1792  City Lord Vaughn

Sir Xavier could barely believe his eyes, Grey was perfectly fine after being surrounded, whereas the Black Protector who wasnʼt close to Grey became the one killed. While Sir Xavier was in a state of shock, the Blue Protector was in a daze, mindlessly staring at the ash on the floor. It was almost as if he had lost his soul. The Blue and Black Protector have been together for hundreds of years, growing famous as a pair of brothers. Their combined strength is far above that of other pairs, which set them apart from their peers. Never in the Blue Protectorʼs wildest dreams would he have ever imagined that his comrade, whom he had shared countless life and death battles with, is gone from this world. How could he even bear the title of a ʼProtectorʼ without the Black Protector? Sir Xavier was stunned speechless, the Blue Protector was in a daze due to the death of his comrade, while Lord Harry was thinking of ways to settle the matter with Grey. If he took the option of silencing Grey, then he had to be a hundred percent certain that he could keep Grey here. His previous test has proved to him that it was impossible for him to keep Grey here. What made him even more worried is the fact that Grey seemed to be aware of the presence of the City Lord. Not leaving after sensing the presence of the City Lord meant that either Grey was confident he could escape, or he was just too arrogant. And from their short conversation, Lord Harry could at least tell that Grey wasnʼt the arrogant type. ʼCan City Lord restrain that mysterious skill?ʼ Lord Harry was stuck in a dilemma. Situations like these are better off dealt with properly, and killing Grey was the best choice since things had gotten to this level, but the mysterious skill Grey used to change positions at the last second is something that he had never seen or even heard of before. He wasnʼt sure the City Lord could restrain him. If he couldnʼt, then doesnʼt that mean that Grey could come and go as he pleased? With all these thoughts in mind, Lord Harry quickly came to a decision, with a smile plastered on his face, he shamelessly explained, ”Little Friend, you see, the issue of unconsciously unleashing an attack when agitated is something common among the top ranking members of the City Lord Manor. I hope Little Friend wonʼt take offense to my mistake just now, and if anything, Little Friend was able to successfully deal with it.” With the smile still on his face, he added, ”Why donʼt we start over, besides, thereʼs no life or death enmity between us.”

Lord Harry didnʼt even make mention of the Black Protectorʼs death, it was as if he didnʼt exist to begin with. Grey looked at Lord Harry, a little surprised he quickly submitted. He couldnʼt help but be surprised at the cautious nature of the top experts from the City Lordʼs Manor. Sir Xavier acted arrogantly and with superiority when he first appeared, but after noticing that Grey was stronger, he quickly adjusted the way he spoke to Grey. The same has happened with Lord Harry. His eyes darted as he tried to see if Lord Harry was trying to play a trick on him or if he was being sincere. If Lord Harry was being sincere, then it meant that he wasnʼt confident in keeping Grey here. This was the conclusion Grey could come up with after giving it some thought. And he wasnʼt far off! Lord Harry is indeed afraid, but not of him, but the unknown. The unknown skill Grey used, and also the unknown power behind Grey. Thereʼs no way someone like Grey could spawn from an ordinary force, this is something Lord Harry was certain of. Considering Lord Harry wanted to make peace, Grey felt a bit relieved. Although he would still suggest to the McCall Family to move from this place, he was at least satisfied that he would at least not need to fight. If his guess is correct, then the City Lordʼs strength isnʼt ordinary. If he wanted to defeat him, then heʼd have to expend a lot of effort. He just entered the secret world, so he wasnʼt interested in engaging in a life and death battle especially when he hadnʼt even seen any benefit yet. ”Since Senior has such intentions, then I have no problems with starting over.” Grey nodded to Lord Harryʼs request to start over. This was the best case scenario for either party. Lord Harry heaved a sigh of relief when he saw Grey nod in acceptance, he thought Grey might be a hotheaded youth who would not take a step back. To his surprise, Grey was pretty calm, which gave him a sense of relief. ”Haha, since thatʼs the case, this old master will take the initiative to introduce himself.” Lord Harry went on to introduce himself to Grey. Lord Harry is the Vice City Lord of Raging Flames City, Harry Vrai. He is a Dual Elementalist, having both the fire and lightning elements. He was also a Sixth stage Sovereign who from Greyʼs senses was on the verge of the Seventh stage. Grey, himself, could also be said to be close to breaking through to the Seventh stage of the Sovereign Plane. Seeing Lord Harryʼs sincerity, Grey introduced himself, not withholding his Family name since there was no difference if he told them or not. Lord Harry tried to ask of the Territory he was from, but he didnʼt spill that information, refusing to reply to this. He didnʼt stay at the City Lord Manor for long, leaving after a short time. He wasnʼt well acquainted with Lord Harry, and given the fact that the Black Protector had just been reduced to ash thanks to Greyʼs tricks, he didnʼt feel comfortable staying there. His destination after leaving the City Lordʼs Manor is naturally the McCall Family Manor. In the depths of the City Lordʼs Manor. Inside a well hidden underground stone room, a figure could be seen seated in a cross-legged position. The room was filled with an old air. The sound of footsteps soon rang out, before the door leading to the stone room was opened. Lord Harryʼs figure walked past the door, appearing before the old man seated in a cross-legged position. ”Vaughn, youʼre sure that you canʼt deal with him?” Lord Harry asked the old man. The old man, whose eyes were closed shut, suddenly snapped open and a profound light flashed through them. The old man referred to as Vaughn had a golden robe on, his white hair draped all the way to his shoulder. ”Iʼm sure. Thereʼs something strange about the boyʼs technique.” Vaughn replied after a while. The reason Lord Harry quickly came to the decision of making peace with Grey isnʼt just from his own will, but also the choice of City Lord Vaughn. While he was dealing with Grey, he heard the City Lordʼs order to make peace with Grey at all costs. Even before coming here, he had to deal with the Blue Protector who suddenly went mad after Grey left and wanted to hunt him down. The Blue Protector had been imprisoned in the City Lordʼs Manor, and his cultivation was sealed for the time being. ”Is his movement skill that unique?” Lord Harry was unsure why the City Lord was sure he couldnʼt handle him, he hurriedly added, ”Thereʼs also the array. With the help of the array here, then we shouldʼve been able to keep him here.”

”Are you certain that we wouldʼve been successful?” City Lord Vaughn asked, staring calmly at the face of Lord Harry, he added unhurriedly, ”You also saw the way he was able to instantly switch places with Little Black. I donʼt have any knowledge about what special means he was able to deploy. If thatʼs the case, then why offend him?”

Lord Harry thought about it and nodded, he was the one who attacked Grey, so he had firsthand experience on this. He didnʼt see how Grey changed places with the Black Protector.

If they failed to keep Grey here, then the entire City Lord Manor was doomed. Even the Raging Flames Faction might not be able to save them. This was a thought they felt was true.

”Also, I think heʼs from that place.” City Lord Vaughn gave a knowing smile to Lord Harry. Hearing the City Lordʼs words, Lord Harry sucked in a deep breath at the thought of what the City Lordʼs words meant. If Grey truly was from that place, then they shouldnʼt dare to offend him. Offending someone from that place in this world is the same as a death sentence. So no one wanted to challenge them, after all, they were regarded as the number one force in this world. Who would want to offend the number one force?
