She Came to Heal, Stayed to Conquer

Han Lei frowned, knowing the frivolous words were directed at her. She turned to look, and a scheming young gentleman with a lecherous smile at the corner blocked her path.

This person was none other than Wei Chengchao, the son of the Prime Minister.

Wei Chengchao usually relied on his family’s influence to act high-handedly, committing all sorts of misdeeds.

This time, he was originally going downstairs to use the toilet, but happened to run into the stunning beauty Han Lei. His eyes instantly brightened, and the wicked thoughts in his heart grew wildly like weeds.

”Move aside!”

Han Lei glared coldly at him.

”Oh, little beauty, where are you going? This outfit truly suits you. This young master likes it immensely. How about accompanying me upstairs for a cup of tea?”

As Wei Chengchao spoke, he stepped closer to Han Lei, eyes flickering with greed and desire.

Han Lei’s eyebrows furrowed tighter. She wore the clothes Zhao Zun had just bought for her, a light goose-yellow that made her already lovely face even more radiant.

Unexpectedly, wearing this dress attracted a lecher.

She had seen plenty of shameless scoundrels like this in the modern world.

Han Lei showed no fear on her face, only coldly warning, ”Sir, please behave. I do not know you, nor do I wish to converse with you.”

Wei Chengchao, seeing this, found her rejection entertaining and reached out to touch Han Lei’s face.

”Tsk tsk, this young master has never seen such a beautiful little beauty like you. Let me touch, your little face is tender enough to drip water.”

However, before he could touch her cheek, Han Lei swiftly evaded his grasp.

”I warn you again, move aside!” Han Lei stood straight, her voice colder.

Though her tone was icy, her voice was soft and gentle, making her warning sound charming rather than intimidating, almost adorably fierce.

They stood in the passage between the kitchen and the main hall, and a waiter carrying dishes out, though witnessing Wei Chengchao harassing a woman, dared not offend the Prime Minister’s son.

The waiter quickly dashed past, pretending not to see anything.

”Oh! You warn me? Heh heh...” Wei Chengchao found her adorably fierce warning amusing and became further interested in approaching her. ”Come, let this young master see what you’re using to warn me.”

As he spoke, his vile hand reached toward Han Lei’s chest.

Han Lei burned with anger, no longer able to endure such rude provocation.

She snorted, lifted her skirt, and spun with a beautiful side kick that landed fiercely on Wei Chengchao’s stomach.

”Ah...”

Suddenly, a pig-like scream echoed, Wei Chengchao flew in an arc and landed on the ground after crashing dramatically into a table.

The guests at the table he collided with screamed and stood up, backing away.

Surrounding diners paused, amazed at the scene, as the pampered Wei Chengchao clutched his belly, unable to speak, staring incredulously at Han Lei with his squinted eyes.

Hearing the commotion downstairs, Ping Chuan and Xiao Zhengfei stationed at the second-floor private room door leaned over the railing to look down—

My goodness!

They happened to see Han Lei emerging from the passage, raising her foot to stomp fiercely on a man’s face. Though Miss Han seemed unharmed, they looked at each other and quickly went inside to report to the Prince.

Downstairs, the shopkeeper who also heard the noise hurried over, seeing Mr. Wei having been beaten, he approached with a troubled face to stop it.

”Oh, stop! How can you be so bold, young lady? He’s Mr. Wei!”

The Prime Minister’s son being beaten at Tengyun Building—how would Tengyun Building continue its business?

Though Tengyun Building had backing from one of the four major families, the Wei Family was the foremost of the four! Coupled with Wei’s special status as Prime Minister, who among the other families dared to provoke?

Mr. Wei always came to Tengyun Building on credit, and the account book had accumulated quite a stack, yet the owner had not ordered collection from the Wei Family. Doesn’t that indicate something?

Wei Chengchao lay on the ground, initially not many saw his face. But with the shopkeeper’s exclamation, surrounding diners knew Mr. Wei had been beaten and began pointing and discussing.

”Good heavens, who is this girl? Does she really dare to hit Mr. Wei?”

”This girl looks quite pretty, never seen before, likely not from the Capital City, right?”

”Definitely not from Capital, or how could she dare hit Mr. Wei?”

”I think he deserves it, always harassing respectable women.”

”Shh, keep it down.”

”Serves him right! Committing all sorts of misdeeds, he’ll have retribution sooner or later.”

”Hehe, isn’t he facing retribution now?”

”Ah, let’s not meddle, let’s eat.”

Diners exchanged words, all with a spectator’s mentality.

But the shopkeeper was near tears, rushing forward to block Han Lei with one hand while helping Wei Chengchao up with the other.

Wei Chengchao stood up in pain, roughly shaking off the shopkeeper’s hand.

”You...how dare you lay a hand on me?”

Never harmed before, Wei Chengchao was furious and humiliated. He wiped his disheveled hair and charged at Han Lei, intending to ram her with his slick head.

But how could Han Lei give him the chance?

She dodged his attack with ease and was about to kick him from behind, when suddenly a silhouette descended from above, landing in front of Wei Chengchao.

”Boom!”

”Ah!”

Wei Chengchao screamed, his body thrown backward by a powerful force.

His head throbbed, and looking up, he realized he had collided with a solidly built man.

”Who are you? Get lost. This isn’t your concern,” Wei Chengchao fumed.

Intent on raging at this man after rising, he suddenly saw two more men leap down from the second floor, standing left and right behind the initial man.

These two were Zhao Zun’s trusted aides, Ping Chuan and Xiao Zhengfei. Once landed, they swiftly drew swords from their waists, their tips pointed straight at Wei Chengchao.

Seeing the man had backup, Wei Chengchao, formerly arrogant, instantly wilted like frostbitten eggplant. Covering his aching head, he loudly wailed for help.

”Someone, help! Where is everyone? This young master has been hit!”

What bad luck had befallen him today? Was everyone daring to bully him? He must call people over to teach these insolent folks a lesson.

Unfortunately, having come downstairs merely to use the toilet, he hadn’t brought attendants. They remained serving in the third-floor private rooms.

Part of Tengyun Building’s business success was due to its meticulous service to guests.

Some esteemed customers sat in private rooms not just for dining but for discussing significant or perhaps secret matters.

To avoid disturbing such discussions, Tengyun Building’s private rooms were built with double-layered partitions for maximum soundproofing of the era.

Thus, while downstairs was in turmoil, the upstairs guests in private rooms remained unaffected. Even if Wei Chengchao screamed his lungs out, his cronies upstairs couldn’t hear him.

Zhao Zun ignored his childish cries, instead turning to Han Lei.

”Girl, are you okay?”

Han Lei looked up at Zhao Zun, pointing at Wei Chengchao, who was loudly calling for help, exposing his misconduct before everyone.

”It was him, he harassed me.”
