The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 1576: Chapter 1576: Why not take action directly? Why pretend for so long!

The sky gradually darkened as Carson Flores descended into the valley.

”Let’s rest for a while, we’ll continue at dawn tomorrow.”

”Alright.”

The little roc took off again, flying into the nearby mountains and forests to search for food.

”Young Master Lin, where is it going?”

Carson Flores replied, ”It’s still in its growth phase, with an astounding appetite. It needs to eat daily. It’s gone hunting.”

June Weiss responded with an ”oh,” and curiously asked, ”I’ve heard that adult Golden-Winged Great Rocs possess astonishing power, capable of challenging even Peak Heavenly Immortals. What level of strength does the little one have now?”

Carson Flores smiled and said, ”About Early Stage Earth Immortal level. It’s only a few years old, still a child.”

June Weiss marveled, ”Already comparable to an Earth Immortal at such a young age, it truly lives up to the reputation of the Golden-Winged Great Roc.”

Carson Flores stopped by the pond in the valley, casually reached out into the water, and scooped out over a dozen fish of various kinds and sizes, which landed at his feet.

Carson Flores inspected them briefly, selected two, and kicked the rest back into the water.

June Weiss watched Carson Flores curiously, ”Young Master Lin, what are you planning to do?”

Carson Flores smiled, ”I’m cooking. Don’t you usually eat?”

June Weiss looked curiously, ”Young Master Lin, you can cook? When traveling, isn’t it enough to just eat a Fasting Pill?”

Carson Flores asked, ”Do Fasting Pills taste good?”

June Weiss shook her head, ”They don’t really taste like anything. You just swallow them in one gulp, there’s no flavor.”

Carson Flores shrugged, ”Exactly.”

Carson Flores busily processed the two fish, slicing one into sashimi and placing it in a dish, casting a freezing spell casually to cool the fish down; the other one, he cut into chunks and began to fry them on a pan.

June Weiss and Mona exchanged a glance, their eyes slightly quirky, but soon after, both returned to their usual calm.

Soon, Carson Flores completed the dinner, dividing the fried fish into three plates and handing them to the two girls, while the fresh sashimi was placed in the center of the table with three dipping sauce dishes.

”So delicious!”

June Weiss tasted a few bites and expressed her surprise, ”Young Master Lin, you’re truly talented! Such amazing culinary skills...”

Carson Flores laughed, ”Just ordinary level, the main thing is the quality of the ingredients.”

After the meal, June Weiss eagerly suggested, ”Mona, why don’t you collect the dishes?”

Carson Flores didn’t stop her. Having someone do the dishes was indeed convenient.

Carson Flores and June Weiss chatted casually, occasionally glancing at Mona, who silently washed the dishes, with a hint of playful amusement in their eyes.

The three of them traveled together like this for seven or eight days, getting used to each other’s company.

”This is the Moon-Worship Mountain Range. Once we pass through, we’ll reach the Vast Sea Wilderness. Crossing the Vast Sea Wilderness will bring us quite close to the Thousand Flowers Palace.”

Carson Flores smiled and said, ”Let’s get past the Moon-Worship Mountain Range first. We’ll travel along the edges, detouring slightly. I’m worried we’ll run into formidable demonic beasts in the central area; with my level of strength, I couldn’t handle that.”

In the evening, Carson Flores once again prepared a delicious meal, specifically making it spicy, with a numbing heat that left the two girls’ faces flushed red.

”So spicy...”

June Weiss took out a bottle of light green liquid, drank a sip, and let out a long breath.

”It’s spicy, but really delicious. Young Master Lin, your cooking skills are truly exceptional.”

After a pause, June Weiss took out two more bottles, handing one to Mona and one to Carson Flores.

”Young Master Lin, this is a specialty I bought on the journey, Hundred Fruit Juice, very good at relieving spiciness and slightly sour, it really stimulates the appetite. Would you like to try it?”

”Thank you.”

Carson Flores reached out to take it, opened it, and took a sip.

Hmm, slightly sour, slightly sweet, a bit like kiwi juice, quite tasty, although there seems to be a faint strange fragrance hidden within the juice’s flavor.

Carson Flores’s eyes narrowed slightly, with a soft chuckle, ”It’s quite pleasant, I think girls would particularly enjoy this taste.”

June Weiss softly chuckled, ”Generally speaking, women would indeed prefer this flavor. But paired with these spicy dishes, it’s just perfect now.”

”Hmm!”

After dinner, Mona continued to clean the dishes. Carson Flores returned to his small resting pavilion, sat cross-legged on the bed, and soon collapsed onto the bed, falling into a deep sleep.

June Weiss glanced at Carson Flores, lying on the soft couch of the pavilion, a hint of delight in her eyes.

”Young Master Lin...”

Carson Flores did not respond, still deeply asleep.

June Weiss approached a few steps, raising her voice slightly, ”Young Master Lin?”

Carson Flores remained unresponsive.

Mona spoke up, ”After consuming the Three-Day Intoxication, he won’t wake for two days straight, no need to call.”

Mona’s voice was cold and blunt, but June Weiss paid no mind, turning around with a laugh, ”It’s always better to be cautious.”

Mona frowned, displeased, ”He’s merely an Early Stage Earth Immortal, and even that Golden-Winged Great Roc is only comparable to an Earth Immortal. Is there any need to be this cautious? Just make a move, why follow him all this distance, it’s a total waste of time!”

June Weiss laughed, ”It’s easier to act when you’ve gotten familiar. If you can use your brain, why use brute force? Most importantly, what if the Golden-Winged Great Roc got away? Do you even have any idea how much a juvenile Golden-Winged Great Roc is worth?”

Mona pursed her lips, ”You’re having all the fun, playing the damsel in distress, enjoying yourself, while I have to serve tea, clean up, and wash dishes, hmph...”

June Weiss blinked and laughed, ”I’ll give you an extra half share, how about it? Are good sisters really haggling over this?”
