I Became a Witch and Started an Industrial Revolution

Speaking of it, Mitia did not think highly of the reincarnated emperor of the Britian Empire. Likewise, apart from the Witch Race, the other races were actually not optimistic about her either.

To put it further, as time passed and they came to understand the Seris Alliance more and more deeply, they even wanted her dead even more.

The reasoning was very simple. A ruler’s governing philosophy combined with the length of the ruler’s lifespan could basically outline the general future direction of a country.

That reincarnated emperor’s set of Greater-Humanism alone would already require him to expend tremendous effort just to unify the Human Race. Humans had short lifespans, yet precisely because of that pressure of lifespan, their upper limits and ways of thinking were almost impossible to define.

Their strange and peculiar demands were extremely hard to understand and satisfy. Usually, only short-term policies that benefited multiple parties—or even only one party—policies that were conducive to regime stability could be adopted. As for long-term planning, that was simply not possible.

Thus, humans could produce a peak empire within a short period of time, yet found it very difficult to maintain it for more than three hundred years.

Moreover, as the reincarnated emperor stepped onto the stage of ruling the world, the further he went, the greater the resistance he would face.

No race wanted to be expelled from its own ancestral lands and live a life of displacement and wandering. Once the Britian Empire’s influence penetrated into other non-human nations, what they would encounter were basically desperate enemies fighting them to the death.

Usually, human lifespans were not very long. A Saint could live for a thousand years. If handled properly, long-lived races could secretly intervene during key battles, continuously consuming his time and the empire’s accumulated foundations. Simply enduring past the era that belonged to him was relatively easy for other long-lived races.

But Mitia’s governing theory combined with her Witch half-god–level lifespan meant that if she ultimately won, this would no longer be a matter of one or two so-called eras.

She had plenty of time to slowly sort out all kinds of internal contradictions. After all, whether ordinary long-lived races could even outlive her was still up for debate—so what was there to talk about regarding surviving her era?

Compared to the reincarnated emperor of the Human Race who had not yet fully developed, the Divine Emperor of the subcontinent was obviously a far greater threat no matter how one looked at it.

Kings usually possessed extremely strong purposefulness and determination.

Human origin, no pressure of lifespan, different governing philosophies from the reincarnated emperor yet ultimately converging toward the same final goal—anyone could tell that between the two, neither could be allowed to rise.

They could accept a unified human super-empire.

After all, humans would die. Successors might not share the same governing philosophy as their predecessors. Wasn’t the current Britian already a multi-racial cohabiting empire?

But they could not accept a super-composite entity formed by multiple races layered together under the leadership of a long-lived race.

Mitia vaguely sensed this point when she realized that, aside from the Witch Race having made contact with her, there was absolutely no trace of high-end combat power from other races.

There was a huge difference in mindset between the abandoned remnants on the subcontinent and those of the same race living under the protection of their race on the main continent.

The former struggled even to survive. In the past, this had been a land abandoned by the gods, and it was even more impossible for their own race to come and save them. They understood even more clearly the importance of unity and a stable environment for survival.

In order to survive, they discarded most traditions and took the continuation of life as their primary goal. The fact that Beastfolk and Dwarves would even worship the human Goddess of Light made that obvious.

They were more able to accept Mitia’s ideas and philosophy—if you needed something, then create it yourself. No one would help you. If you needed a god, then creating a god was not impossible either!

Meanwhile, the races of the main continent all had their own spheres of influence, with a core race and the protection of high-end combat power.

For them, questions of stance were very easy to distinguish. Just look at bloodline. As long as the bloodline was the same, they were one of their own. Anyone else was an outsider. They did not necessarily take Mitia’s set of ideas seriously.

Therefore, after the subcontinent was mostly unified, she did not take advantage of naval victories to directly land on the main continent. Instead, she chose to fight in exchange for trade access and similar rights.

She had reason to suspect that if she had landed back then, she would have been jointly driven back into the sea by surrounding countries on the very first day. It was better to behave obediently and lie low on the subcontinent.

Ideological output was her trump card, yet she had never fully activated the propaganda machinery.

After all, given the combat power level of this magic world, blindly exporting ideology without matching combat power would, aside from causing bloodshed and sacrifices and increasing the vigilance of other races, bring no additional benefits that she could see.

Good things should be used at critical moments, not waved around carelessly in one’s hands to scare people. The more ostentatious it was, the more it would be studied, and it might instead lose the effect it was supposed to have.

Especially when she herself was not even sure whether this thing would be effective, she needed to be even more cautious.

However, if the broad and open road could not be taken, she could still walk the narrow plank bridge~

The Seris Alliance had never openly expanded its influence outward. Even the Holy Light Church only operated on the subcontinent.

But Mitia made use of the imminent war between Dmitria and the Tsarist Nation of Roshek. While marketing her weapons, she also signed an exchange student program with the Tsarist Nation of Roshek.

The first batch of exchange students was publicly set at 200 people.

When distributed, each university received roughly around ten slots, going to the Tsarist Nation for one to two years of cross-national study.

On the Tsarist side, they could formally send 400 young people over. Aside from being young in age, the Alliance had no additional requirements.

That was to say, whether they were enrolled students, young officers in the military, or even young believers from their own church, all were acceptable!

People would travel to the Tsarist Nation aboard a cruiser fleet transporting wheeled armored vehicles and light tanks for escort. Then the fleet would bring back the talents selected by the Tsarist Nation to the Alliance.

For these two hundred people, Mitia did not tamper with anything. They were genuine top graduates from Alliance universities.

If she did not even have confidence in this group of children who had grown up alongside the Alliance since birth, then she might as well switch early to becoming a military-industrial consortium and sell local specialties to muddle through life!

“Beauty~ where are you~”

“Beauty, I’m coming to catch you~”

Mitia, who was listening to Anna report on the pursuit of criminals who had fled overseas, heard this B-level commotion and could not help but have a # pop on her forehead. Anna also stopped speaking and silently retreated into the small partitioned bedroom to hide.

That was right—it was the hatchling killer, Funika.

At first, when she heard that the Witch Race had sent over a powerhouse even stronger than Aisha to protect her, Mitia had been quite happy. Now she felt that she had probably been deceived~

The figure floating around her study with its eyes blindfolded—no matter how she looked at it, it seemed like a pervert exiled to her place by the Witch Race.

Back then, when Sherria heard the other party’s infamous name, she packed her bags overnight and left, saying she was going to stay in the United Kingdom of Suria for a while.

Even Aisha had run off to the Alliance’s air force base to dogfight with the latest air-superiority monoplane fighters. Only she had nowhere to run.

Floating in midair, Funika’s nose twitched. She turned and flew straight toward Mitia, revealing a subtle smile on her face: “So the beauty was here all along~”

“Let me take a nibble.”

Her body was still where it was, yet her spiritual avatar had already burst forth and pounced toward Mitia, who sat upright.

Just like before, the Witch’s crystal barriers, mental power, divine arts, and so on could not stop Funika’s approach. But when the distance between them was almost negative, a faint golden glow flowed around Mitia’s body, preventing Funika from breaking through for a long time.

Clinging to the outside of the golden glow, Funika opened her cherry-like small mouth and, just as she had said, took a bite, producing a series of squeaking sounds that made Mitia frown.

After circling around without finding a breakthrough point, Funika seemed somewhat discouraged and weakly straddled Mitia’s thighs, revealing the exposed outfit beneath her black robe. It looked as if she wanted to melt entirely into Mitia’s embrace, her fair little feet occasionally swaying.

However, all of this was useless. The golden glow only grew brighter, pushing her out of Mitia’s arms. Her spiritual body was forced back, and Funika’s whole body trembled before she fell from midair, landing on the carpet with a啪叽, sitting like a duck.

“Tch! I hate you sovereigns the most.”

Funika sprawled directly onto the floor in a shameless manner. On the surface, it looked like she had given up, but in reality she was still intentionally or unintentionally displaying her excellent figure, trying to infect Mitia’s mind.

Mitia tidied up the clothes that had been messed up, crossed her legs, and propped her cheek with her hand as she leisurely watched the performance: “Sister Funika, your figure isn’t as good as mine~”

‘Ahhhhh!!! What did you say?!’

Funika flipped over and sat up. Because of the exertion, the scant fabric on her body tightened, outlining every rise and curve of her figure with absolute clarity.

She puffed out her cheeks and glared at Mitia. But after the half-spheres emphasized by that exertion just now, Mitia could confirm through visual estimation that Funika indeed did not have a better figure than her~

If it were a male emperor, seeing such scenes would probably affect his mind at least somewhat, tempting him to peer further through the gaps—and that would mean falling into Funika’s trap.

Girls would probably be either startled or shy at such bold style and attire, inevitably experiencing some psychological fluctuation.

Once there was a void for her to manifest a clone in the inner world, that would be disastrous. Forget tentacles—even if she turned into a huge “treasure” and stuffed it in you, you would still have to endure it.

But Mitia’s way of thinking was simply different from ordinary people. Everyone else was looking at how deep it was—only she was comparing whose was bigger~

That could not really be blamed on her.

She could not get hard anyway. At most, she could take a little advantage with her hands and that was it. There was no way she could generate any meaningful physiological desire. Treating it as a bit of entertainment was about all.

Compared to that, little-loli cute things could instead arouse in her a sense of affection like raising a small pet—at least more effective than seduction of any kind.

Funika’s talent was extremely troublesome. In a one-on-one situation, almost no one could escape her all-pervasive intrusion. She could multitask, wreaking havoc in your mental world while her external body could autonomously fight.

Called one-on-one, it was actually one against two. And if her Demon Race necromantic summoning ability was added on top, it became a straightforward case of a whole group dueling you alone.

But this move basically had no effect on sovereign emperors and rulers of nations.

There was a special kind of protection on them, similar to national fortune. It had no combat use and could not be used as a shield against magic or weapons, but it could enforce the host’s autonomous will at the level of rules.

That meant that as long as Mitia did not want it, unless the nation fell and the land shattered, Funika’s special abilities would absolutely be unable to take effect on her.

“Had enough fooling around? Let’s go. Come with me to the training base.”

‘I’m not going!’

“I have even sexier outfits and various props here. Maybe… you could put together a set that actually interests me?”

‘Where?! Let’s go, let’s go!’

Watching Funika drag her along in a hurry, eager to finish business and change into new clothes, the corner of Mitia’s lips lifted slightly.

Although this woman looked like a hopeless lewd creature no matter how one looked at her, seemingly capable of nothing but selling her looks.

But Mitia would not be fooled by her appearance. Funika’s ability to summon skeletons and undead armies, as well as her skill at forcibly extracting souls and bones, were things Mitia wanted to study carefully.

Especially that necromantic summoning technique that could be called the ultimate shameless art. Apart from desecrating the resting dead on the spot, it could also open interspatial dimensional arrays to drive undead from other dimensions into the real world to fight.

With corpses, she summoned corpses. Without corpses, she could damn well haul corpses over herself and then summon them. She had never seen anyone play this dirty.

However, Funika’s art was quite afraid of holy light magic. It was not a matter of light-versus-dark opposition, but rather that the holy light magic of believers carried a certain effect of soothing souls.

She could drive corpses, and naturally corpses could also be soothed back into continued slumber. One increase and one decrease amplified the difficulty and consumption for Demon Race types like Funika to control the undead.

There was nothing particularly special about the training base—nothing more than testing grounds for active-duty or near-active-duty weapons~

‘Da-da-da…’

Several soldiers held AK-47s and frantically pulled the triggers at the surging sea of skeletons charging forward. As long as the soldiers hit were not struck in critical areas, they could still continue advancing.

Compared to the tens of thousands of skeletons, such minor losses were completely negligible. At that moment, the distinctive continuous firing sound of the PKM general-purpose machine gun rang out. Skeletons fell in大片, like wheat being harvested.

Finally, the DShK opened fire with ferocity. Every round that entered the skeleton sea kicked up a large rain of bones. The skeletons hit exploded outward from the point of impact, leaving huge holes, with even half their bodies disappearing on the spot.

Corpses other than skeletons were somewhat more troublesome to deal with. After a corpse was shot to pieces, a skeleton could still crawl out from inside and continue fighting, though the trouble it caused was limited.

After watching, Mitia nodded slightly. As long as the power of modern weapons was not reduced by some hanging-rail interference, there was no need to worry when encountering other Demon Race alliances next time.

Heavy machine guns alone could handle it. She had not even tested flamethrower troops, rocket launchers, or support artillery yet—the latter should produce an even greater exchange ratio.

‘Are there many Demon Race members who can reach your level?’

Hearing Mitia’s question, Funika shook her head. “How could it be that easy? Basically, I’m the only one who can reach this level.”

“Don’t think that summoning skeletons and undead is simple. Although most low-level fodder skeletons and undead don’t cost me much energy, corpses and skeletons themselves are relatively hard to find~”

“Other Demon Race members absolutely can’t casually push out tens of thousands or even tens of thousands of skeleton seas like I can~”

‘Then you?’

“Me? I was just lucky. I… picked up a dead otherworld~”

‘Otherworld?!’

“Yes. It was a dead otherworld. Apart from seeing corpses scattered everywhere, I never found a single living being again.”
