Chapter 1186: Chapter 1186: Seeking Justice

”This voice is...” In one corner of the plaza, an elderly man in a white robe looked toward the entrance in shock, hearing a familiar voice.

The guild president and elders approached as the crowd made way for them, and powerhouses from various factions watched from afar.

”Hmm? This face looks so familiar—wait, isn’t he the gold-ranked assassin Wind Shadow from Tianying Pavilion?”

”It’s really him! There’s no mistaking it! How dare he come here to the Artificer Guild and cause trouble, especially with Qiao Sanfeng? What is their relationship?”

”Destroying Emperor Ling’s Heavenly Spirit Stone mine, slaughtering the Sky Martial Sect, and annihilating the Heavenly Monarch powerhouses of Moon God Palace—what wouldn’t Wind Shadow dare to do?”

”What? Wind Shadow? Is he really the infamous gold-ranked assassin Wind Shadow?”

When the powerhouses of various factions shifted their gazes downward, many quickly recognized Feng Wuchen. Meanwhile, the people of Tiandu also learned of Feng Wuchen’s true identity for the first time.

”Palace Master, he is Wind Shadow!”

”Father! It was him who beat me up! It’s absolutely him! I couldn’t possibly mistake him!” Chi Yue angrily pointed at Feng Wuchen, speaking with rage and itching to strike.

But Chi Qingshan stopped her, glaring coldly at Feng Wuchen and stating, ”This is the Artificer Guild; refrain from interfering. Let them handle it themselves.”

Chi Qingshan furrowed his brows in confusion and asked, ”Why is Qiao Sanfeng associating with Feng Wuchen?”

”Father, under no circumstances can we let him leave the Artificer Guild alive!” Chi Yue gritted her teeth in anger.

”Fear not, Eldest Miss. I will keep a close eye on him; he won’t escape,” the Grand Commander respectfully assured her, confident in his abilities.

Chi Qingshan, as the Moon God Palace Master of Spirit Capital, held an exceptional status and was naturally included in the guild’s invitation list.

In addition to him, powerhouses from other Spirit Capital factions, such as Sky Martial Sect and Proud Cloud City, were also present.

Only people from Spirit Capital had seen Feng Wuchen’s face and portrait. The people of Tiandu had merely heard of his name and deeds but had never encountered him personally.

”What exactly happened?” The guild president approached, asking in a deep voice as his imposing aura rolled out fiercely, commanding attention.

The guild president, an elderly man with a head full of white hair, was named Bai Hun. He was a Heavenly Deity Realm powerhouse and also a formidable Artifact Refiner.

”Greetings, President,” Qiao Sanfeng quickly saluted.

The supervising elder immediately explained, ”Reporting to the President, it is merely a minor misunderstanding. The guards had a conflict with Feng Wuchen, but it won’t delay the Artifact Refining Assembly.”

”President, let me explain. I disciplined them for three reasons: First, to teach them what respect means. Second, to remind them of their place and that of Artifact Refiners. And third, to show them that disciplining them was justified.” Feng Wuchen stated coldly.

”So, you’re Feng Wuchen?” Bai Hun scrutinized him and asked.

”Indeed, I am.” Feng Wuchen answered calmly, completely unafraid of revealing his identity since it was already exposed.

”Elder Qiao is not only a guild Artifact Refiner but also the third elder of the Domain Commerce Association. You should be well aware of his stature. President, tell me, in the Artificer Guild, who holds a higher status—Artifact Refiners or guards?” Feng Wuchen asked aggressively.

Bai Hun glanced at the two guards who had been beaten and replied in a deep voice, ”Naturally, Artifact Refiners hold a higher status.”

Feng Wuchen smiled faintly and said, ”It’s apparent to me that Elder Qiao is not welcomed in the guild, yet the guild does nothing about it. The Artificer Guild is renowned throughout the Heavenly Realm—don’t you worry that these guards might tarnish its reputation? It is because of the guild’s complacency that these guards have become increasingly reckless and arrogant.”

”President, they were late and tried to barge in!” one of the injured guards quickly argued.

”Late? Has the Artifact Refining Assembly begun? Why is it that I haven’t sensed even the faintest trace of refining energy?” Feng Wuchen retorted.

”...” Bai Hun and the others had no response.

Feng Wuchen continued, ”Elder Qiao’s position in the commerce association is equivalent to that of an elder in the guild—an exalted status. I do not understand why he tolerates staying in the guild despite the disrespect. I merely want justice for the Artifact Refiners. If there are Artifact Refiners present who have been ridiculed or insulted by guards, could you tolerate it like Elder Qiao has?”

”Elder Qiao could very well leave the guild and return to enjoy his role as the comfortable third elder of the association. If he stays here, I imagine it is because he wishes to learn artifact refining.”

”He’s right! If it were me, I couldn’t stand for it.”

”Exactly! How could guards even think of comparing themselves to Artifact Refiners?”

”Those two guards are asking for death.”

Many Artifact Refiners began voicing their agreement with Feng Wuchen’s sentiments.

”What do you intend to do?” one of the elders asked, displeased.

”I don’t intend to do anything. I simply want everyone in the Artificer Guild to understand that Elder Qiao’s status is far beyond that of the guards or even the guild’s Artifact Refiners. Do not think being part of the guild makes you exceptional. It is the guild that is exceptional, not you Artifact Refiners. The guild provides opportunities to learn—not a pretext to abuse its power.” Feng Wuchen responded coldly, showing no fear of antagonizing the Artificer Guild.

”You insolent brat! You dare insult the Artificer Guild!” a Heavenly Grade Artifact Refiner roared furiously.

”Who do you think you are? Just a gold-ranked assassin from Tianying Pavilion. You’re not qualified to speak such nonsense here.”

”You brat, insulting the Artificer Guild—are you courting death?”

”President, elders, it’s clear Feng Wuchen is here to stir up trouble.”

Bai Hun raised his hand slightly, signaling for silence. He then said, ”You’re right; it is indeed the guild’s oversight. Guards should never exceed the status of Artifact Refiners. Their insults toward Elder Qiao were indeed unacceptable, and your discipline of them was warranted.”

”President, it is my failure in management,” the supervising elder quickly admitted, assuming full responsibility.

”Grandfather, during the time you and the elders were in seclusion, Elder Qiao endured considerable mistreatment. Feng Wuchen’s words are indeed valid. In the guild, there are arrogant Artifact Refiners and even some guards who...” Yun Wuying began, but Bai Hun interrupted.

”No need to say more.” Bai Hun gestured dismissively and turned to Qiao Sanfeng, saying, ”Elder Qiao, I deeply apologize for the grievances you’ve endured. I was completely unaware of this, nor did I know of the guild’s internal issues. I sincerely apologize and regret breaching the association president’s trust.”

Qiao Sanfeng was profoundly moved and quickly responded, ”President, you’ve said too much.”

”Zhentian, immediately investigate all Artifact Refiners within the guild, including the guards. No matter who they are, anyone found guilty of what Feng Wuchen described must be expelled from the guild, never to be reinstated! The Artificer Guild will not tolerate such occurrences ever again.” Bai Hun declared sternly, his overwhelming aura erupting like a storm.

”Understood, President!” A respectfully transmitted voice echoed from within the depths of the palace.

The Artificer Guild fell into a flurry as numerous Artifact Refiners began to panic.

”Heavenly Deity Realm!” Chi Qingshan frowned slightly, muttering inwardly, ”The guild’s strength is becoming more terrifying by the day.”
