Social Animals? My Brother is a Female Empress in the Underworld and Earns 10 Billion a Month!

69: Six-Tailed Fox - Secretary GeneralIn the room’s bathroom, scalding hot water poured down from above, forming curtains of water.

Shang Wan Ning tilted her head back slightly, eyes closed, feeling the hot stream wash over her body.

She reached out a hand to brace herself against the smooth wall. As the water flowed, she felt her physical exhaustion slowly dissipate.

Strangely, the heavy weariness deep inside didn’t lighten at all, and the spiritual power in her body remained empty, lacking any sense of fulfillment.

“Ling Qi, are you actually a fox? To think you’d know a trick like ‘absorbing Yin to supplement Yin’?”

Shang Wan Ning frowned and muttered with some dissatisfaction, while reaching out to turn off the splashing shower.

Then, she picked up a dry, soft towel nearby and began to wipe the wet droplets off her body.

Just then, Ling Qi’s cold body quietly pressed against Shang Wan Ning’s smooth and delicate back.

Slender fingers played with strands of hair like spirits, her eyes flashing with a cunning light: “BOSS is indeed exceptionally clever! This servant was indeed a demon fox with six tails in my past life.”

Shang Wan Ning spun around abruptly, staring sharply at Ling Qi. She unceremoniously placed her palm over Ling Qi’s full chest, her tone carrying a hint of teasing.

“In that case, now that you’ve entangled yourself with me and even dare to drain my spiritual power, as the Secretary-General, you certainly have quite the nerve!”

Facing Shang Wan Ning’s questioning, Ling Qi didn’t show the slightest fear. She laughed softly: “Who can be blamed for this? It was BOSS who chose this Subordinate out of so many Female Ghost Officers.”

“Since you’ve already fallen into This servant’s hands, then naturally a small price must be paid~”

“A small price? My Fourth-rank spiritual power is completely drained, not a drop left!” In Shang Wan Ning’s cool voice, there was a faint, unavoidable trace of distress.

[Judging by this situation, I’m afraid I won’t even be able to meet a single Subordinate between today and tomorrow.]

On the other side, Ling Qi smiled, pursed her lips, and reached out to tuck a few stray hairs behind her ear. Then, she asked softly: “Has BOSS already heard the stories You Yu told about this Subordinate’s past?”

Shang Wan Ning nodded slightly in affirmation and replied: “Mhm!”

Ling Qi immediately followed up: “Then, when did you find out about this?”

Shang Wan Ning was silent for a moment: “Seven days ago.”

Ling Qi nodded as if realizing something, murmuring to herself: “So that’s how it is... Since that day, Wanling’s attitude toward me has indeed become much colder.”

Thinking of this, Ling Qi suddenly hugged Shang Wan Ning tightly and, without hesitation, opened her mouth and bit hard on Shang Wan Ning’s fair collarbone.

After a long while, Ling Qi released her arms and suddenly looked up at the ceiling. Her eyes were slightly red, and a few clear tears gradually seeped from the corners of her eyes.

“Don’t believe anything that hateful Former stinky Taoist You Yu says! Back then, the two of us were like fire and water, irreconcilable enemies who couldn’t wait to kill each other.”

Facing Ling Qi’s emotional state, Shang Wan Ning simply used her fingertip to wipe away the tears sliding down her cheek.

“I didn’t blindly believe what he said. If I had, how would you still be by my side today?”

But Ling Qi didn’t seem to let it go, instead continuing indignantly.

“Hmph! This servant used to be a lewd fox, specifically searching everywhere for those handsome... to absorb their Pure Yang energy!” After saying this, she gave Shang Wan Ning a coquettish glare.

Shang Wan Ning’s expression didn’t change upon hearing this; instead, she used her fingertips to tilt Ling Qi’s chin, a playful glint in her eyes.

“Heh! Pure Yang energy? With your constitution from your past life, do you think I wouldn’t know? If you dared to ‘absorb Yang to supplement Yin’, I’m afraid your fox fur would be blown to pieces the next second.”

“I have been the Empress for half a year; I naturally know the remaining techniques in your ghost body better than anyone.”

“People in the world have always had many prejudices against the demon fox clan, often repeating what others say and believing one-sided stories. Even You Yu is no exception.” At this point, Shang Wan Ning stretched her body and naturally leaned into Ling Qi’s embrace.

She brought her lips close to Ling Qi’s ear and whispered: “If you hadn’t been lucky enough to meet me, you lonely thousand-year-old single fox would probably never escape the fate of being a Single dog!”

“True!”

...Ling Qi looked up, meeting the eyes of the high-and-mighty BOSS. “Wanling, let me carry you out like this, okay?”

Shang Wan Ning nodded gently, making a soft nasal sound: “Mhm!”

When they walked out of the bathroom together, they weren’t wearing a stitch of clothing... and the originally neat and orderly lounge was now a mess, with clothes discarded haphazardly all over the floor.

These clothes stretched from the room all the way to the wet office chair outside, which had been soaked by tea.

Shang Wan Ning collapsed onto the spacious bed as if all her strength had been drained, exhausted.

She opened her eyes slightly, her gaze blurred and empty, as if she had lost focus, and her breathing became soft and slow.

Her whole person looked like a soul-less ragdoll, just quietly spacing out.

Suddenly, Shang Wan Ning came to her senses and said through gritted teeth: “Ling Qi! You villain, you deliberately drained all my spiritual power. Are you doing this on purpose so I can’t even get out of bed!” After saying that, she weakly tilted her head to the side and lay on the bed, motionless.

A pair of protruding scapulae were faintly visible, catching the eye; the beautiful lines of her back extended down to her waistline, and her small waist looked very thin, easily grasped in one hand.

Ling Qi stood aside, silently watching this portrait of a person for a long time before slowly coming back to her senses.

She reached out and touched the BOSS’s slightly bruised collarbone, asking with concern: “Does it hurt? BOSS.”

Shang Wan Ning rolled her eyes significantly and replied weakly: “Hmph, it doesn’t hurt much, but this waist of mine is incredibly sore; I can hardly straighten it.” After speaking, she couldn’t help but wiggle her body a few times, trying to relieve the discomfort in her waist.

Seeing this, Ling Qi couldn’t help but give a bitter smile. While saying words of apology, she carefully began to massage Shang Wan Ning’s waist with both hands.

“I’m sorry, BOSS. It’s all my fault. I was too engrossed just now and completely lost track of time, causing you to suffer.”

With Ling Qi’s gentle yet firm kneading, Shang Wan Ning gradually relaxed, and the expression on her face slowly softened.
