Royal Secret: I'm A Princess!

NEOMA finally had lunch with her (immediate) family: Nero, Mama Boss, and Papa Boss.

Since they were talking about something important, all their knights were sent outside.

To make sure no one was eavesdropping, she even placed a soundproof barrier around the dining hall.

”So, the two of you decided to act like children of divorced parents and decided which parent to take with you,” Mama Boss said, laughing softly as if she found Neoma and Nero’s plan cute. ”Why did you choose me, Nero?”

”Because Mother is the Nature’s daughter,” Nero explained. ”We’re expecting the Ancient Devil to release the Black Ocean as rain. If that happens, it’s going to be a disaster. And I believe only Nature can help us stop that from erasing our empire from the map.”

”That’s assuming that Nature will help us,” Mama Boss said worriedly. ”What if Nature refuses to help? What if Nature cannot help us at all?”

”I’d still choose you, Mother. You can command Spirits like William, after all. Moreover, many races like you. We can use that to our advantage.”

Their mother smiled as if she were satisfied with Nero’s answer.

”I agree with everything you said about your mother and her strengths, son,” their Papa Boss said. ”But why does it sound like you’re saying that you can’t trust me?”

Pfft.

It was obvious that Papa Boss was just teasing Nero.

”To be fair, you and your Soul Beasts are worth thousands of elite knights and Swordmasters, Father,” Nero said while nodding approvingly, obviously shocking their father. ”But I figured Father would suit fighting an individual rather than joining us in stopping a disaster. Moreover, Neoma listens to Father well. Not that I’m saying Neoma doesn’t listen to Mother.”

Neoma wanted to nod, but she suddenly felt embarrassed when her gaze met Papa Boss’ gaze. ”Aigoo. Even if it’s Papa Boss, I remain unstoppable.”

Papa Boss scoffed at her words. ”Oh, yeah? Let’s see, then.”

Aigoo.

Neoma didn’t want to admit this, but Nero was right.

Papa Boss and me are a good match.

However...

”This is just our opinion,” Neoma said, looking back and forth between her parents. ”What do you think, Mama Boss? Papa Boss?”

Mama Boss and Papa Boss exchanged glances as if they were speaking to each other via telepathy.

And then their parents exchanged subtle nods after a few moments.

”To be honest, Nikolai and I were really torn because we both wanted to stay here with Nero, and go to the Upper World with Neoma.”

Ah, Nero was right again.

”We also thought of this method, but we were thinking about how we’d bring it up without making it seem like we prioritize one over the other,” Mama Boss said carefully. ”So, this works well. Thank you, babies.”

”Mona will stay here with Nero, and Neoma will bring me with her to the Upper World,” Papa Boss said, smiling as if he were satisfied. ”Now I can make sure that Commander Solfrid couldn’t do anything funny while I’m there.”

Aigoo.

So, Papa Boss has an evil agenda, huh?

Neoma was about to scold her father, but her father suddenly brought up a new topic.

”I’ll leave my Soul Beasts behind to protect your Sapling, Neoma,” Papa Boss said carefully. ”I’ll still fight with all that I can, even without them.”

Ah, yes.

Even though Neoma’s Sapling was in the Spirit World, they couldn’t trust Tara to protect it.

Hence, her father left his Soul Beasts to protect her Sapling.

Of course, Papa Boss could fight well even without his Soul Beasts. But Papa Boss would be more powerful with them.

”I’m thinking of moving my Sapling here,” Neoma said, revealing her plans to her family. ”It’s not that I don’t trust your Soul Beasts, Papa Boss. I just know that Queen Tara would do something once I become officially bound to the Upper World.”

”But didn’t we need to bring your Sapling to the Upper World because the environment there is what the Sapling needs to grow?” Mama Boss asked worriedly. ”Won’t it be dangerous if we suddenly remove it from the environment that it’s already used to?”

”The Sapling is strong enough now to survive the change of environment,” Neoma explained. That was what she noticed when she visited her Sapling last time. ”We created a mini Garden of Life for my Sapling, so I’m thinking of moving the entire garden, too. It won’t be easy, but Trevor will help me with the moving.”

After all, Trevor was also a master of portals.

It seems like there’s no dimension in this world that Trevor doesn’t have access to.

”Of course, I’ll discuss this with Ruto first,” Neoma said, and then she moved on to her next agenda. That was why she smiled brightly at Nero and their parents. ”Speaking of which, I need your permission to return to the Upper World to negotiate with Helstor.”

”G-GREETINGS, Princess Neoma.”

”Thank you for inviting us to your afternoon tea party, Princess Neoma.”

”Yeah. You don’t have to greet me so formally,” Neoma said while waving her hand dismissively at Dahlia and Charlotte. She invited the two for an afternoon tea in the garden of her residence. ”And you’re welcome. Have you been well?”

”O-Of course, Princess Neoma,” Dahlia answered shyly. ”The palace provides everything I need to live comfortably. And hanging out with Miss Charlotte these days is fun.”

”I’m glad to hear that, Dahlia,” Neoma said, and then she turned to Charlotte. ”And you, Charlotte? It must have been scary seeing the Ancient Devil again.”

”It was scary, but I feel safe and protected here, Princess Neoma,” Charlotte said. ”Moreover, Miss Dahlia has been diligently taking care of me. Thanks to that, I’m recovering fast.” The unicorn then turned to Dahlia. ”I’m always thankful to you, Miss Dahlia.”

Dahlia’s face turned red while shaking her head. ”N-No, it’s fine, Miss Charlotte. I’m just glad to help. I’m also thankful to Miss Charlotte for getting along well with me...”

Ah, how peaceful.

Neoma stared at Dahlia while the Black Witch was exchanging compliments with Charlotte.

Yeah, I can’t bring this one with me to the Upper World.

”W-What is it, Princess Neoma?” Dahlia asked nervously. ”D-Did I do or say something w-wrong?”

”I considered bringing you to the Upper World with me, but I think you’re better off staying here,” Neoma said, sipping her tea before she continued. ”Dahlia, can I ask you to help Nero stop the disaster that’s about to come? We believe that the Ancient Devil is going to release the Black Ocean as heavy rain soon.”

Dahlia and Charlotte both gasped, shocked.

”I believe that your Elemental Guardian can help if ever we get the Great Flood here, Dahlia,” Neoma said, pausing for a moment. ”To be fair, I don’t know how you’ll be able to do it. So, I’ll give it to you as your homework. Of course, you’re free to turn it down. You don’t have to help if you think it’s too much, Dahlia.”

She thought the Black Witch would hesitate.

After all, Dahlia wasn’t confident about herself.

However...

”I’ll do it, Princess Neoma,” Dahlia said, her voice no longer shaking. Moreover, Neoma could see the determination in the Black Witch’s eyes. ”I’ll do my best to help His Imperial Majesty stop the Great Flood.”

”Thank you, Dahlia,” Neoma said, smiling. ”I’m relying on you, then.”

Dahlia’s face beamed, and then she nodded shyly.

How cute.

It was about time for Neoma to leave.

Yeah, I’m headed back to the Upper World— with my family’s permission this time.

Veton would come and pick her up at any moment now.

But, before that...

”Charlotte?”

”Yes, Princess Neoma?”

Neoma tilted her head to one side before she asked Charlotte the question that had been bothering her all this time. ”Is your mother’s name Yurian?”

AH, Princess Neoma is back.

Helstor smiled while watching Princess Neoma get off Veton’s back while being assisted by both Trevor Kesser and Yoan (ah, it was Ruto Solfrid now), even though the little princess didn’t need it.

Anyway, he wasn’t the only one who came out to greet Princess Neoma at the gate.

Other gods were also there, like Arien and Astrid.

”Welcome back, Princess Neoma,” Helstor greeted the little princess, who was walking regally with Ruto Solfrid and Trevor Kesser on either side of her. ”I can’t wait to negotiate...”

Ah.

He stopped talking when he realized that Princess Neoma was quiet.

Everyone knew that the little princess had the loudest and filthiest mouth out there.

The little princess was also known for her sneer.

However, Princess Neoma carried herself like the Imperial Princess that she was— majestic, dignified.

Just the way the little princess looked at Helstor dismissively made him feel small.

There was also this invisible force urging him to bow to Princess Neoma.

He belatedly realized that it was the little princess’ silent but deadly bloodlust.

And he wasn’t the only one paralyzed by that.

The other gods were also holding their breath, as if they were just waiting for Princess Neoma to kill them one by one.

Helstor unconsciously clenched his shaking hands.

What brought this change in Princess Neoma?

”Helstor, do it,” Princess Neoma said in a cold voice. ”If you want to bring children to fight your battles, then do it. But just know that it won’t be my representatives who’ll kill them— I will.”

At first, Helstor thought Princess Neoma was just bluffing.

However, the air around the little princess didn’t change.

Ah, so that was why Princess Neoma looked different right now.

This little princess has decided to kill children in order to win the war.
