I Became the Villain Alpha's Omega (BL)

The world didn’t end with some dramatic explosion or tragic final speech. It ended with the smell of old cedar, a stupidly heavy fur blanket, and the kind of terrifying peace Cherion had forgotten people could actually feel.

When he finally cracked his eyes open, the whole room was soaked in that lazy golden late-afternoon sunlight. The brutal mountain cold stayed trapped outside the thick log walls, and for the first time in what felt like forever, the constant angry static in Cherion’s brain had just... shut up.

Seriously. Gone.

Like somebody had finally walked up to a TV that had been blasting white noise for six straight months and yanked the plug out of the wall. The silence was so intense it almost made his ears ring.

Cherion didn’t move. Mostly because he physically couldn’t.

A massive arm was wrapped around his waist like a possessive seatbelt, pinning him to the mattress with enough weight to qualify as structural damage. Behind him, he could feel the slow, steady thud of a heartbeat against his back, a deep, heavy rhythm that somehow synced up with his own until he genuinely couldn’t tell where he ended and Zarius began.

Then the memories started coming back. Not sharp or awful this time. Warm.

He squeezed his eyes shut, and suddenly the highlight reel of the last twelve hours started playing. It was a lot. He remembered the low, animalistic growls Zarius kept making and the way those massive hands had moved him around like he was some rare, shiny trophy Zarius had just won at a fair. Like a prize? Seriously? Cherion hadn’t even known he had a ”handle with care” sticker on him.

Between the Duke’s mouth being glued to his nipples and those deep, soul-shattering thrusts, Cherion’s brain had basically turned into mush. The most vivid part was definitely the ”lock.” That thick, internal swelling had made him feel like they were being hot-glued together.

And then, he remembered the marathon that followed.

Yes, because apparently once the bond snapped into place, the universe decided moderation was for cowards.

They hadn’t stopped after the first round. Or the second. Or honestly anything resembling a reasonable number.

Thinking about it now, in the sober light of the afternoon, Cherion didn’t feel the sharp sting of embarrassment he usually would. Instead, a small, devious bubble of laughter rose in his chest. He couldn’t help it. He buried his face into the dark, scent-heavy furs of the pillow and let out a soft, muffled giggle.

Testing his new reality, Cherion turned his head slightly. He took a long, deep breath, his nose brushing against the skin of the shoulder behind him. Sniff. Sniff.

It was addictive. He smelled like a very expensive, very dangerous candle. It was grounding. It was safety. He wanted to live in that scent. He wanted to sew it into his clothes so he’d never have to be without it.

The massive body behind him stirred. The ”mountain” shifted, and the arm around Cherion’s waist tightened, pulling him back until his spine was flush against a broad, scarred chest.

”You’re awake,” a voice rumbled.

Cherion turned in the circle of those arms, finding himself face-to-face with Zarius. The Duke’s hair was a complete disaster, tangled, wild, and spilling over his forehead. His pupils were still blown wide from the bond, and his expression had gone soft in a way that honestly should’ve been illegal for a man that terrifying.

”Good morning,” Zarius whispered, leaning down to press a slow, lingering kiss to the corner of Cherion’s mouth.

”It’s definitely not morning,” Cherion murmured back, his voice sounding just as wrecked. He looked at the golden light hitting the floor. ”I think we missed morning about eight hours ago?”

Zarius hummed, a low, vibrating sound that Cherion could feel in his own ribs. ”Then good afternoon.”

Cherion smiled automatically. ”Good afternoon, Your...”

He stopped. Zarius’s eyebrow shot up. He didn’t even need to say anything. The look on his face practically screamed, Oh, we’re calling me that again? Interesting choice.

Cherion cleared his throat, a playful spark lighting up his eyes. He tried again. ”Zarius. Uuumm... actually no. Not Your Zarius. Technically, you’re my Zarius. And I’m your Cherion.”

The reaction was immediate.

The man actually purred. A deep, territorial rumble rolled out of his chest hard enough to shake the entire bed, and before Cherion could even laugh about it, Zarius lunged forward and buried his face into Cherion’s neck like a starving man finding religion.

”Indeed,” Zarius growled against his skin, the word muffled and rough. ”Mine. Entirely.”

He proceeded to pepper Cherion’s face with kisses, on his jaw, the tip of his nose, his forehead, acting as if he were a man who had been starving for years and had finally found a feast. Each kiss was an anchor, a promise that the ”Solid Steel” mask was gone, at least when they were alone.

Cherion propped himself up on one elbow and glanced around. ”So,” Cherion said, trying to sound serious but failing miserably. ”Now that I’ve officially claimed a Duke... I have a very important question.”

Zarius smoothed a thumb over Cherion’s cheekbone. ”Anything.”

”Where the hell are we?” Cherion asked, a grin tugging at his lips. ”Please tell me this isn’t some random stranger’s house. I’d really like confirmation that we didn’t break into a stranger’s home just to commit highly illegal activities while the owner was out collecting firewood.”

Zarius actually laughed, a real, genuine sound that transformed his face, making him look years younger. ”You think I’d take you to a stranger’s house for our first time?”

”I mean, you were a bit... motivated,” Cherion teased, poking Zarius’s chest. ”I honestly wouldn’t have been shocked if you kicked down a random door and called it destiny.”

”Relax,” Zarius said, catching Cherion’s hand and kissing the palm. ”This place is mine. It’s a private hunting lodge. No one comes here without my permission, and the other knows better than to follow me when I head this way. Usually, I use it to rest when the hunt gets too long.”

Cherion let out a dramatic sigh, slumping back into the furs. ”Hoo, okay. Good. I was worried we’d have to add ’breaking and entering’ to our list of sins.”

”Sins are only a problem if you regret them,” Zarius rumbled, his hand sliding down to Cherion’s hip. ”And I don’t plan on letting you regret anything.”

Cherion felt the sudden shift in the air, the way Zarius’s scent sharpened, turning heavy and dark again. He knew that look. He knew what happened when those red eyes started to glow like that.

But as much as he wanted to stay in that bed forever, his body had other ideas.

”As much as I love that plan,” Cherion said, patting Zarius’s cheek. ”If I don’t get into some hot water and wash the last twelve hours off of me, I think I might actually fuse to these furs permanently.”

With a sudden burst of energy, Cherion tossed the heavy blanket aside.

He didn’t reach for his clothes. He didn’t look for a towel. He simply stood up, completely naked in the afternoon light. The cool air of the room hit his skin, but he didn’t shiver. He felt a strange sense of power in his own nudity, a confidence that came from knowing that every inch of his body was now ”claimed” by the man sitting on the bed.

He walked toward the door, fully aware that Zarius was watching him. Not casually, either. The man’s gaze felt heavy enough to physically trip him on the way out.

At the doorway, Cherion stopped. He looked back over his shoulder, a smirk spreading across his face. He leaned against the doorframe, one hand resting on his hip, letting the golden light highlight the marks Zarius had left on his skin.

”I’m not sure I even have the strength to scrub my own back right now. I hope my Alpha is as good at washing as he is at... other things.”

Zarius didn’t say a word. He didn’t have to.

The mattress practically sighed in defeat as Zarius surged out of bed after him. The man looked huge, dangerous, and deeply offended. Cherion didn’t even slow down. He just laughed and walked away like this wasn’t absolutely going to become his problem in thirty seconds.
