Chapter 1586: Chapter 1586: Paradise of the Robbers

Robbers?

Carson Flores suddenly realized: ”So you’re saying, the Vast Sea Wilderness is teeming with bandits now, and if we go through this area, it’s easy to get robbed, right?”

”Yes.”

June Weiss explained: ”The Vast Sea Wilderness is vast, and the terrain is unique. Many areas are suitable for hiding. Over time, many bandits have entrenched themselves in this area, making it rather chaotic.”

Carson asked curiously, ”Then why don’t people take a detour?”

Mona Briggs interjected: ”To the east of the Vast Sea Wilderness, there’s the Raging Wind Sea, with constant storms and fierce demonic beasts in the sea, and endless turbulence in the sky, making it difficult for merchant ships to pass through. To the west, there’s the Ancient Wild Forest, home to extremely savage demonic beasts, making it extremely hazardous to pass through.”

”The Vast Sea Wilderness, located between the Raging Wind Sea and the Ancient Wild Forest, is vast with no significant demonic beasts, and thus is the safest area. The bandits don’t have the capacity to rob everyone, and most of them, even if they rob, only take valuable goods and don’t kill people. So, after weighing the options, many merchant ships still choose to pass through the Vast Sea Wilderness.”

Carson nodded immediately: ”Would bypassing the Vast Sea Wilderness take a long time?”

”Yes.”

June Weiss replied: ”If you go through the Vast Sea Wilderness, it might take four or five days, but if you take a detour, the journey would be much longer — at least over a month, which would cause a significant delay.”

”The large commercial shipping companies often have strong people in charge and are not necessarily afraid of bandits, but those small companies or private individuals with insufficient strength might be in trouble if they encounter them.”

Mona Briggs added: ”If you’re lucky, you lose your money but keep your life; if you’re unlucky, you lose both.”

Carson nodded: ”What kind of strength do these bandits generally have?”

Mona answered: ”Mostly below Immortal, but there are some with Human Immortal, Earth Immortal, and even True Immortal strength. There are rumors of Golden Immortal strength bandits too, but they’re extremely rare since someone with Golden Immortal strength could easily establish their own sect and might not be interested in robbery.”

June Weiss explained: ”Most of the bandits are in gangs with Immortals overseeing them, and a bunch of lackeys in tow. There are also powerful lone bandits, who come and go like the wind, without leaving a trace...”

This is nothing but the chaotic Central Divine Continent of the Barbaric Wilderness Realm.

I used to work with the Vajra Gang as a bandit for quite some time myself.

Recalling these past experiences, Carson couldn’t help but curl his lips, with a faint smile on his face.

”The three of us should be fine traveling through the Vast Sea Wilderness, right?”

June Weiss replied: ”We’re just passing through and don’t have a merchant ship, so the likelihood of being targeted isn’t high. Even if we are targeted, we’re not necessarily afraid; if we really can’t fight, we’ll just run. It’s unlikely a Golden Immortal would come to rob us.”

Carson nodded: ”Then let’s go through the Vast Sea Wilderness, no point in taking a detour.”

Carson made the decision, and the three of them continued onward to the Vast Sea Plains.

Every morning and evening, June Weiss would voluntarily take up cooking duties, fulfilling her role as a maiden, while Carson only had to wait to enjoy the delicious meals, resembling a wealthy young master traveling with his maiden.

A few days later, the three of them emerged out of the mountains and entered the Vast Sea Plains.

The Vast Sea Plains were shrouded in thick white fog, making it impossible to clearly see the mountains and rivers below.

The Golden-Winged Great Roc sped swiftly over mountains and rivers, which felt different from sitting on a flying boat.

”Are there villages down there, with people living?”

June Weiss replied: ”There are no demonic beast invasions in the Vast Sea Plains, and the land is fertile, which has allowed ordinary people to live there, forming various small villages, but they are rather scattered, without forming a large city.”

”These people are all ordinary and poor since wealthy people would choose to live in big cities and not in the wilderness. Even the lowest-level bandits wouldn’t be interested in their meager assets, so while merchant ships find passing through here dangerous, these ordinary people aren’t in much danger.”

Carson recalled the map of the Divine Flame Continent and smiled: ”There are quite a few areas in the Divine Flame Continent occupied by demonic beasts. In the Skyland Continent, most of the areas have been cleared of demonic beasts, all driven back to the deep mountains and forests.” 𝘧𝓇ℯℴ𝓂

June Weiss smiled: ”Each continent is different, like the Heavenly Demon Continent, where the Demon Race is in charge, and humans have become mere accessories to the Demon Race.”

As the group was discussing, a merchant ship suddenly appeared ahead, surrounded by a barrier, gigantic in size, and moving swiftly and steadily forward.

Though the Golden-Winged Great Roc spread its wings to a hundred meters, compared to this merchant ship, it was like a seagull flying by an ocean liner.

June Weiss whispered in awe: ”What a big ship!”

Mona Briggs also murmured: ”How much cargo can this hold, aren’t they afraid of being robbed?”

Carson looked at the enormous merchant ship, akin to an aerial fortress, and marveled in his heart, having never seen such a huge merchant ship before!

”Are all the merchant ships in the Divine Flame Continent this large?”

June Weiss shook her head: ”No, such large ships are rarely seen. I wonder which force owns this one...”

Carson raised an eyebrow: ”The road is wide open for all, we’ll mind our own business!”

Just as the Golden-Winged Great Roc was about to overtake the giant ship, a beam of golden light suddenly shot out from the ship, and someone laughed: ”Fellow Daoist, please stop!”
