Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 323: Chapter 323: Too Weak

Jiang Yichun noticed her bashful expression and rejoiced in his heart. Indeed, women need to be coaxed and complimented. Otherwise, as his master had said, who would be fond of his reserved self?

Bai Ruozhu’s head bowed slightly, attempting to hide her flushed cheeks. Subsequently, she spoke in a low voice, ”I heard that my grandpa intends to rescue Bai Yibo by leveraging his connections. Such a thing is a grave crime. I’ve not told my family and wanted your help to investigate how far the plan has progressed.”

Jiang Yichun frowned slightly, ”Your grandpa gives you more to worry about than you do.”

The warmth building up in Bai Ruozhu’s heart dispelled immediately as she glared at him and retorted, ”What do you mean by that? How am I troublesome? Can’t you avoid your snide remarks for once?”

Upon hearing this, Jiang Yichun coughed awkwardly and stood up from his chair, ”I misspoke! I meant to say I worry about you all the time...no, it’s more like concern...” Observing Bai Ruozhu’s dark expression, he decided it would be wiser to stay quiet as it seemed he was only digging himself deeper into this hole.

Nevertheless, Bai Ruozhu still glared at him fiercely, making him feel rather frazzled.

He was not accustomed to apologizing.

As for uttering sweet words, given his tendency to offend with his sharp tongue, he might again say something wrong.

In a moment of desperation, he leaned forward, clasped his hand behind Bai Ruozhu’s head, and pressed his mouth onto hers.

Bai Ruozhu was still glaring, but the handsome face before her suddenly enlarged to the point where he was unrecognizable. Then, his pair of cold lips just bit hers.

Yes, it was undoubtedly a bite! It was only when she came to her senses that she realized she had been kissed forcefully by this scoundrel Jiang Yichun. However, could that be classified as a kiss? It was more like a puppy biting a person.

Bai Ruozhu was initially angry about being ambushed, but now she could hardly summon her anger, bursting into laughter instead. Who kisses like that? This guy must be kissing for the first time. He’s clearly such a novice!

Although modern people may not have experienced everything, they have at least seen many things. However, Jiang Yichun, who belonged to ancient times, did not possess such luck. He genuinely didn’t know how to kiss, nor did he have the opportunity to see others doing it.

Bai Ruozhu was laughing so hard that her body shook. The thought of this aloof and handsome man being a novice at kissing made her want to laugh even more, nearly bringing her to tears.

She contemplated whether he would have accidentally bitten her mouth, had her laughter not distracted him from his continuous attempts!

Jiang Yichun had tried multiple times, but now he had finally gotten Bai Ruozhu to give in. The interrupted kiss had finally reached its conclusion. However, contrary to his fantasy of a romantic setting, the woman before him started laughing uncontrollably. He firmly believed that she would have burst out laughing if it hadn’t been late at night and she wouldn’t have worried about her family overhearing.

Bai Ruozhu felt aggrieved. She genuinely wanted to suppress her laughter as it was making her stomach hurt.

”What’s so funny? Do you find me amusing?” Jiang Yichun was nearly bursting with anger. He hadn’t even had his fill of the kiss when Bai Ruozhu’s laughter interrupted him, severely bruising his male ego.

As Bai Ruozhu looked at his livid face, she burst into laughter again. She wanted to say, ”Who kisses like you do?” But she ended up saying, ”Your biting tickles me so much, I can’t help but laugh. I didn’t mean to do it on purpose.”

She started laughing again after finishing her words because suppressing her laughter was too exhausting, bringing tears to her eyes.

Jiang Yichun’s face reddened. Was it really that ticklish? He was sure he had shaved his beard thoroughly. How could it be itchy? Could it be that he bit too hard? He stole a glance at Bai Ruozhu and began to understand the situation.

Could it be that his technique was wrong? Jiang Yichun’s face reddened more, receiving a blow to his confidence like never before. He turned his back to her, masking his expression as he coldly informed her, ”I am aware of the matter you mentioned. I have other tasks to attend to, so I will take my leave.”

Without waiting for Bai Ruozhu’s response, he stormed off.

Seeing him in this state, Bai Ruozhu couldn’t help but laugh even harder. She jumped onto her bed, burying her face into the quilt as she convulsed in laughter. Was the guy running away out of shyness? Could he be any more amusing?

Her laughter made her whole body shake, causing the bed to tremble as well. This woke up Little Dengdeng, causing him to grumble in dissatisfaction. Only then did Bai Ruozhu calm down and started to breastfeed Dengdeng. However, she still couldn’t stop herself from laughing a couple of times midway.

But as she continued to laugh, her face gradually turned red. The sensation of his cold lips made her think back to the time when she had to administer medicine to him. This guy, in his unconscious state, seemed to perform better. He was simply too clumsy.

She touched her reddened cheeks. She should be glad that he was inexperienced, right? Would she prefer a man with a string of former lovers?

Thinking of Jiang Yichun still being a virgin, she felt a tinge of excitement in her heart, salivating at the thought.

After escaping from the West Courtyard like it was a decisive battlefield, Jiang Yichun had no intention of going home to sleep. After much inner turmoil, he decided that he should probe deeper to find out if his kissing technique was indeed as ridiculous as it seemed.

This revelation filled him with rage. Eventually, he found a residence where he could hear some activity, leaped up to the rooftop, lifted one of the tiles, and started intensely observing the scene below.

Well, this was his idea of gaining deeper insights. If his master or his colleagues from the Department of Political Affairs were to find out that he, Jiang Yichun, had employed lightness skills to spy on people from their rooftops for the sake of learning how to kiss, they would surely collapse in laughter.

...

Starting the next morning, Bai Ruozhu woke up in very high spirits and proceeded with her morning grooming. Lin Ping’er eyed her curiously and asked, ”Ruozhu, did you laugh in your room last night?”

”What?” Bai Ruozhu’s heart skipped a beat. She had lowered her guard too much!

”I got up to pee in the middle of the night and heard a woman’s laughter. It was quite eerie. Wasn’t it you?” Lin Ping’er’s face turned paler as she spoke.

Bai Ruozhu rushed her reddening cheeks as she explained, ”Now that you mention it, I realize why my cheeks hurt after waking up. It seems like I was laughing in my dream. Alas, I don’t even remember what delightful dream I had that made me laugh so much.”

Lin Ping’er gave her chest a pat in relief and replied, ”So it was indeed coming from your room, and it was indeed you. You must be overjoyed about your second brother being rescued.”

”Maybe that’s it. I also dreamt about my elder brother getting married, and we were teasing him in his bridal chamber,” Bai Ruozhu had no choice but to bluff her way out. Otherwise, rumors about the West Courtyard being haunted would start spreading, and she would end up being mistaken as the ”female ghost” causing trouble.

Having resolved this ”misunderstanding” early, Lin Ping’er happily started preparing breakfast. Bai Ruozhu, after freshening up, returned to her room to breastfeed Dengdeng, her mind mulling over Jiang Yichun’s situation once again.

After opening the stall, she and Fusa had made one hat each. They decided to deliver half of the order that day itself, that is, one hat each to Mrs. Ding and Mrs. Li.

Before setting off, Bai Ruozhu took out two beautifully crafted gift boxes and placed the hats inside separately.

She winked at Fusa and said, ”Packaging is crucial too. It significantly enhances the product’s aesthetic appeal.”
