Chapter 979: Chapter 977: Adjustments to the New Village

Although Gu Xi was full of curiosity about the Orange-Clad White Bone Obelisk, in the end, he did not leave with Wang Yongshou.

His reason was rather straightforward; he was afraid that he might not return if he went.

Despite Wang Yongshou’s repeated assurances, Gu Xi’s disagreement left Wang Yongshou with no way to force him to go.

In the end, Wang Yongshou left with a handful of black ash.

As he left, his eyes bore an expression suggesting that Gu Xi didn’t know what he was missing out on.

However, fortunately, Wang Yongshou was still filled with guilt in his heart, and as Gu Xi refused to see the Orange-Clad Obelisk, he already began contemplating how to compensate Gu Xi.

And Gu Xi was not aware of this.

After seeing off the inexplicable Wang Yongshou, Gu Xi began selecting a suitable site near the Rotten Forest to build a village.

From the previous conversation, Gu Xi had already learned some facts.

The greatest target in this world was the third elder of the Fusion Association.

Now the third elder was dead.

Next, this world would return to normal.

Now is the time to take some advantage, rather than wait for who knows when.

Moreover, Wang Yongshou’s attitude earlier was obviously problematic.

Although Gu Xi didn’t know why Wang Yongshou had such a guilty expression towards him, it didn’t prevent Gu Xi from leveraging this mentality to stir things up.

After Wang Yongshou left, Gu Xi discreetly shifted his plans for constructing the new village a bit further out.

To include a Crystal Ore and a rather special mine.

A Holy Stone Ore.

This Holy Stone Ore was somewhat similar to the Dragon Blood Crystal and Dragon Steel Gu Xi previously acquired.

The Holy Stones produced are quite special materials.

These Holy Stones are meant for the Witch Demon, adding them to the Witch Demon Life Box grants it strong resistance to Holy Light.

It can be said that with these Holy Stones, a Witch Demon can directly become immune to Holy Light Magic.

As for other units, it has actually been tested as well.

But the Skeleton Soldiers, Zombies, Ghosts, and Vampires simply have no place to put such Holy Stones.

Especially Ghosts, adding such Holy Stones causes their bodies to become fixed.

Many of the Ghosts’ traits disappear completely.

Those ghosts become nothing more than flying stones, rendering them useless.

As for adding Holy Stones to the Death Knight’s armor, this idea has been considered.

However, consider the size of a Witch Demon’s Life Box compared to Death Knight’s armor.

Adding that many Holy Stones would definitely reduce the armor’s other attributes.

This also makes it unfeasible, therefore this excellent item is only suitable for the Witch Demon.

Of course, if the output of Holy Stones is high, they can be mixed with stone for city construction.

Yet so far, Gu Xi has not heard of any player being this wasteful.

At first, Gu Xi did not focus on this Holy Stone Ore.

But now that Wang Yongshou backed down, Gu Xi knew where the bottom line was.

Things like Dragon Blood Crystal and Dragon Steel related to the Bone Dragon are hard to snatch, but why not something that enhances the Witch Demon?

Seize it.

Soon after Wang Yongshou left, without a word, Gu Xi led his troops to occupy the Holy Stone Ore.

At the same time, he also rearranged the previously chosen location, moving forward about fifty li.

This time, the new place was surrounded by trees.

Completely unlike the Ring Fort Village before, which was surrounded by open fields.

However, Gu Xi didn’t mind any of this.

When he arrived, Gu Xi had already surveyed some of the nearby conditions.

There is a road here leading to the direction of the Jiaolong Blood Castle, with three other roads branching in different directions.

Since Gu Xi did not have a proper map, he wasn’t sure if these roads led to villages or in-game areas controlled by powers.

Gu Xi simply found the location to be quite suitable.

If he blocks this place, anyone wishing to go towards the Jiaolong Blood Castle must pass through here.

However, this place was somewhat different from his previous choice.

The surroundings are all wooded.

The entire area lacks any natural defenses.

In establishing a village here, Gu Xi had to prepare for potential attacks.

Faced with this situation, Gu Xi didn’t hesitate much.

Setting aside the location, it’s quite advantageous as a transportation hub.

After a quick glance at the surroundings, Gu Xi immediately approached the largest tree in this forest.

Once again, he took out the Architectural Design Plan for the Energy Core.

Liu Yingguang had these things aplenty, having always sent Gu Xi this kind of thing.

This time, however, Liu Yingguang did not prepare resources for Gu Xi.

But Gu Xi didn’t mind; his materials didn’t require special transportation.

Standing before the big tree, Gu Xi first buried the Energy Core beneath it.

Then Gu Xi pointed near the big tree, and out came the Steel City Gate.

The Undead in Yalidu City had been ready for everything; as they emerged from the Steel City Gate, they immediately took out various tools and began chopping down nearby trees.

Meanwhile, large quantities of stone and various rare resources were being brought out.

Several architects under Gu Xi also came forth, assisting Gu Xi in designing the new village before them.

Especially since this time Gu Xi changed the location and partially altered the village’s functions, many initially planned items could no longer be used.

Thus, the architects needed to come out to make temporary adjustments, at minimum ensuring there were no problems with the village ahead.

With the support of incoming materials, Gu Xi’s actions proceeded smoothly.

After investing a batch of wood and stone into the recently buried Energy Core, numerous vines began to grow from beneath the tree.

These vines naturally wound around branches and the trunk, quickly forming into planks and creating a wooden house exuding an Undead style.

The reason the wooden house appeared so Undead-like was entirely due to the numerous black dolls hung around it.

The existence of these dolls perplexed Gu Xi; why would the construction here be so wild?

The Assembly Hall design he had just placed down wasn’t supposed to be in this style.

Puzzled by the situation, Gu Xi was reminded by an architect beside him.

”Sir, now is not the time to ponder this; you need to place everything you intended to put in. If we don’t, adjusting after the Assembly Hall’s completion will become cumbersome.”

Snapping to realization, Gu Xi swiftly placed all the recently adjusted Architectural Design Plans inside.

Once he placed this batch of design plans inside, a ”ding” sounded at his ear.

[You are constructing a village, please name this village.]
