Social Animals? My Brother is a Female Empress in the Underworld and Earns 10 Billion a Month!

75: A chaotic scene caused by milk stainsShang Wan Ning set down the red wine glass in her hand, her brow arching slightly as her lazy gaze drifted toward Lin Ran beside her.

”Chief Assistant Lin, get me a glass of whole milk, thirty percent sugar.” Her voice carried a hint of tipsiness, yet remained elegant and alluring.

”Yes!” Lin Ran immediately agreed, turning to head for the kitchenette to obediently prepare the milk for her BOSS.

A minute later, Lin Ran returned carrying a steaming glass of milk, carefully handing it to the BOSS.

As she handed over the glass, she couldn’t help but steal a glance at Shang Wan Ning sitting on the sofa.

This glance made her heart flutter. Observing from such a close distance, she discovered the Empress’s pupils weren’t purely black, but a midnight brown—deep, mysterious, and so pure they lacked even a single impurity.

[I wonder if the BOSS’s pupils would be tinged with shyness when she’s feeling amorous?] Lin Ran thought to herself, a wave of restlessness surging in her heart.

At the same time, she lowered her eyes. At the slightly open neckline, a collarbone and fragrant shoulder were revealed; the skin was like snow, delicate as silk, and adorned with little red plum blossoms.

[Hmph! This must be the work of that vixen Secretary-General!]

Just as she was immersed in her own thoughts, she suddenly felt a sharp gaze fall upon her.

She jerked her head up and found Shang Wan Ning staring at her, a hint of teasing in her eyes.

”Does it look good?” Shang Wan Ning smoothed her hair, asking with a faint smile.

”It... it looks good!” Lin Ran’s face instantly turned bright red, so embarrassed she wished she could find a hole in the ground to crawl into.

She hadn’t expected her small movements to be noticed by the BOSS, leaving her momentarily at a loss.

”If you want to look, then look openly. Does Chief Assistant Lin think she can escape this Empress’s Divine Sense?”

”I can’t!” Lin ’Gay-Vibes’ Ran shook her head instinctively.

Shang Wan Ning’s beautiful eyes curved as a flicker of amusement flashed through them. She continued, ”Actually, looking is useless anyway; it’s not yours.”

Her tone carried a bit of banter, as if she had seen right through Lin Ran’s little scheme.

With a ”puchi” sound, a knife stabbed into Chief Assistant Lin’s heart. She looked at the BOSS resentfully and murmured, ”BOSS! You’re drunk!”

Shang Wan Ning’s fingertips rested on the glass. Through the glass’s refraction, they appeared ”slender and white,” incredibly beautiful.

”Drunk? Am I drunk?”

”Where have you ever seen a Deity get drunk?”

Serving the Empress who was currently in a tsundere mood, Lin Ran pursed her lips, indicating she didn’t dare answer.

Seeing that Lin Ran didn’t respond, Shang Wan Ning didn’t make a fool of herself. Watching the images being transmitted in real-time by You Xiaoqian, she took a big gulp of milk, her cheeks puffing out contentedly.

In the next second, however, joy turned to sorrow! She choked, and a mouthful of milk spilled onto her suit pants.

[”Spirit-Devouring Flower”! Are people in the Buddhist Sects these days all of this temperament? So black-bellied, it’s a real eye-opener!]

Lin Ran hastily pulled a tissue from the table and knelt on the floor to wipe the milk stains off the BOSS’s pants.

Shang Wan Ning was stunned. She said irritably, ”Chief Assistant Lin, don’t you think this posture is a bit strange?”

”Ah?”

Lin Ran lightly bit her red lip, her face full of confusion, like a lamb lost in a thick fog.

”But I saw my colleague’s daughter spit up milk once, and that’s how she wiped it!”

”Trying my best not to leave a mark.”

Shang Wan Ning blinked playfully. ”I could have handled it with a single Cleaning Spell.”

Hearing this, Lin Ran stopped what she was doing and raised her head to look up at Shang Wan Ning. A fawning smile appeared on her face, looking very much like a puppy wagging its tail for pity. ”BOSS! This Subordinate only recently advanced to the First Rank; my spells aren’t proficient yet.”

Shang Wan Ning arched an eyebrow at Lin Ran and chuckled, ”Aren’t you going to get up yet?”

”Eh! Right away.”

However, just as Lin Ran started to move, she felt dizzy. It was as if all the strength had been drained from her body, and she swayed.

Seeing this, Shang Wan Ning hurriedly reached out to support her, asking with concern, ”Chief Assistant Lin, is your body that weak? You should nourish yourself more.”

”BOSS... I’m not weak! I just haven’t slept for three days.” Lin Ran forced herself to stand steady, secretly feeling annoyed: ”How did I get dizzy just from crouching for two minutes?”

[Wuwu X﹏X, my crush thinks my body is weak.]

Shang the Skin Flayer suggested somewhat sheepishly, ”How about I give Chief Assistant Lin a day off to catch up on some sleep?”

”No need, BOSS. I’ll just meditate when I go home after work tonight.”

”Can you still hold on?” Shang Wan Ning’s low, slow voice suddenly rang out, carrying an unquestionable authority.

”I can, BOSS!” Lin Ran answered subconsciously.

”Is that so?” Shang Wan Ning stood up and approached Chief Assistant Lin.

The half-meter distance that originally existed between them was instantly compressed until it was as thin as paper.

Shang Wan Ning lowered her head, those vivid red lips like a burning flame, right next to Lin Ran’s earlobe.

Her fingertips, covered in a trace of spiritual energy, wiped away the foundation on Lin Ran’s face, immediately revealing a patch of dark circles under her eyes.

”Next time, change your brand of foundation. Brand U is simply incompatible with your skin!”

”Of course, after breaking through to the Second Rank, whether you wear makeup or not will likely be insignificant.”

Lin Ran’s eyes flickered, her eyelids drooping slightly. ”The Brand U one was something this Subordinate won in a lucky draw when buying a refrigerator.”

A smile instantly bloomed on Shang Wan Ning’s face, like a clear spring washing over colored glass, as she lightly tilted up the Chief Assistant’s chin.

”A girl should be more refined. Your features are so beautiful; it would be a pity if you lived so unrefinedly.”

”Next time, you can moisturize in the morning first... after your face is dry (gently dampen it with your hands) start applying foundation, and then spray a mist once you’re done...”

With her chin held by the BOSS, Lin Ran didn’t dare move at all, listening intently to the BOSS’s makeup secrets.

With a ”clack,” Ling Qi, having finished her meeting, turned the doorknob and opened the door to see the intimate scene of Shang Wan Ning and Lin Ran.

She suddenly felt as if a vast green grassland had appeared over her head. ”BOSS! What are you two doing?”

”We’re talking about foundation!” Shang Wan Ning said without changing her expression.

”Do you need to be this close to talk about foundation?” Ling Qi looked at them suspiciously.

”It’s more convenient to talk when we’re closer,” Lin Ran explained awkwardly.

”Oh~ is that so? Chief~ Assistant~ Lin!” Ling Qi dragged out the syllables meaningfully.

”Are the meeting minutes organized?” Shang Wan Ning shifted the topic at the right time.

”They’re ready, they’re all here.” Ling Qi handed the documents in her hand to Shang Wan Ning, giving her a look that said ’good luck tonight.’

The hand Shang Wan Ning used to take the document bag trembled slightly.

[It’s over, don’t even think about it tonight... To think I’m the protagonist of this drama scene myself!!!]

Shang Wan Ning returned to the sofa and sat down, pretending to look through the meeting minutes as if nothing had happened.

Meanwhile, Lin Ran’s heart couldn’t help but speed up.

”Um... BOSS, this Subordinate will go back to work now,” Lin Ran said softly.

”Mm.” Shang Wan Ning looked up, a trace of indiscernible meaning flashing in her eyes. ”Remember the makeup techniques I told you.”

Lin Ran nodded and fled the office as if her life depended on it. Leaning against the corridor wall, she reached out to rub her chin and squeezed her legs together.

[The BOSS’s fingertips were so hot! I can’t take it, my legs are so weak!]
