Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Ye Jian didn’t say much. She just said, ”I’ve been waiting for you.” Xia Jinyuan didn’t cry even when he was stabbed in the chest a few months ago. Now, his heart hurt, and there were tears in his eyes.

These five words were filled with resignation and worry. Every word weighed a ton, and every word was filled with sorrow. The woman he loved deeply had been waiting for him to come back.

Fortunately, he didn’t disappoint her. He was finally back.

She rubbed her cheek against his chest lightly as if she was still confirming whether he was real or not.

This was great. This was really great.

Her lover was back.

Xia Jinyuan kissed the top of Ye Jian’s head gently and deeply. The pain in his heart melted into this kiss, and he didn’t leave for a long time.

Ye Jian knew that he was kissing the top of her head. The smile on her face got deeper, gentler, and more content.

”I’m sorry to have kept you waiting.” Xia Jinyuan hugged his lover, who had obviously lost a lot of weight. The pain in his heart didn’t dissipate at all. It became even more painful. There were tears in her hair, and his deep voice trembled like the strings of a violin. ”I’m sorry to have made you worry.”

Ye Jian, who was buried in his arms, shook her head and replied, ”I didn’t wait long. I was just a little worried about you. Now that you’re back, I’m very happy.

”There’s no smell of blood on you. There’s also a faint smell of soap. You’re not injured and even took a shower before coming to look for me. Captain Xia, you didn’t go back on your word, so you don’t have to feel sorry.”

Waiting for him wasn’t scary because she knew her lover would return.

What kind of waiting was scary, then?

It was waiting for a lover who would never come back. That kind of waiting was the real horror, the real despair.

Now that Xia Jinyuan was back, there was nothing he should be sorry about. Ye Jian knew where he went and why he left the country. That was his responsibility and hers.

Xia Jinyuan, whose eyes were still filled with tears, smiled. The woman he loved deeply had always been understanding and always gave him her support. It was perfect to have her in his life.

”If you’re waiting for me to come back, I’ll definitely come back. When I have to wait for you to come back one day, you’ll definitely come back too. This is our agreement. We’ll grow old together.”

Ye Jian nodded vigorously. ”That’s why we have to remember our agreement and come back alive for each other.”

It wasn’t an extravagant hope. They were just hoping they could come back alive from every mission. That way, even if they missed each other dearly, there was still hope.

Xia Jinyuan raised his head and forced back the tears in his eyes. He turned his head and looked at the ward with the lights off. Then, he lowered his head and kissed the top of Ye Jian’s head again. He asked softly, ”Do you want to sleep? Do you want to take a walk outside?”

At the nurses’ station, several people were sizing Ye Jian up. Despite having her back facing them, she could feel the probing gazes.

Although Ye Jian wasn’t wearing a military uniform and was only wearing a set of sportswear, the nurses knew that there were three students from the military school staying in this ward. Although not many people were around at night, they still had to be careful.

Ye Jian, who couldn’t bear to let go, hummed and whispered, ”Hug me for a while more.”

It had been too long since they last met. She had longed for him for so long. At this moment, she just wanted to hug them properly.

It was rare for her to act coquettishly. Naturally, Xia Jinyuan would go along with her. Even when the three nurses on duty at the nurses’ station stood up to watch, he was unmoved.

It was normal for a boyfriend to hug his girlfriend!
