The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 1954: Chapter 1954: Since You’re Here, Why Not Come In and Sit?

”Anyone there?”

Carson Flores shouted loudly, his voice stretched out like waves, spreading far and wide.

There was no response.

Carson Flores felt somewhat strange immediately, tilting his head and saying, ”What’s going on? Isn’t Sky Wolf Palace one of the Round Table Council members, quite powerful? Why is there not a single soul here? Have the gates been closed?”

Lilianna Norman’s expression was also puzzled: ”There’s no reason for this; nothing major has happened recently. Why would the gates be closed?”

Carson Flores didn’t think much of it at first and raised his voice again: ”Immortal Palace Envoy Carson Flores and Heavenly Fox Palace Lilianna Norman here to visit Sky Wolf Palace!”

The voice spread far again, and yet there was still no reaction.

Carson Flores was helpless: ”It seems we’ve come for nothing. Let’s check with the nearby towns to see what has happened to Sky Wolf Palace.”

Lilianna Norman nodded: ”Alright!”

Just as the three were prepared to leave, three young men and women suddenly flew over from the sky, all of them handsome and impressive in demeanor.

Carson Flores halted, and those three also noticed Carson and the others, and descended toward them.

These three were wearing navy blue magic robes, each with a snarling wolf head emblem on their chest, lifelike in its ferocity.

Carson Flores’ eyes lit up; aren’t these people from Sky Wolf Palace?

The three landed opposite Carson Flores, assessed them, and bowed, saying, ”I am Benjamin Moss, True Disciple of Sky Wolf Palace Master. May I ask who you are?”

Carson Flores bowed and introduced them, ”We’ve come to visit friends, but found the gates closed, no one outside, and no response to calls. Do you know what’s going on, Fellow Daoist Moss?”

Benjamin Moss’s expression was odd: ”Gates closed, no response?”

Carson Flores nodded: ”Fellow Daoist Moss doesn’t know about this?”

Benjamin Moss shook his head: ”I was out on a mission twenty days ago, and everything was normal in the sect. My master even urged me to return early.

Carson Flores became all the more puzzled. Benjamin Moss, as a True Disciple, his master being the Sky Wolf Palace Master, would have been informed of such a gate closure.

Everything was normal twenty days ago, but now the gates are suddenly closed mysteriously.

Carson Flores furrowed his brow; something significant must have transpired in Sky Wolf Palace.

Benjamin Moss was equally baffled, turned, and shouted loudly, ”I am Benjamin Moss, True Disciple under the Sky Wolf Palace Master. Why have the gates been closed? Let us in!”

After waiting for a while, fog suddenly enveloped the entrance, and an old man emerged with two disciples.

Benjamin Moss turned to look and breathed a sigh of relief: ”Uncle Brooks, why did the gates close all of a sudden?”

The old man smiled and said, ”Urgent matters occurred, and the sect master led all the palace’s top experts away. The defense inside the sect is weak, so we simply closed the gates, awaiting the master and others’ return.”

Benjamin Moss exclaimed in surprise: ”Where have they gone? All the sect’s experts?”

The old man smiled, ”Sect matters, we’ll discuss inside... Who might these be?”

Carson Flores reported his identity again, and the old man politely bowed, saying, ”Envoy Flores, I am Brooks Roth of Sky Wolf Palace. May I ask your purpose for visiting our palace?”

Carson Flores responded, ”We’ve come to visit a friend.”

Brooks Roth laughed, ”Who is your friend, Envoy Flores?”

Carson Flores answered, ”His name is Samir Coffey, from the Lower Realm’s Barbaric Wilderness Realm on Skyland Continent. Elder Brooks, do you know him?”

Brooks Roth’s eyes showed a moment of surprise, then returned to calm: ”I know him; he was originally the Desolate Wilderness Demon Emperor, ascended to join our palace. Envoy Flores, aside from visiting friends, is there anything else?”

Carson Flores smiled, ”Nothing particularly urgent, just relaying some recent matters under Immortal Palace orders...”

Brooks Roth bowed apologetically, saying, ”Envoy Flores, our sect is currently closed, and the sect master and others are absent. If you have any matters, perhaps you can tell me first, and I will relay them to the sect master upon their return.”

”As for your friend, I’ll have him come out to meet you, but I won’t invite everyone into the sect. I hope Envoy Flores doesn’t mind.”

Carson Flores found it slightly strange; people had reached the door, and Brooks was already out, yet he didn’t invite them in?

Considering that in the Heavenly Demon Continent, the Demon Race is sovereign and doesn’t take the Immortal Palace seriously, Carson Flores let it go.

Fortunately, Brooks’s words were still very polite, and the gate closure was indeed true, so not entering was fine. After all, what Carson Flores said about reporting was just an excuse; he just wanted to meet the Demon Emperor.

”Alright then, let him come out; we’ll meet outside.”

Carson Flores conveyed matters concerning the Heavenly Alliance: ”I know they are already in the Heavenly Demon Continent and have tried to intercept me, though unsuccessfully. The Domain Master will soon bring people to the Heavenly Demon Continent. If Sky Wolf Palace finds traces of the Heavenly Alliance members, please convey the information to Heavenly Fox Palace.”

Brooks Roth’s expression became subtly suppressed, which Carson noticed but didn’t overthink.

Who could have imagined that the entire high command of the Heavenly Alliance is currently inside Sky Wolf Palace, gathered together with cold eyes, watching Carson through spells?
