Checking in for 100,000 Years

Chapter 653: Chapter 653: A Letter, Causes and Consequences

”Senior, the small courtyard ahead is forbidden territory for our Blood Spirit Tian. You need to enter yourself; it was the ancestor’s decree...” The old woman in the blood-colored robe led Ye Yun to a small courtyard and respectfully said.

”That’s fine.” Ye Yun quietly nodded, pulling Little Seven along with him.

The small courtyard wasn’t large, quite ordinary and simple. In the center of the courtyard stood an ancient, weathered house with green tiles.

Ye Yun pushed open the door and entered. Inside the room, a Crystal Coffin emitting a faint glow came into view.

”Brother, is there a dead person inside?” Looking at the coffin, Little Seven felt a sense of fear for some reason, even starting to tremble.

”Don’t be afraid.” Ye Yun gently patted her head and smiled. With Ye Yun’s comfort, Little Seven’s fear seemed to lessen.

Taking a deep breath, Ye Yun slowly walked towards the Crystal Coffin. In the Crystal Coffin was a small, white skeleton wearing a blue dress. The skeleton was petite, undoubtedly a woman.

Ye Yun sighed softly, his hand touching the Crystal Coffin, tears welling up in his eyes again. Undoubtedly, the one lying in the Crystal Coffin is Yun Xiao’s second reincarnation.

As for the third reincarnation, it was taken by a beam of light that descended from the sky, and its whereabouts had been unknown ever since. It was because of this second reincarnation that Yun Xiao had established Blood Spirit Tian.

Next to Yun Xiao’s skeleton was an ancient painting, which portrayed Ye Yun.

”Little girl, can’t you let me go even in death?” Ye Yun chuckled, his eyes filled with sadness. He then looked at the white skeletal hand holding a letter. Ye Yun knew that all of Yun Xiao’s secrets were probably in this letter.

He reached out and took the letter. After tearing open the wax seal, Ye Yun took out the letter and started reading carefully.

”Brother Yun, if you ever read this letter, it means you didn’t die. This conclusion matches my instinct. In reality, I always felt that you did not truly die; that feeling was extremely strong...”

Reading this, Ye Yun couldn’t help but chuckle through his tears. Was this the resonance from the unseen? Both of them had the Dragon God Bloodline, so it was quite logical for them to have such a resonance.

He continued to read. ”Brother Yun, I cultivated the Supreme Forgetting Emotions Path in order to survive. But this Divine Skill was more terrifying than I thought. I was afraid that one day I would forget you and the past. So, I made a shocking decision: I separated another self from my original body and placed all my past and memories into this new self. This way, even if this new self perishes one day, the memories of Brother Yun would still remain deep in her soul...”

What a foolish girl. Was the sacrifice worth it? Ye Yun’s hand trembled slightly, his emotions wavering, tears slowly falling onto the Crystal Coffin. Yun Xiao’s sacrifice was too great. Even Ye Yun, whose Dao Heart was as solid as a rock, felt a crack forming at this moment.

”Brother Yun, it is only possible for my real body to break through to the True God Realm by cultivating the Supreme Forgetting Emotions Path. After breaking through to the True God Realm, I will have a prolonged life waiting for you. If one day, you appear in this world, I believe you will always have a chance to find me. Although I won’t recognize you or remember you then, Brother Yun, you must remember me!

”After you recognize me, Brother Yun, I believe that with your strength, you will definitely be able to resolve the drawbacks of the Supreme Forgetting Emotions Path and let me revert to the original Yun Xiao, the little follower of Brother Yun...

”Brother Yun, you can do it, right?”

”Yes, I definitely can!” Upon reading this, Ye Yun’s feelings surged, and he couldn’t help but exclaim.

”Brother, is this letter from that deceased elder? What exactly is your relationship with her? Why did you get so excited after reading this letter?” Little Seven looked up, gazing at Ye Yun, whose tears trickled down his face, and asked in astonishment.

”You’re still young; you wouldn’t understand...” Ye Yun gently patted Little Seven’s head and then let her sink into an Illusory Realm. The child is still young. It would be better not to expose her to some memories.

So, Ye Yun activated the Sky Exterminating Phantom Eye, directly erasing some memories. He also let Little Seven submerge into an Illusory Realm.

Ye Yun lowered his head and continued reading. ”Brother Yun, the letter you are reading now was written by my alter ego. Of course, this is not my first life’s alter ego, but the second life’s.

”You must be curious about the origin of my second life’s alter ego, right? Brother Yun, actually, at that time, I was about to die. I didn’t expect that in a body of water, I would encounter a captive Black Dragon. That Black Dragon Senior’s cultivation base was incredibly formidable, but it was still trapped in its prison, unable to escape. Maybe because we both belonged to the Dragon Clan, it sympathized with me, bestowed upon me a few drops of its blood, and even taught me a profound Cultivation Technique...

”This Cultivation Technique is called The Self-made Dragon Art. It seems to be specifically designed for the Dragon Clan. I didn’t expect that after I cultivated this Technique, I managed to live a second life...

”By the way, Brother Yun, you must be curious about Blood Spirit Tian. At that time, after acquiring the Cultivation Technique, I accidentally entered a grotto beneath the water. In that place, I had another fortuitous encounter and, with the help of the Holy Water Divine Pearl, I successfully cultivated The Self-made Dragon Art and lived a second life.

”However, in that grotto, I also obtained an ancient legacy called the Blood Spirit Ban. So, I founded Blood Spirit Tian in the Extreme North Land, as a way to thank the senior in the grotto-mansion who lent me a helping hand.

”After all, without the Holy Water Divine Pearl, no matter how powerful The Self-made Dragon Art was, I would never have been able to live a second life...”

Ye Yun read up to this point, an expression of realization appearing in his eyes. So that’s how it was. Yun Xiao created Blood Spirit Tian to thank the master of the Langya Cave Mansion.

”Brother Yun, I know that when you read this, you will be happy for me, right?

”But in reality, Brother Yun, I am very sad. After The Self-made Dragon Art allowed me to live a second life, I made an astonishing discovery...

”The Self-made Dragon Art was indeed incredibly mysterious and high-level, but it had significant drawbacks. After I lived a second life, the Dragon God Bloodline in my body drastically declined by one-seventh!

”The reduction of bloodline wasn’t particularly frightening; the key point was that part of my memory also disappeared. It was very strange...

”Brother Yun, the second life I lived didn’t have the talents of my first life. Breaking through to the Eternal Realm became a pipe dream, and The Self-made Dragon Art couldn’t pass on talents...

”Brother Yun, I am not afraid of the Dragon God Bloodline disappearing. I am afraid that one day I will completely forget everything. At that time, even if you remember me, I won’t remember you... That is why I wrote this letter, hoping in my heart that you will find me someday...”

Damn it! At this point, Ye Yun’s face darkened. The Self-made Dragon Art... this Cultivation Technique is truly insidious. A technique specifically created targeting the Dragon Clan, making them gradually lose their bloodline completely during the cultivation process.
