The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 1294: Chapter 1294: Big Sister, What Do You Want to Do to Me?

Carson Flores was stunned.

In his estimation, since he had just arrived, they should have restricted his movements and not let him come into contact with more potentially sensitive information.

He was allowed to wander around the place?

”Thank you, senior.”

Of course, Carson Flores was willing to look around; although it wasn’t likely to bump into Shirley Miller, interacting with more people here, talking more, and understanding more, could always gather more information.

”Come with me.”

The elder led Carson Flores back to the front yard, where the old woman was still lying in the chair, seemingly untouched, but as Carson Flores left the courtyard, he distinctly felt her gaze.

This old woman, something was off.

The elder took Carson Flores to a small wooden hut not far away, saying with a smile, ”For these days, you may stay here. If you need anything, feel free to come and find me in my yard.”

”Thank you, senior.”

The elder smiled and said, ”My surname is James, Ameer James.”

Ameer James?

Carson Flores subconsciously remembered the man who had captured Shirley Miller, Kobe Tate. Ameer James?

Tate, next James?

Seeming to see through Carson Flores’s confusion, Ameer James took the initiative to explain: ”My surname is James. I abandoned my real name a long time ago. Everyone here does this, adding their surname to a sequential heavenly stem. After all, there aren’t many people, and you’ll get used to it.”

Carson Flores suddenly understood; he had been somewhat worried that Kobe Tate might not be from Mystical Immortal Island, but now he believed it. Now, his task was to find out where she was.

According to the timeline, she must have been brought back here by now.

”Alright, just take a stroll around the village.”

Carson Flores blinked, ”Are there any taboos?”

Ameer James laughed, ”No taboos here; we don’t have many people. Everyone is always happy to see visitors from outside since living here, they are all curious about the outside world.”

”Oh, by the way, feel free to wander around the village, but do not go to the back mountain. That area is reserved for the Immortals for meditative retreat, and of course, it is guarded. Even if you went there, you wouldn’t be able to enter.”

Back mountain!

Carson Flores’s heart skipped a beat. It seemed all the secrets of Mystical Immortal Island were behind that mountain peak, or maybe even inside it.

If Shirley Miller wasn’t in this village, could she be there?

Carson Flores readily agreed, ”Alright, I definitely won’t wander off.”

After Ameer James left, Carson Flores toured around the house before stepping outside.

The village covered a considerable area, and just as Carson Flores hadn’t walked far, he encountered a middle-aged woman, who retained a youthful charm, pruning flowers in her front yard.

”Hello, madam...”

The middle-aged woman looked up, seemingly stunned for a moment, then immediately smiled warmly, ”Newcomer?”

Carson Flores nodded, ”Yes, just arrived.”

The middle-aged woman carrying the shears came out, staring at Carson Flores with a beaming smile and circled around him, that direct and bold scrutiny making Carson slightly uncomfortable.

Is this woman usually this direct?

”Young man, early stages of Hollow Void?”

Smiling, Carson Flores flattered, ”Yes, madam, you are truly remarkable to see that at a glance.”

The middle-aged woman smiled, ”Not bad in strength, how old are you?”

Carson Flores replied, ”Just over two hundred.”

The woman’s eyes brightened intensively, her gaze fervent, ”Not bad, still a robust young man.”

Carson Flores, seeing the bright gleam in the middle-aged woman’s eyes, felt vaguely uneasy.

Is this what you think of me after our first meeting?

Are there so few people here that this woman has become desperate for a man?

”Madam...”

”Why stand at the door? Come in and sit. I just brewed some excellent wine a few days ago; I’ll treat you to a drink. Tell me about the outside world. We haven’t had newcomers in a long time, and all we have here are some old folks. I don’t even have anyone to talk to, it’s so boring.”

Before Carson Flores could respond, the woman grabbed his arm and pulled him straight into the courtyard.

Madam, how desperate are you?

Meeting for the first time, and you’re already grabbing my hand?

What are you trying to do?

Inside the courtyard, the woman genuinely brought out a jar of wine and served two dishes as side dishes.

”Come, let’s talk while we drink...”

Carson Flores blinked, ”Madam, isn’t it a bit early to start drinking during the day?”

Smiling, the woman poured wine into Carson Flores’s bowl, ”I’m not like Ameer James, drinking tea all day. Tea isn’t as good as wine...”

Carson Flores no longer refused; he actually wanted to probe for some news.

Ameer James mentioned that only Demi Immortals able to stay here were exceptionally strong, seeking longer lifespans; Carson Flores figured he wouldn’t be able to defeat any of them.

Since he couldn’t outfight them, he had to outwit them.

The wine was excellent, rich in Immortal Spirit Qi. One sip, and the Immortal Spirit Qi was absorbed by his meridians, holding off many days’ worth of cultivation.

There were indeed many excellent things here. No wonder everyone who entered Mystical Immortal Island left with significantly improved strength. And those were the ones without cultivation talents or Immortal Fates; how much more could someone gain with those?

After some casual conversation with the woman and midway through the drink, her cheeks blushed slightly, her eyes watery and added with a touch of allure, almost dripping water.

”Brother Lin, I heard there have been significant changes outside recently, even Immortals appearing, do you know what’s going on?”
