Chapter 2172: Chapter 2172: Every Man for Himself

Mac Browning was silent.

River Fulton spoke with great reason. Even if loyal and unyielding, ready to die rather than submit, what difference would it make?

Could it change the looming destruction of the Three Saints Sect?

If Mac Browning hadn’t seen the Black Dragon, whose strength had reached the Fifth Layer Great Perfection in such a short time, he might have hesitated. After all, as long as Armani Warren was around, there was still hope for the Three Saints Sect. But now, is there still hope for Armani Warren?

Although the strength of the Black Dragon seemed to be roughly equal to Armani Warren’s, the fact that Carson Flores could fight from nothing to such heights showed how formidable his methods were. Now with so many insiders, Armani Warren remained clueless, destined to be ensnared like them, a loss, or even death, was already the inevitable outcome.

The most subtle aspect of this whole matter was the memory loss after Nirvana Rebirth. Otherwise, if someone informed Armani Warren about what would happen after Nirvana Rebirth, he might have found a way to cope. Unlike now, being so passive.

”What do you plan to do about the Sect Master?”

River Fulton sighed: ”Do you and I not understand the Sect Master? If we betray him or even make a move against him, do you think, even with the slightest chance, that he would spare us?”

Mac Browning was speechless; indeed, they knew him well.

Armani Warren was ruthless. As long as he wasn’t dead, those of them who betrayed him would become his primary targets of vengeance, even before Carson Flores.

River Fulton advised, ”Old Mac, surrender now. Isn’t it for survival that we surrender? Think about it. If faced with the dilemma between killing us or dying himself, what choice would he make?”

Mac Browning was originally conflicted, but upon hearing River Fulton’s words, he suddenly felt enlightened.

Yes, if the choice were Armani Warren’s, what choice would he make?

Though it’s just a hypothetical, it reveals that he wasn’t truly that good to them. So, choosing to betray him when there was no other choice seemed quite normal.

People always need to find a legitimate reason for their actions; once found, their thoughts become clear, and they won’t feel conflicted anymore.

Mac Browning lifted his head: ”Alright, I’ll surrender.”

River Fulton breathed a sigh of relief and smiled.

It’s done!

Once a person makes a mistake, it’s better if everyone does it together, so no one can point fingers!

In the great hall, Carson Flores met Mac Browning.

Mac Browning’s expression was a bit complicated, but he straightforwardly bowed: ”Mac Browning greets Mr. Flores. Mr. Flores, your strategies are brilliant and your wisdom remarkable; I am convinced and willing to follow you.”

Carson Flores smiled and said: ”Good!”

Mac Browning straightforwardly offered his True Soul, completing a pact and entrusting his life to Carson Flores.

”Old River, Old Mac, you know Armani Warren best. What do you think we should do next?”

River Fulton, being Carson Flores’ appointed Sect Master, was the most proactive in wanting to take down Armani Warren and answered without hesitation: ”If our fighting power is sufficient, we can lure him out of the sect, take him down completely, then return to the sect and deal with the remaining Great Land Sovereigns. This would completely change the leadership of the Three Saints Sect, and those under Daluo would naturally go with the flow...”

Carson Flores nodded: ”A good plan. What reason do you plan to use to lure them out?”

River Fulton seemed to have already thought about it, answering quickly: ”Actually, no need to lure him out as he was already planning to go out soon to attend a gathering. With Dennis Reid and others present, we don’t have to worry about not knowing his departure time. What we need to do is set up an ambush and strive to capture him directly.”

Carson Flores’ eyes lit up slightly: ”Whom is he going to visit?”

River Fulton responded: ”The Sect Master of Flowing Cloud Sect extended the invitation. The leaders of the nearby forces will generally attend, as it’s considered an annual gathering. The main purpose is to communicate on sect matters like mineral and immortal elixir trades.”

Carson Flores nodded: ”Alright, let’s go with what you said. When the time comes, I’ll appear to lure him. As for the bait...”

Carson Flores looked at River Fulton and Mac Browning before him, with a gentle smile: ”Naturally, it would be the two of you. I wonder if he cares about your lives.”

River Fulton and Mac Browning exchanged glances, guessing Carson Flores’ thoughts, and suddenly felt rather conflicted.

Carson Flores roughly understood their thoughts, smiling: ”Don’t worry, you won’t have to act, so don’t feel guilty.”

No need to act?

Though they knew with a Fifth Layer Great Perfection Black Dragon among them, their Triple Realm selves could at most assist, it was impossible to face Armani Warren directly. But now, having Carson Flores’ assurance, they felt relieved.

For one, as traitors, they indeed felt awkward; for another, Armani Warren was a Perfection, confronting him head-on would be tantamount to throwing themselves away.
