The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 1915: Chapter 1915: Isn’t This a Colony?

“It’s quite troublesome, isn’t it? You defeat the small fry, then the big ones come, defeat the big ones, and now the old ones show up. We are just a Middle Immortal Realm, opposing the major forces of a High Immortal Realm is too disadvantageous.”

Carson Flores furrowed his brow. He had encountered such situations twice before.

When in the Mortal Realm, he fought against the cultivators from the Blessed Land of Cave Heavens, and when in the Barbaric Wilderness Realm, he fought against Immortals from the Immortal Realm. Now he had become an Immortal himself, yet he might have to face powerful Great Land figures!

This is the sorrow of being grass roots.

The results of your lifelong hard work, others might have right from birth, or even have more, and better!

By yourself, you struggle for decades, but how do you fight against a coalition of mighty figures who’ve been laboring for thousands or even tens of thousands of years?

Nico Weaver cursed, “These people are really so full they don’t know what to do with themselves. Instead of staying in their High Immortal Realm nicely, they come to the Middle Immortal Realm to steal food. They’re like dogs!”

Carson Flores said helplessly, “Even though they didn’t say it, ultimately it’s for a larger territory and more resources, right? If they occupy a Middle Immortal Realm, the resources it could provide for them would be vast.”

Nico Weaver nodded, “Yes, they want to overthrow the Celestial Palace and establish a new order, not just for power, but for possession and pillaging. If they’re successful, they will exploit the Sect of the entire Immortal Realm without limit, plundering all the resources and then sending these resources back to their own Sect.”

This story sounds so familiar!

This is just colonialism, isn’t it?

Carson Flores looked at Nico Weaver and said, “Is this the fate of all Middle Immortal Realms?”

Nico Weaver shook his head, “The Immortal Realm is vast, with countless Immortal Domains, but the number of High-Level Immortal Domains is much smaller. Most Middle Immortal Realms also rely on the existence of High-Level Immortal Domains, but more in a long-term and stable tributary relationship.”

“Subordinate powers provide resources and other needed items to the affiliate power, and the powers provide the subordinates with some things they don’t have, such as cultivation techniques, or High-Level Immortal Elixirs, as rewards. Though it’s up and down, it’s not purely an exploitative relationship, more like a boss and employee, where employees work for the boss, providing services to the boss.”

“The Thunder Immortal Realm is remote and far from the God Immortal Domain, so no major forces have come to establish allegiance. The Three Saints Sect in God Immortal Domain can only be considered a middle-level power; they’ve come here evidently to exploit and plunder. If they succeed, the Thunder Immortal Realm will be in trouble.”

Carson Flores pondered, then said, “Then, is it possible to find a major force to attach ourselves to, even if as subordinates? It’s better than being exploited and harvested, right?”

Nico Weaver nodded, his expression somewhat helpless, “If there’s really no other way, that’s one route. But doing so changes the Celestial Palace from what it used to be.”

Carson Flores naturally understood Nico Weaver’s words.

If they truly submit to a major force, then in the future, whenever a low-ranking minion with their token comes, the Celestial Palace would have to treat them with respect and hospitality. And a single word from the major force means the Celestial Palace must do everything to serve them.

Carson Flores mused, “The Thunder Immortal Realm has also produced quite a few Great Land figures over the years. Could they have gone to the God Immortal Domain, joined other powerful Sects, or come into prominence?”

Nico Weaver laughed, “The closest to the Thunder Immortal Realm is indeed the God Immortal Domain. Great Land figures who leave Thunder Immortal Realm naturally first reach the God Immortal Domain. As for whether they reside there for long, that cannot be assured.”

“Are you thinking of looking into whether there’s someone powerful, to forge connections, and see if they or their Sect could shield the Thunder Immortal Realm?”

Carson Flores nodded, “Yes, if there’s truly no choice, then finding a Great Land figure with ties of affection to Thunder Immortal Realm to connect to our Sect would overall be better.”

Nico Weaver praised him, “You sure do think quickly. Do you have any other ideas?”

Carson Flores mused again, “Since the Three Saints Sect is a middle-level power, according to Immortal Realm rules, above them, there must be even stronger forces. If we could find a way to make them speak up, the Three Saints Sect would naturally listen…”

Nico Weaver shook his head, “It’s a plan, but we can’t even communicate with the Three Saints Sect. How can we converse with the forces above them? I, as the Domain Master, have authority in the Thunder Immortal Realm, but once you go to the God Immortal Domain, who will listen? People like me, if someone from the Great Land Supreme came, could easily wipe me out with a flick.”

At this point, Nico Weaver’s expression held traces of resentment and unwillingness: “You saw, I pride myself on my strength, but I couldn’t even deal with a leaf someone brought out, and was directly trapped inside. It’s like an Immortal dealing with a Hollow Void Stage; they could easily flick them to death!”

Carson Flores comforted him, “Uncle Yao, don’t get discouraged. You already have one foot in the Great Land; hurry up and step the other foot inside. Once you advance to the Great Land, won’t things get better?”

Nico Weaver slapped his leg with a loud smack: “Right, relying on others is worse than relying on oneself. I’m going to retreat now and advance to the Great Land!”

Carson Flores watched the passionate Nico Weaver and chuckled, “Uncle Yao, you can’t leave now. Aydin Hatfield escaped, we must seize the opportunity to pursue and beat the drowned dog…”
