Checking in for 100,000 Years

Chapter 254: Chapter 254: Recruiting a Saintess as a Maid

The elder was subjugated by the Big Black Cat’s coercion, standing petrified, unable to speak.

Another elder clenched his teeth, looking angrily at the Saintess who still stood by the side of the young man in white. He snarled, ”Saintess, all of this is your doing. If it weren’t for you, Vice Sect Leader Liu would still be alive.”

”...”

The Saintess was questioned by these elders under her command and was momentarily left speechless.

”Hmph!”

The elder, gaining assertiveness, continued, ”I will report this to the Sect. Your position as Saintess will not be spared.”

With her head down, the Saintess felt sorrowful, tears flickering at the corners of her eyes.

”Right, you’re no longer the Saintess of the Sacred Sect of the Mysterious Bird!”

The other elders, speaking with one voice, concurred, filled with righteous indignation.

The Saintess lowered her head even more, tears welling up and streaming down her face. Her body was shaking uncontrollably.

She never imagined that the situation would spiral out of control so drastically.

One of her subordinates, an Elder of Destiny Realm Level 7, had been killed, and Vice Sect Leader Liu was also dead.

As the one in charge of the Wu Kun Mountain Black Market, she bore an undeniable responsibility.

Not to mention that other promising female disciples from her sect could replace her at any time, she simply couldn’t escape responsibility for Vice Sect Leader Liu’s death on the spot.

This time, her position as Saintess was inevitably going to be revoked.

Ye Yun watched the beautiful girl in black, her body trembling and tears falling unceasingly. He smiled, maintaining an unaffected expression.

Suddenly, he patted her shoulder nonchalantly. ”So what if you are not the Saintess?”

Feeling his warm, large hand on her shoulder, an indescribable comforting power flowed through her.

The adorable girl in black lifted her tear-filled eyes to look at Ye Yun and suddenly burst into tears.

It seemed all her grievances exploded with that one sentence from Ye Yun.

”Follow me from now on. I just so happen to need a maidservant to pour tea and water,” Ye Yun said with a smile.

”Master, I can pour tea and water too,” Little Cat anxiously wrung her hands at the side and hastily said.

Ye Yun glanced at her and laughed. ”You have your own duties to perform.”

Little Cat uttered an ”oh,” then lowered her head, looking a bit sullen.

SLAP!

The Big Black Cat, seeing this, walked over and slapped Little Cat on top of her head in annoyance. The slap made Little Cat see stars.

”Is the Master’s business any of your concern? You must be tired of living! The Master treats you so well, yet you’re still not satisfied? Why not hand over that bag to me, along with those two tea leaves?” the Big Black Cat leaned over, speaking in a disgruntled tone.

Hearing about the bag of Dragon Spirit Pills and the two leaves of Immortal Tea, Little Cat shivered. Her eyes suddenly cleared, and she quickly recovered from her earlier despondence.

She realized the Master had been too good to her; she couldn’t be ungrateful.

”Master, I was wrong. Please forgive me,” Little Cat spoke in a tearful voice.

”Forget it, forget it. I won’t lower myself to argue with a little cat like you,” Ye Yun shook his head, dismissing it with a smile.

He looked at the surrounding terrified cultivators, and star-like runes once again flickered in his eyes.

In an instant, all the cultivators’ minds went momentarily blank.

The next moment, they were all staring at the scene before them in a daze, not knowing what had happened.

Ye Yun wiped away everyone’s memory of what had just transpired.

However, he did not erase the memories of the elders from the Sacred Sect of the Mysterious Bird.

Weren’t these fellows eager to report to the Sect? He would let them. He would just wait here to capture them all in one fell swoop.

The elders turned as white as sheets. Seeing that the young man in white made no move against them, they turned and fled.

They did not flee down the mountain but retreated back to the grand hall.

Inside the grand hall was a Teleportation Array that could transmit information to the Sect.

Such a major incident had occurred on Wu Kun Mountain; they had to report it to the Sect immediately.

Ye Yun turned his gaze back to the girl in black, smiling. ”What do you think? Have you made up your mind? Do you want to stay by my side?”

Ye Yun extended his olive branch yet again.

The beautiful girl in black was a mess of tangled emotions, her mind in chaos; she stood there blankly, not saying a word.

Deep down, she truly had indescribable feelings of admiration for this young man in white.

It was this admiration that somehow, as if by divine intervention, allowed her to overcome her mental turmoil and make the greatest decision of her life. Years later, whenever she recalled it, she always felt profoundly fortunate.

She nodded and said softly, ”I am willing to serve you, Young Master.”

”Don’t call me ’Young Master.’ Just call me ’Master’ from now on,” Ye Yun glanced at her and responded indifferently.

”Alright, Master,” the beautiful maiden in black hastily replied.

Ye Yun looked at her, smiled faintly, and asked, ”What’s your name?”

”Reporting to Master, my name is Mu Qing...” the maiden in black said, her face slightly red under Ye Yun’s gaze.

”Good!”

Ye Yun nodded, clasped his hands behind his back, and walked ahead.

He accepted this girl for two reasons: firstly, he was interested in the rich Profound Bird Bloodline within her, and secondly, he thought she had a decent character.

Coincidentally, the Dragon God Sect would need to recruit in the future, so he decided to take in a disciple with the Profound Bird Bloodline ahead of time.

In the short term, she could serve him tea and handle chores.

When he left Cangnan Continent, he would entrust Mu Qing to Luo Li’s care.

Ye Yun was a man from a hundred thousand years ago, now walking in a world a hundred thousand years later. He tried his best to avoid forming any attachments.

Seeing the Master walk ahead, seemingly lost in thought, Mu Qing quickly followed behind him.

The Big Black Cat and Little Cat exchanged glances and also followed.

”The Master has taken in a maidservant. It seems the chores of serving tea and water won’t fall to me anymore,” the Big Black Cat thought, a bit dejectedly.

However, he then considered that he was just a demonic pet. The treatment he received was already excellent, and he shouldn’t be greedy for more.

Ye Yun kept strolling around with great interest, sometimes even crouching down to look at the items on the street stalls.

He seemed to be thoroughly enjoying himself.

This made Mu Qing’s brow twitch as she watched from the side. She didn’t know what the Master was actually looking for here...

In her view, there wasn’t much worth buying from the stalls at the Wu Kun Mountain Black Market. If there was anything, the chances of finding it were extremely low.

Feeling somewhat bored, she looked at the two demon clan members beside her—a male and a female—and asked with a smile, ”And how should I address you two?”

”My name is Little Cat, Sister. I’m from the Sky Spirit Cat Clan,” Little Cat said with a radiant smile.

So she’s from the famous Sky Spirit Cat Clan! Mu Qing thought, looking at Little Cat with a hint of surprise on her face.

Then she quickly took Little Cat’s hand and said with a smile, ”It’s a pleasure to meet you, Little Cat.”

”Sister, you’re too kind,” Little Cat shyly replied.

After all, she was just a little demon at the Eighth Layer of Divine Bridge Stage, while this sister was already at Destiny Realm Level 7.

After exchanging a few words, Mu Qing turned to the black-robed young man beside them and asked with a smile, ”And what about you?”

The Big Black Cat scratched his head and said with a chuckle, ”You can just call me Little Black.”

”What a fun name!” Mu Qing giggled.

Little Cat said from the side, ”Sister, he’s from the Nine-tailed Spirit Cat Clan.”

”So it’s the Nine-tailed Spirit Cat Clan! I never would have thought both of you were from cat clans,” Mu Qing said, shocked.

Hearing this, the Big Black Cat said smugly, ”That’s nothing! The Master also has a little red cat in his carriage.”

”Really? What cat clan is that from?” Mu Qing was even more shocked.

”Hehe, I can’t tell you that. You’ll know when you see it,” the Big Black Cat said, scratching his head and laughing twice, not revealing the truth to Mu Qing.

Seeing that the Big Black Cat was about to set a trap for Mu Qing again, Little Cat’s expression shifted, and she quickly prepared to explain.

But the Big Black Cat shot her a glare, and she swallowed the words she was about to say.
