Chapter 58: Chapter 058: Two Elders Become Disciples

“Master Feng, about before… I offended you greatly; I hope Master Feng can forgive me. Please don’t hold it against me alone; I will do whatever you ask,” Leng Mucheng hastily whispered to Feng Wuchen after all the soldiers had left.

“Really, anything?” Feng Wuchen asked with a cold smile.

Seeing Feng Wuchen’s malicious gaze, Leng Mucheng broke out in a cold sweat, but still nodded firmly, “Anything.”

“One month from now, you will leave this place with me and forever become my subordinate. I’ve already discussed this with the Great General, and I want to take ten people with me. The Great General has agreed,” Feng Wuchen said with a playful cold smile.

“What? Leave?” Leng Mucheng looked at Feng Wuchen, utterly astonished.

“If you don’t want to, forget it! I am someone who holds grudges,” Feng Wuchen said nonchalantly, shrugging his shoulders.

...

“You!” Leng Mucheng was so angry that he felt like his lungs were about to explode, but he dared not lash out.

Joining the Black Flag Army and the Sky Shadow Cavalry was something countless people in the Empire dreamed of, just like being admitted to academies and becoming disciples of the Tianyun Sect.

Now that Feng Wuchen was asking him to leave in a month, wasn’t that ruining his bright future?

“If you want to target me, just come at me; I won’t give up even if it kills me!” Leng Mucheng muttered under his breath. Seeing that he was close to joining the Sky Shadow Cavalry, he would not give up easily.

After the soldiers dispersed, the expressions of Ye Cangqiong and the other generals remained shocked.

The Black Flag Army, forged by them personally, was a force whose strength they knew better than anyone else, yet now, in front of Feng Wuchen, they seemed unable to withstand a single blow, how could they not be shocked?

But as shocking as it might be, what puzzled Ye Cangqiong was where Feng Wuchen found the time to cultivate?

Could it be possible to practice cultivation while also studying Alchemy and Artifact Refining?

That was absolutely impossible!

After all the soldiers left, Ye Cangqiong finally approached and said, “Who would have thought that Master Feng is actually the third young master of the Feng family? The Empire really has some fate with the Feng family. Not long ago, I sent people to the Feng family for the recipe of the Solidifying Qi Mixture, and your father generously gave it to the Empire.

“Is that so.” Feng Wuchen nodded.

“I must say, the effects of the Solidifying Qi Mixture are exceptionally strong. The soldiers in the Qi Refining Realm have seen a rapid increase in their cultivation. For the Empire, the Solidifying Qi Mixture is very important,” Ye Cangqiong said, growing more excited as he spoke.

Feng Wuchen responded indifferently, “It’s only right to contribute to the Empire; when the Empire is strong, it can better protect its people.”

These words from Feng Wuchen pleased Ye Cangqiong greatly.

“Master Feng, this way please. The State Preceptor and his seniors have already brought the materials for Artifact Refining,” Ye Cangqiong said with a cordial smile, leading Feng Wuchen forward.

The State Preceptor of the Empire was also the Empire’s strongest Fifth Grade Alchemist, Yang Tianxian, and the senior gentleman was the Empire’s Fourth Rank Artifact Refiner, Situ Zhentian.

Both men held high positions of power in the Empire and were highly regarded, with a status that was even higher than Ye Cangqiong’s.

Ye Cangqiong brought Feng Wuchen to the Elegant Pavilion near the military camp, which was where he normally rested and cultivated.

Yang Tianxian and Situ Zhentian were already waiting inside the Elegant Pavilion.

The fact that these two significant figures of the Empire had taken the trouble to come showed the attention and respect they held for Feng Wuchen.

“State Preceptor, Your Highness, this is Master Feng!” Upon entering the Elegant Pavilion, Ye Cangqiong hurriedly introduced him with respect.

“I am Yang Tianxian, and this is Situ Zhentian. We have heard much about Master Feng!” The two elders quickly stood up and respectfully bowed to Feng Wuchen, their profound eyes filled with a trace of shock.

The two elders were dressed in white damask robes, their hair and beards all white, appearing aged, but their brows exuded the aura of strong individuals, not to be underestimated, and they even had an air of immortal grace about them.

Although they had heard of Feng Wuchen’s reputation and knew Master Feng was a young man, they were still shocked to see his youth with their own eyes.

Ye Cangqiong, standing at the side, was somewhat stunned to see the two elders treating Feng Wuchen with such respect.

They were giants of the Empire; by rights of generation, strength, and status, they should have been above Feng Wuchen and had no need to be so respectful.

The behavior of the two elders made Ye Cangqiong realize that he had underestimated the terror of a Fifth Grade Artifact Refiner capable of Thought-Forming Instrumentation!

“There is no need for such courtesy, sirs,” said Feng Wuchen with a calm smile, showing no sign of nervousness or disarray in meeting the two giants of the Empire.

“Master Feng, I have brought all the materials for Artifact Refining. There’s plenty of warm jade, Demon Cores, Xuan iron… but meteoric iron is extremely rare, and I only have seven pieces,” Situ Zhentian respectfully said. The materials for Artifact Refining had already been brought into the Elegant Pavilion and were quite numerous.

The entire Empire only had seven pieces, which shows how rare and precious meteoric iron is.

Although Situ Zhentian was a Fourth Rank Artifact Refiner, he found it very difficult to refine Spiritual Artifacts. Despite being in the Empire for so many years, he had only managed to create two Lower Grade Spiritual Artifacts and even top-grade treasures were not plentiful.

Therefore, he couldn’t help but be respectful towards a Fifth Grade Artifact Refiner capable of Thought-Forming Instrumentation.

Feng Wuchen nodded and said, “I thank you for your efforts, Senior Situ. I will keep the two best pieces of meteoric iron for myself, and with the remaining five, I will help you refine ten Spiritual Artifacts.”

Having said this, Feng Wuchen did not wait for their agreement; he simply took the two best quality pieces of meteoric iron and stored them in his Storage Ring.

Even though Situ Zhentian and the others were pained, they dared not say anything, for they would not dare to offend Feng Wuchen.

Feng Wuchen activated the power of the Dragon God, unleashing a ferocious aura. Then, with a wave of his hand, a piece of warm jade, a demon core, some meteoric metal, and other auxiliary materials flew towards him through the air.

“Boom!”

His palm curled into a claw, and with a muffled sound, “boom,” a wisp of azure flame ignited in the center of his hand. With a flick of his wrist, the azure flame instantly enveloped the artifact materials flying towards him.

Feng Wuchen’s hands moved at breakneck speed, forming complex and mysterious seals. The various materials rotated around the meteoric iron, engulfed by the wildly burning azure flame.

The miraculous and mysterious techniques were beyond the comprehension of the two venerable ones, but they were deeply captivated.

Feng Wuchen did not even need a refinement furnace to craft artifacts, a fact that left them utterly astounded.

Only by seeing with their own eyes could they understand the formidable divine skills of Master Feng; Thought-Forming Instrumentation was by no means a false claim!

As the meteoric iron melted into molten metal and other materials integrated into it, a powerful aura began to emanate. Feng Wuchen, with his will, shaped the molten metal into two long spears.

Thought-Forming Instrumentation!

The speed of artifact creation was incredibly fast. Such divine skills left both elders and Ye Cangqiong dumbstruck, frozen stiff, witnessing Thought-Forming Instrumentation that was truly terrifying!

They could not even begin to imagine the horrific level of mastery Feng Wuchen had achieved in the realm of artifact crafting!

After the long spears were forged and had cooled down, a formidable presence spread from both spears, each identified as a Lower Grade Spiritual Artifact!

Thought-Forming Instrumentation had created not one, but two items!

What kind of terrifying divine skill was this? What kind of terrifying realm of artifact creation?

“Master Feng is truly a lofty figure! Please, Master Feng, take me as your disciple!” Situ Zhentian promptly knelt down, his heart full of shock and admiration, earnestly desiring to take Feng Wuchen as his master.

Situ Zhentian’s sudden kneeling startled Feng Wuchen greatly, but what astonished him even more was that Situ Zhentian wanted to take him as his master!

“If you truly wish to take me as your master, then I am willing to accept you as my disciple,” Feng Wuchen said calmly after his initial surprise.

“Disciple is absolutely sincere and only wishes to follow Master to learn artifact crafting!” Situ Zhentian said respectfully.

“Rise,” said Feng Wuchen with a slight utterance.

“Thank you, Master!” Situ Zhentian was elated beyond measure.

Ye Cangqiong nearly fainted; the Empire’s number one Artifact Refiner actually wanted to take Feng Wuchen as his master!

“Is this the divine skill of Thought-Forming Instrumentation? Master Feng truly possesses divine skills!” Yang Tianxian exclaimed in amazement, almost popping his eyes out.

“State Preceptor, Master Feng is none other than the Feng family’s Third Young Master Feng Wuchen!” Ye Cangqiong quickly spoke up.

“Oh? The Feng family’s Third Young Master Feng Wuchen?” Yang Tianxian was shocked once more, never having imagined that Master Feng was actually the Feng family’s Third Young Master!

Looking towards the immensely shocked Yang Tianxian, Feng Wuchen smiled lightly and said, “Indeed.”

“Master, I’ve heard that you are also quite skilled in alchemy, capable of detecting flaws from the scent of an elixir. Could you help the State Preceptor?” Situ Zhentian asked, having a deep relationship with the other elder, naturally hoping that Yang Tianxian’s alchemy realm could be elevated to the next level.

Yang Tianxian, who couldn’t discern the inadequacies of an elixir simply from its scent, quickly presented a Fifth Grade elixir to Feng Wuchen, saying respectfully, “Please enlighten me, Master Feng.”

Feng Wuchen took the elixir, glanced at it briefly, smelled its fragrance, and said, “Purple Heart Barrier-Breaking Pill, a Fifth Grade elixir that serves to enhance cultivation, suitable for those in the Yuandan Realm. A potent Purple Heart Barrier-Breaking Pill can assist someone in the Yuandan Realm in elevating one level of cultivation.”

Yang Tianxian and the others nodded, but held their peace, knowing Feng Wuchen had not finished speaking.

Feng Wuchen continued, “Unfortunately, this Purple Heart Barrier-Breaking Pill is of too low quality; its patterns are fuzzy, and it lacks any luster. The elixir contains many impurities, and at best, it can only help someone in the Yuandan Realm increase their cultivation by thirty percent.”

Hearing this, Yang Tianxian’s face flushed with shame, clearly exposed by Feng Wuchen’s straightforward diagnosis.

Returning the elixir to Yang Tianxian, Feng Wuchen said, “State Preceptor, the low quality of the Fifth Rank elixir you crafted is not only due to a low-grade Alchemy Decision but also relates to your level of understanding of the Purple Heart Barrier-Breaking Pill, the fire poison in your body, and the foremost issue—the proportion of medicinal ingredients. The dosage of Purple Heart Yanluo Leaf in this pill is too high, while the Seven-Leaf Xuanming Grass and Solidifying Yuan Fruit are far too little, plus the ingredients are too young and contain too many impurities. When smelting, the control of the flame was uneven, and during the Solidifying Pill process, you must have been distracted; there’s a faint burnt scent to the elixir, a rudimentary mistake for an alchemist, which results in the poor quality of the pill. Nevertheless, it is already quite an achievement to have crafted it, which suggests that the State Preceptor lacks a complete prescription.”

“Master Feng is truly a divine being. I beg Master Feng to take me as a disciple. I am willing to follow Master Feng in alchemy, even if only as an Alchemy Boy, without regret!” Yang Tianxian said, thoroughly shocked and bowing deeply before promptly kneeling.

After witnessing the terrifying divine skills of Feng Wuchen, Yang Tianxian was completely convinced.

The Empire’s strongest alchemist now wished to take Feng Wuchen as his master! Ye Cangqiong was utterly flabbergasted!

Both elders were giants of the Empire! After witnessing Feng Wuchen’s divine skills, they each sought to become his disciples, not caring in the slightest that they were venerating a youth barely sixteen or seventeen years old!

In the world where the capable are revered, age and status hold no consequence!
