

Tu Ying and Tu Bai did not ask further. Bai Ruozhu felt guilty and wanted to speak of Mrs. Tu’s situation, but Jiang Yichun gave her a look, signaling her not to talk.

She hesitated, quickly surmising that it must have been something Tu Lie requested, and decided to keep quiet.

Sure enough, before long, Tu Lie came in person to pick them up. He entered the main house to properly thank the Bai Family and even bowed deeply to Bai Ruozhu, proclaiming her the savior of the Tu Family.
