At Screaming Castle, the forest which had calmed down started to twist uncontrollably.

The sharp noise made Gu Xi feel a bit uneasy.

After reaching the outskirts of Screaming Castle, Gu Xi didn’t think much and directly headed towards the city wall of the castle, with no intention of using the sewer at the moat.

As Gu Xi approached, the trees on the mountain twisted as if trying to frighten and stop him from approaching.

But leading a large army, Gu Xi ignored all this.

He approached the position he had initially chosen, raised his hand, and the main city gate mounted directly onto Screaming Castle.

Just as Gu Xi expected, although Screaming Castle was covered with a lot of soil, with various trees and even some strange things growing on it, Gu Xi ignored all of it.

The main city gate locked into place, even pushing some of the soil and trees aside with the city wall on the gate.

Once the city gate was open, Gu Xi could see the interior of Screaming Castle.

Because it had been abandoned for a long time, the inside of the castle was void of life. The stone ceiling had numerous tree roots hanging down, and on these roots hung many corpses.

No one knew how long these bodies had been hanging there, as when Gu Xi arrived, they had already become mummified.

But Gu Xi could immediately tell that these corpses were once the main strength among the vampires.

”Take down those bodies.”

While arranging the troops to enter Screaming Castle, Gu Xi ordered.

The Ghost Squad, transformed into White Impermanence, was tasked with handling these corpses.

Just as they were about to take the bodies down from the roots, the roots twisted slightly.

”Shoot!”

Gu Xi commanded decisively, and Blaise, following him, raised his hand, unleashing a rain of arrows into the roots.

The bodies still hanging on the roots were also hit, filled with numerous arrows.

Under this wave of arrow rain, the roots stopped moving.

Gu Xi spat once.

”I really hate these tree-like monsters the most. Ghost Squad, cut down all these roots.”

Under Gu Xi’s order, the Ghost Squad moved quickly, grabbing and tearing down the roots.

Meanwhile, without needing more instructions from Gu Xi, a large Undead Corps charged along visible paths into the depths.

Leading the way was Gu Xi’s subordinate hero, Mido, who had mastery in the Pathfinding Skill, making him suitable for finding key locations in such an environment.

Additionally, more than ten other heroes who were tools of Gu Xi came with their units, entering the castle in batches.

After arranging his troops, Gu Xi began to examine the interior of the castle before him.

As the castle had collapsed when it was abandoned, there was not much dust inside.

The hall before him was roughly the size of three large blocks, surrounded by various stairs and big doors leading to different places.

Since the interior had not yet been fully explored, Gu Xi was not in a hurry to enter but carefully observed the part he could see, calculating how he would operate the Screaming Castle ahead.

Demolishing Screaming Castle and rebuilding a village would be the lowest choice.

Even building a village in the mountain forest on the ground would be better than this option.

However, at this moment, Gu Xi had the idea of whether he could reactivate Screaming Castle.

If possible, Screaming Castle would surpass Blood Sacrifice Ridge, becoming the most important outpost under Gu Xi.

But Gu Xi was still a bit unsure if Screaming Castle had any important assets left behind.

Just as Gu Xi was pondering, sounds of battle came from afar.

Gu Xi looked up towards the direction of the sound.

”What’s going on?”

”Discovered a still operating barracks-type building, with a large number of troops inside.”

Hearing this, Gu Xi’s eyes lit up; there were still operating barracks?

This indicated that the energy of Screaming Castle was not completely cut off.

”Let’s go check it out. Kaga and Die Bone, stay here and guard the path out of Screaming Castle.”

Gu Xi led his elite troops swiftly towards the source of the sound.

After bypassing a staircase ahead, Gu Xi saw the battle location.

The battle involved three squads of Skeleton Soldiers, led by three Skeleton Bosses, initially checking each room to see if there was anything to take.

But they never expected that behind a door they opened was an armor workshop.

Here, a kind of dark red full-body plate armor with many patterns could be crafted.

This armor looked like it was something nobles would use for display inside city gates.

But here, it was a special barracks.

At the back of the workshop, there was a large pool still holding half a pool of blood water. The finished full set of armor was finally soaked in the pool. When the armor’s color changed from dark red to scarlet, it would be pulled out of the pool and transported away.

Yet some armors, regardless of how long they soaked, remained dark red. After soaking for a period, they would be dragged out and set aside.

Such armors often developed spirituality, turning into movable and combat-ready armored soldiers.

Their level was roughly at Level 6.

Their combat power was ordinary, only holding out a few hits against Skeleton Soldiers, and if blunt weapons hit them, it was a severe blow, sometimes dismantling them with one hit.

As the armor disassembled, red liquid flowed out from within them.

Evidently, these were a type of unit similar to Ghost Knights.

As Gu Xi observed the battle here, the fight was nearing its end.

Even though the barracks were still operational, the number of dark red armor that came out to fight wasn’t large.

Only around a hundred, surrounded by Skeleton Soldiers, dismantled by three to five strikes.

Soon, all the enemies here were killed.

When the Skeleton Bosses rushed into the barracks before him, there was a ding sound in Gu Xi’s ear.
