Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 1213: Chapter 1185: Deep Bond Between Mother and Daughter Moves the Heart

Qian couldn’t afford to think too much right now. She was pushed off this relatively safe passage and happened to see a bloodied person being trampled at the bottom of the steps. Her stomach churned, and she hurriedly ran to the closest counter, where the clerks were all stunned. Faced with such a sudden incident, no one knew what to do.

”Let me sit for a while,” Qian’s legs buckled as she entered the counter and sat down.

Terrified.

Actually, she had chosen the wisest place because after the escalator’s reverse trample started, everyone ran over there to rescue, and there were too many people. If Qian had run even a bit slower, she would surely have been squished.

That instant when she came down and saw the scene left Qian with lingering fear. If Mu Xiaofeng hadn’t appeared out of nowhere, she might have been just like those people, crushed to the point of vomiting blood.

Then what about her child...

Qian touched her stomach, now filled with fear and anxiety.

Outside, voices were chaotic, screams, cries of pain, rescue attempts, crying—all kinds of noises mixed together, and the escalator had stopped. But a glance revealed at least several injured; the extent of their injuries was unknown.

”It’s too tragic...” The clerk was scared and couldn’t help mumbling. They were at the luxury goods counter, bound by rules to not leave their posts; otherwise, they would have run over to check on things.

”Sis, are you alright? You’re really lucky. It would have been too terrifying if no one had pulled you out.” The clerk said to Qian.

People!

Qian’s brain suddenly registered—Mu Xiaofeng!

She struggled to stand despite her shaky legs, and looked over there again, but the crowd surged, nowhere was Mu Xiaofeng’s figure in sight.

Where did she come from, where did she run to, how did she find herself to rescue her—all these Qian knew nothing about.

The only thing she knew was that without Mu Xiaofeng, let alone her child, even she herself would likely have met a grim fate.

After experiencing such a big accident, Qian’s legs were weak, her heart pounding wildly, and there were too many people upfront, making it impossible to see who was who. Just then, Qian heard a loud voice emerge from the noisy crowd.

”Daughter! My daughter!!!”

The advantage of having a loud voice is that it can be heard no matter how noisy it gets. Qian’s mom had a naturally loud voice, but now in her anxious state, it was even louder; she clearly remembered seeing her daughter come down from the second floor just a moment ago!

Qian’s mom caught a glimpse of her as she stepped off the escalator and then looked down to pick a gold lock for her grandson. A few seconds later, screams were heard upfront, and she ran over like she had lost her soul, thinking only of Qian.

Fugui was terrified too. Accompanying Qian’s mom and Qian out shopping, he never imagined they’d encounter such a terrifying incident!

He ran over with them.

By now, the mall was in utter chaos. Qian’s mom was pale with fear, and she squeezed through the crowd, trying to push forward.

Qian hurriedly got up from behind the counter, ”Mom, I’m here!”

The mother and daughter were only a few meters apart, but Qian’s voice was too faint and drowned in the cacophony. She watched as her mother charged forward like a madwoman, uncaring about being bumped, and saw that her mother’s face was covered with tears of terror.

”Qian’er, Qian’er!” Qian’s mom charged forward, but the front was completely impenetrable with onlookers and rescuers and all sorts of people squeezed together. She worried to death, crying out in panic.

”Everyone make way! My daughter is in there, my daughter! Qian’er, mom is here!”

At this moment, a mother’s only concern is her child’s safety, and it was this expression on Qian’s mom’s face that etched itself into Qian’s memory forever, leaving a foreshadowing for her ultimate decision, but that’s another story.

Watching her mom charge forward like a madwoman, Qian’s nose tingled, and tears fell.

No matter how much she disliked her mom’s nagging, this moment of her mother’s concern moved her deeply. Qian burst out of the counter, squeezing to the front to tug at her mom’s clothes.

By now, Qian’s mom had entered a frenzy. Seeing the front so congested, unable to pass, her thoughts were filled with her daughter. Feeling someone tugging her from behind, she didn’t look back and kept crying out, ”Don’t squeeze! My daughter is in there! If she gets hurt, I won’t want to live either!”

”Mom, I’m here, I’m fine!”

When Qian was pulled down by Mu Xiaofeng, Qian’s mom had already seen the incident unfold and rushed over maniacally. Due to the counter blocking the view, she hadn’t seen Qian come down from another direction and thought she was still inside.

Only after hearing Qian’s voice did she turn her head, and upon seeing Qian standing safely behind her, Qian’s mom didn’t think much else, grabbed Qian’s hand tightly, and moved desperately to the side. Fugui, seeing Qian, was overjoyed and hurriedly protected the mother and daughter out of the crowd to a relatively less populated area. Qian’s mom shakily touched Qian’s face, which was covered in tears.

”Qian’er... Qian’er!”

”I’m here, mom, I’m here.” Qian was also crying, her mom called several times, and she replied many times.

Once she confirmed it was her daughter and that her daughter was unhurt, Qian’s mom finally broke down crying, hugging Qian tightly.

”Daughter! You scared mom to death!”

She had thought for a moment that something had happened to her child, and she didn’t even know what she was doing, relying only on the instinct of motherly love to charge forward. Now seeing her child was safe, her tightly strung nerves finally relaxed.

”I’m okay, mom, I’m okay.” Qian soothed her mom, both comforting her mother and calming herself.

It’s no wonder her mom was so frightened; she herself was also terrified.

The danger occurred in an instant, and she nearly faced peril.

After crying for a while hugging her daughter, Qian’s mom finally settled down, repeatedly confirming Qian was unhurt before she thought to ask.

”How did you get out? Wasn’t it you I saw coming down the stairs?”

”It was me... Mom, wait a moment, I need to make a call.”

Qian took out her phone to notify Xiaoqiang.

She wasn’t quite sure whether it was really Mu Xiaofeng who saved her just now, as it happened so fast and in her extreme panic, she couldn’t be sure if it was an illusion or if Mu Xiaofeng had really escaped; she was still uncertain.

She called Yu Minglang, and was lucky enough to get through.

”Honey, I’ll be home soon, isn’t that a surprise?” Xiaoqiang sounded very happy, seemingly having finished work.

”Hurry back! Your wife nearly didn’t make it!” Qian’s mom was still terrified, shouting anxiously.

”What happened?!” Yu Minglang was immediately tense upon hearing this; he was still in the car and didn’t know what had occurred.

”It’s a long story... I wanted to ask you, where is Mu Xiaofeng right now?”

Xiaoqiang knows many people; he should be able to find out about this matter.

Qian feared frightening him, so she didn’t tell the truth.
