The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

The Black Robed Man, upon finishing his words, retreated and vanished into the mist.

From beginning to end, the Black Robed Man never looked at Carson Flores and Kaelithra Nixon, which made Carson secretly relieved. Sometimes, being insignificant has its perks.

Carson had considered releasing Theo before, but after witnessing that strike, he dispelled the thought.

With a strike like that, even Theo might not be able to withstand it.

After all, Theo was still a minor, his strength was still different from that of adult Starry Sky Magical Beasts.

This guy is most likely a Quasi-Saint. With such power, yet engaged in these sneaky deeds, who knows what his origins are.

Jorren Jaramillo and Grayan Darlington sat crossed-legged, putting away their magical treasures. Since the opponent possesses overwhelming strength, it was meaningless to put up a defensive posture against a formidable enemy.

Grayan Darlington wiped the fresh blood from the corner of his mouth and smiled bitterly, ”It’s true, the world is full of wonders. To reach such an age, yet to be kidnapped and extorted, if this spreads, I’ll surely become a laughingstock.”

Jorren looked helpless, ”This man’s strength is too great; he’s most likely of the Quasi-Saint kind. We couldn’t even withstand a moment when we joined forces; there’s nothing we can do.”

Jorren sighed and turned to look at Carson and Kaelithra. ”He was after us from the start. This time we’ve dragged you into this. Had I known, I would’ve returned the fire to you in Profound White Valley. At least then, he would’ve only come for us and spared you from this disaster...”

Carson replied calmly, ”It’s alright, isn’t it? He’s not after us. He’s here for profit. Once he gets the materials, we’ll be fine.”

Carson chose not to mention the Mist World. Walls have ears, and that guy must be watching this place closely. He has great skills. If he overheard his words, wouldn’t he be doomed?

Moreover, being trapped in this misty world, the urgent thing is figuring out how to escape alive. Without an escape plan, telling them everything wouldn’t help.

Revealing their identities would only incite him to kill them in a fit of rage.

When Carson was fleeing, the Black Robed Man’s gaze, as if set to burn everything, was proof enough of his intense murderous intent.

Jorren sighed, ”He says this, but who knows if, after getting what he wants, he’ll turn and deny us...”

Carson, reassuringly, said, ”With no grudges or hatred, two Peak Great Land Prime Immortals wouldn’t have a few desperate moves? If he really wants to take action, he might think twice, right? Who does things with no benefit?”

Jorren glanced at Carson and smiled, ”Let’s hope so.”

After a pause, Jorren looked at the composed Carson, ”Aren’t you afraid?”

Carson smiled, ”If it’s meant to be, it will be, if not, it won’t hide, being afraid doesn’t help. I’ve always had good fortune, so don’t worry, we’ll be fine.”

Carson truly had confidence because Kaelithra Nixon had just mentioned she still had one Space Bomb!

The last Space Bomb tore apart the Mist World, so Faustus Flores believes that by catching them off guard, they can do it again this time.

Moreover, another important reason was that Snow Zane, who had been studying the Sky Jumping Beast’s Horn in the Palace of Seven Beauties, had gained some insights. Perhaps soon, she would recover to her peak state. In such a state, she could completely fight with the strength of a Quasi-Saint Realm.

No need to defeat or kill the Black Robed Man, just tearing apart the Mist World was enough.

Once they left the Mist World, Kaelithra Nixon could ask Halvion Ward for help, or perhaps Jorren Jaramillo and Grayan Darlington would have other means, and by then, it would be the Black Robed Man rushing to escape for his life.

The Black Robed Man’s current reliance was solely on the fact that the Mist World isolated everything, thus he could suppress them fearlessly without worrying about their retaliation.

Carson wasn’t in a hurry; the longer time dragged on, the more Snow Zane’s injuries would heal!

While the two of them were conversing with the Black Robed Man, Carson and Kaelithra Nixon weren’t idle; they communicated in the background for a while. Therefore, now holding trump cards, even though not powerful, they weren’t in a rush. On the contrary, the more powerful Jorren and Grayan were the ones more worried.

Jorren and Grayan each took an elixir and sat in meditation. After half a day of healing, their injuries mostly recovered.

The four of them exchanged glances in silence, with nothing to do for the moment.

Carson blinked and said, ”Since there’s nothing to do, how about the two seniors guide me in Artifact Refining? I recently read the Jade Slip given by Senior Jaramillo and watched everyone’s artifact refining. I have many questions to ask.”

Jorren and Grayan were taken aback, exchanging a glance, seeing the surprise in each other’s eyes.

This kid’s heart is too big.

Even in such a dire situation, he still has the mindset to learn Artifact Refining?

Is he truly not afraid?

Grayan curiously asked, ”In this environment, you can still calm your mind?”

Carson chuckled, ”Of course, I can. Both of you are Master Refiners, top figures in the Refinement World. Now that we’re face to face with nothing to do, if I don’t seize the opportunity, wouldn’t it be too wasteful?”
