Chapter 1196: Chapter 1196: Honored Elder Delegate

Feng Wuchen claimed he was a Heavenly Grade Artifact Refiner, but the Soul Stone Monument test revealed that his soul power had reached the Celestial Immortal Grade.

Now, with the display of the divine skill Thought-Forming Instrumentation, it was undoubtedly the realm of a Divine Grade Artifact Refiner.

Thus, Bai Hun and the others were uncertain of Feng Wuchen’s true level, but they were more inclined to believe it was the latter.

After all, the divine skill Thought-Forming Instrumentation had never appeared before in the Heavenly Realm.

”Master Feng, please have some tea.” A beautiful maiden brought tea to him.

”Thank you.” Feng Wuchen smiled warmly as he expressed his gratitude to the maid.

”President Bai, may I ask why you’ve invited me here?” Feng Wuchen casually inquired, taking a sip of tea before nodding with approval, saying, ”This is excellent tea.”

”Earlier, Elder Qiao came to enroll Master Feng on your behalf, and we were somewhat skeptical. We hope Master Feng can forgive us.” The steward elder quickly clasped his fists and spoke respectfully.

”Elder Steward, you’re overthinking it. I didn’t mind at all. I joined simply out of curiosity about the Heavenly Tomb.” Feng Wuchen replied with a faint smile and took another sip of tea.

”Master Feng, the entrance to the Heavenly Tomb is located in the rear mountains of the guild. You may enter anytime.” Bai Hun added, his respectful demeanor making it hard to believe he was the president of the guild.

Feng Wuchen furrowed his brows slightly and asked curiously, ”The Heavenly Tomb is an ancient battlefield. Why is it under the guild’s control? I mean no offense, just curious.”

Though the guild was strong, it was considerably weaker compared to the Spirit Emperor Temple.

The Heavenly Tomb, as an ancient battlefield, by rights, should be controlled by a stronger power, which perplexed Feng Wuchen.

Bai Hun smiled faintly and said, ”The Heavenly Tomb was discovered by the guild’s ancestors, who then established the guild here. Later, a new seal was placed, and it has been under our guild’s control ever since.”

”I see.” Feng Wuchen nodded thoughtfully and mused to himself, ”As an ancient battlefield, it must be filled with a lot of resentment. Even if treasures abound, it wouldn’t be ideal for cultivation and likely poses certain dangers; otherwise, why would it need to be sealed?”

”Master Feng, would you like to enter the Heavenly Tomb now?” Yang Qianxiao asked respectfully.

”No, I’ll go along with everyone else. Drawing special attention might invite unpleasant rumors.” Feng Wuchen shook his head.

Bai Hun then asked, ”Master Feng, may I ask who your esteemed mentor is?”

”The Evil Dragon God.” Feng Wuchen replied straightforwardly, knowing they wouldn’t recognize the name anyway.

”Evil Dragon God? Is that part of the Dragon God Clan?”

As expected, Bai Hun and the others were utterly puzzled, having never heard of the Evil Dragon God.

”Don’t mind it. You wouldn’t have met him. My mentor keeps to himself and is a transcendent recluse.” Feng Wuchen smiled faintly.

”I see.” Bai Hun and the others nodded earnestly, convinced of the explanation.

For someone as young as Feng Wuchen to reach the level of a Divine Grade Artifact Refiner, his mentor must surely be a remarkable figure beyond their knowledge.

Bai Hun exchanged glances with the others, and Yang Qianxiao immediately beseeched, ”Master Feng, with your unparalleled Artifact Refining skills and your mastery of Thought-Forming Instrumentation, this is truly a blessing for the Heavenly Realm. We humbly ask you to join our Artificer Guild to help revitalize the Artifact Refining practice in the Heavenly Realm.”

”Master Feng, please join the Artificer Guild.” Bai Hun and the others respectfully pleaded in unison.

Evidently, this was the true purpose behind their invitation to Feng Wuchen to the main hall.

”So these old foxes had this in mind all along.” Feng Wuchen thought to himself with quiet amusement.

In terms of mentality, Feng Wuchen certainly had the composure befitting a Divine Grade Artifact Refiner. However, in terms of actual level, he was merely a Heavenly Grade Artifact Refiner.

As for his formidable soul power, it was naturally linked to his strong mental state.

”Don’t forget, I’m an assassin from Tianying Pavilion, and a sworn enemy of Emperor Ling. That old monster wishes me dead at every moment. Furthermore, Tianying Pavilion opposes the Divine Clan’s Heavenly Authority directly. If I join the Artificer Guild, it’ll only bring trouble upon you.” Feng Wuchen shook his head slightly, appearing considerate of the guild’s well-being.

However, Bai Hun immediately responded, ”Master Feng is a Divine Grade Artifact Refiner and a member of Tianying Pavilion. Although Emperor Ling is not one of the Great Eight Heavenly Emperors, he wouldn’t dare act recklessly. Moreover, the Artificer Guild is not something Emperor Ling could take down so easily.”

”That’s right! The Artificer Guild spans across the Ling Realm and even the Heavenly Realm. Today’s events will soon spread far and wide, and when that happens, Emperor Ling wouldn’t dare lay a hand on you, Master Feng.” Yang Qianxiao said with certainty.

”This...” Feng Wuchen hesitated, genuinely worried about causing trouble for the guild.

Emperor Ling was one of the Great Eight Heavenly Emperors. If he allied with other Heavenly Emperors, it would undoubtedly be effortless for him to target the guild.

”Master Feng, we implore you to join the Artificer Guild.” Bai Hun and the others once again pleaded respectfully.

Many Artifact Refiners longed to join the Artificer Guild but couldn’t, whereas Bai Hun and the others were now humbling themselves to invite Feng Wuchen.

Feng Wuchen remained silent and didn’t respond.

”Master Feng, if you agree to join the Artificer Guild, even the position of president can be yours.” Bai Hun said hastily.

The addition of Feng Wuchen to the guild would undoubtedly elevate their refinement levels drastically, thereby greatly increasing the guild’s strength.

Hearing this, Feng Wuchen was taken aback and quickly replied, ”President Bai, please don’t scare me. I’m not worthy of such an offer.”

Bai Hun’s proposal to relinquish the presidency had startled Feng Wuchen significantly.

”Master Feng, as long as you’re willing to join the Artificer Guild, you can have any position you desire.” Bai Hun quickly added.

”Master Feng, our Artifact Refining levels have stagnated, and we earnestly ask you to join the guild to guide us.” Yang Qianxiao pleaded, dropping to his knees as he spoke.

”To be honest, I don’t wish to join the guild. The Great Eight Heavenly Emperors are extremely powerful, and I can’t risk dragging you into this.” Feng Wuchen solemnly declined, his tone serious and unwavering.

”Master Feng...” Bai Hun and the others grew increasingly anxious.

Qiao Sanfeng then spoke, ”President, what Master Feng said is not unfounded. Master Feng is in constant danger. Even I dare not openly associate with him as my mentor. The Great Eight Heavenly Emperors are not to be trifled with.”

”This...” Bai Hun and the others were left speechless.

”How about this, I’ll take the position of Honored Elder Delegate for the guild. That way, I’m not officially part of the guild, but it must remain a secret.” After some thought, Feng Wuchen proposed.

”Of course!” Bai Hun agreed without hesitation.

”That’s wonderful!” Yang Qianxiao and the others rejoiced.

”Thank you, Master Feng!” Bai Hun quickly expressed his gratitude.

”President Bai, Elder Yang, there’s no need for formalities. I’m not accustomed to it.” Feng Wuchen said with a faint smile.

”That won’t do. Proper hierarchy must be observed.” Su Xuan quickly interjected.

Bai Hun nodded repeatedly, laughing as he said, ”Indeed, indeed. Hierarchy cannot be ignored.”

”...” Feng Wuchen silently sighed to himself in resignation.

Bai Hun then smiled and said, ”Master Feng, please rest for now. We’ll make arrangements for tomorrow’s journey to the Heavenly Tomb.”
