Chapter 668: Chapter 668: I Will Decide for You Chapter 668: Chapter 668: I Will Decide for You “The Xia Family is really out of line, aren’t they?”

Upon hearing Liu Qingyang’s words, Feng Wuchen was stunned, having never heard of such an absurd matter.

“To marry a wife without welcoming her, who would marry off? To marry without holding a banquet, aren’t they afraid of others mocking the Xia Family for being stingy?” Feng Wuchen shook his head, truly helpless.

“The Grand Commander is absolutely right. If it weren’t for Liumeier being pregnant, I would have never agreed to this marriage!” the elder lamented angrily, his old face looking very unsightly.

Xia Yu’s remarks had already brought shame upon the Liu Family.

“Xia Yun is too spineless, isn’t he? He can’t even decide for the woman he loves.” Feng Wuchen shook his head helplessly, and it was no wonder that everyone was so indignant.

The actions of the Xia Family, Feng Wuchen found them much too excessive.

“Big Brother Feng, we absolutely cannot allow Liumeier to be wronged!” Liu Qingyang said angrily.

“That’s right! Hall Master, let’s go to the Xia Family right now!” Leng Mucheng and the others responded in succession, ready to teach the Xia Family a lesson.

“Grand Commander, we must not use force in this matter,” pleaded the Family Head of the Liu Family hastily.

“I know.” Feng Wuchen nodded and smiled, “We can only deliver her ourselves.”

“What? We are to deliver her ourselves?” Upon hearing Feng Wuchen’s words, Liu Qingyang and the others were shocked and looked at Feng Wuchen in disbelief.

Miao Qingqing asked in astonishment, “Big Brother Feng, is that correct? If we deliver her, will Liumeier still have any status in the Xia Family? I’m afraid even the servants would dare to bully her then!”

“Isn’t there Xia Yun to protect Liumeier? Although that kid is a bit weak, at least he wouldn’t bully Liumeier, right?” Feng Wuchen spread his hands.

“Teacher, you can tolerate such bullying from the Xia Family?” Zhang Junlan asked, dumbfounded, feeling that this didn’t seem like Feng Wuchen’s usual style.

“This is the Liu Family’s affair, Uncle Liu has made a decision, and naturally, he has his reasons,” Feng Wuchen shrugged. He then added, “However, if we are to deliver her, we must do it grandly, right? If the Xia Family isn’t afraid of losing face, the Liu Family can’t afford to lose face either, can they?”

“The Grand Commander speaks with great wisdom.” The leaders of various powers all nodded in agreement.

The Xia Family’s refusal to welcome the bride and not holding a banquet would only embarrass them.

If the Liu Family had to personally deliver the bride, they must do it with grandeur. Otherwise, by sending the bride over, wouldn’t it be inviting ridicule that the Liu Family has no self-respect? Wouldn’t it be inviting ridicule that the Liu Family was trying to marry above their station?

Hearing Feng Wuchen’s reasoning, Liu Qingyang and the others also felt it made sense.

“Big Brother Feng, what do you plan to do?” Liu Qingyang asked curiously.

“What else can we do? Just do as your father said, only we will make it a bit more splendid,” Feng Wuchen shrugged.

“Big Brother Feng, doing this, might the Xia Family dislike me?” Liumeier asked worriedly.

Feng Wuchen smiled slightly and said, “I don’t think so, don’t worry. I will make the decision for you in this matter. Uncle Liu, Elder, you don’t need to worry too much either.”

The Family Head and the elder of the Liu Family both nodded slightly, feeling much relieved in their hearts.

“Uncle Liu, is there anything left to eat? I’m almost starving,” Feng Wuchen turned to the Family Head and asked.

“Yes, yes, yes!” The Family Head of the Liu Family laughed happily, Feng Wuchen’s presence was definitely an honor for the Liu Family.

The Family Head warmly hosted the many guests, and the banquet continued.

Although Xia Yu’s remarks had made the Liu Family lose face entirely, the leaders of various powers present didn’t say much.

The banquet began, and Feng Wuchen glanced over the crowd, asking, “Qingyang, all the brothers from Sky Pavilion are here; didn’t you invite Duan Henxi and Su Lieyang?”

Liu Qingyang shook his head slightly and said, “No, my father and the senior elder said it’s not a marriage, so there’s no need to make it too grand. I also didn’t mention it to Duan Henxi; he just happened not to be at Sky Pavilion.”

“The Liu family has only invited people from Luan Tian City and the nearby forces,” Zhang Junlan added.

“No wonder the Xia family is so bold, not taking the Liu family seriously. Seems like the Xia family doesn’t realize that the Liu family is not what it used to be,” Feng Wuchen nodded. If Duan Henxi were here, even with ten thousand guts, the Xia family wouldn’t dare to bully like this.

The Xia family was not well-informed about the Liu family and even less so about Liu Qingyang; they only knew that the Liu family was a clan from Yunzhou’s Luan Tian City.

If the Xia family knew about the relationship between Liu Qingyang, the eldest son of the Liu family, and Feng Wuchen, perhaps even the head of the Xia family would have to personally come and seek a marriage alliance!

“Brother Feng, do you really intend to follow my father’s words and send Liumeier to the Xia family?” Liu Qingyang asked, still feeling that it wasn’t appropriate.

“Don’t worry, we’ll talk after we’ve eaten. Xiao Xiao, Qingqing, go ahead and eat,” Feng Wuchen said with a smile, busying himself with eating his meat.

How could Feng Wuchen stand idly by when the Xia family was looking down on the Liu family so contemptuously?

After they had eaten their fill, Feng Wuchen gave Liu Qingyang and the others a series of orders.

The orders Feng Wuchen gave left Liu Qingyang and Leng Mucheng thrilled to the core.

…

Imperial Capital, Xia family.

“Dad, Mom, how can you do this? Without a proper marriage and no banquet, can it even be considered a marriage? How much would that wrong Liumeier?” Xia Yun voiced his extreme dissatisfaction in the grand hall of the Xia family.

“Humph! Shut your mouth!” the head of the Xia family rebuked, “A mere Liu family dares to aspire to our Xia family’s level? Liumeier is not worthy! If it weren’t for your insistence on marrying her, I would never allow her to take even half a step into the Xia family!”

“Yun’er, you’re not young anymore, how do you still not understand? The granddaughter of the senior elder of the insignificant Liu family, is she worthy of you?” Lady Xia also chided.

Clearly, they didn’t take the Liu family seriously at all, looking down on them from the bottom of their hearts.

“I don’t care, I just like Liumeier!” Xia Yun insisted, “If you won’t welcome her, I’ll go myself!”

“You dare!” the Xia family head bellowed, a terrible aura bursting forth, immediately silencing Xia Yun.

The Xia family head shouted furiously, “Marrying Liumeier is already a disgrace to our Xia family; do you want to shame us even further?”

“You feel it’s a disgrace, I don’t!” Xia Yun snapped back.

“You!” The Xia family head became furious, his face darkening as he thundered, “Rascal! Would you believe that I might break your legs?”

“Yun’er, how can you talk to your father like that?” Lady Xia scolded.

“Dad, Mom, I don’t care whether you look down on the Liu family or not; I only like Liumeier, and I won’t let her be wronged!” Xia Yun, suppressing his fright, exclaimed, then ran out of the grand hall.

“This is outrageous!” The Xia family head was fuming with rage, grinding his teeth as he said, “This damn boy is getting out of line! He’s going to be the death of me!”

“Ah, but Liumeier is not so bad. Even though the Liu family is a minor clan, as long as Yun’er likes her, that’s all that matters,” Lady Xia sighed.

“Husband, even if we don’t welcome her, we should at least hold a banquet and invite some people, right? Otherwise, what will we say when others ask about it in the future?” Lady Xia proposed.

After a moment’s contemplation with a troubled expression, the Xia family head said, “Fine, fine. We’ll invite the Bai family, Ni family, and some other powerful forces; let’s leave out the royal family. I cannot afford to lose that much face.”
