Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Gao Tianwu looked at Zhang Yi with eyes full of earnest pleading. These eyes were saturated with defiance against Fate and a burning desire to climb higher.

He did not want to miss this opportunity.

If he missed Zhang Yi today, he might never again in his lifetime come into contact with someone of this level.

The Frog beside him stared at him with a dumbfounded expression, as if saying: What does this have to do with me?

Zhang Yi raised an eyebrow. ”You?”

The Cockroach Swarm problem in Tianhai City had given even Zhang Yi a headache, forcing him to borrow experts from Blizzard City to solve it.

And this superhuman before him didn’t seem to have any particularly special abilities.

He didn’t have elite troops or powerful generals under his command either. What gave him the confidence to make such a bold claim?

Relying on that frog next to him?

Zhang Yi smiled. ”Why should I believe you?”

Gao Tianwu’s eyes lit up, and he hurriedly said, ”If the Village Chief Frog and I join forces, we have a way to deal with them! Although those bugs are numerous, the Village Chief is their natural nemesis.”

”My brothers and I can also contribute. As long as you can give us a bowl of rice to eat, we will definitely completely eradicate Tianhai City’s insect infestation!”

Zhang Yi lowered his eyelids.

”Alright, I can give you such an opportunity.”

Anyway, he wasn’t in a hurry right now. Giving Gao Tianwu a chance wouldn’t hurt.

Even if they failed, Zhang Yi wouldn’t lose anything. At most, he’d just give them some supplies.

But if Gao Tianwu and his men succeeded...

Then perhaps Zhang Yi would have to consider properly training them and strengthening Tianhai City’s military defenses.

Zhang Yi then said to Gao Tianwu, ”I will give you ample food, cold-weather supplies, and weapons. Ten days, just as you said. Let’s see what you can accomplish!”

Gao Tianwu was overjoyed. ”Thank you, Mr. Zhang! I will spare no effort to solve Tianhai City’s insect infestation for you!”

Zhang Yi gave a faint smile. ”We’ll see it in the results.”

The group turned to head back to Gaoyuan Village.

But the Frog, looking utterly confused, said to Gao Tianwu, ”Ribbit! Little Wu, although we have a pretty good relationship, shouldn’t you have asked for my opinion on this matter first?”

Gao Tianwu hurriedly said to the Frog, ”Don’t you love eating cockroaches? This time you can eat until you’re full, even stockpile enough food for several years. What’s bad about that?”

”Besides, take a look at those two.”

Gao Tianwu gestured with his eyes towards Zhang Yi and Liang Yue.

”Their strength is unfathomable. It’s best we be sensible and cooperate with them. If we refuse a toast only to be forced to drink a forfeit, wouldn’t that be asking for trouble?”

”Ribbit?”

The Frog scratched his big head thoughtfully. ”It seems what you say makes sense, ribbit!”

Zhang Yi and the others returned to Gaoyuan Village and entered Gao Tianwu’s house.

From a distance, Zhang Yi could see the villagers sneakily peeking in this direction.

He smiled indifferently, then directly opened his Dimensional Space and took out a massive amount of supplies, quickly piling them into a small mountain in the room.

This miraculous method left Gao Tianwu and the Frog staring dumbfounded.

The Frog exclaimed in delight, ”Ribbit! This is amazing! You must be a magician, right?”

Zhang Yi smiled. ”This is a superhuman ability. Since you’ve turned into a frog, you should know that after mutation, people gain miraculous powers.”

The Frog said, ”Wow, but a power as miraculous as yours, I’m seeing for the first time, ribbit ribbit!”

Gao Tianwu glanced at the floor. The quantity of supplies was enormous.

Cold-weather supplies, weapons and ammunition, and a large amount of food.

Although he had asked for ten days’ worth of supplies, what Zhang Yi gave him was enough to last over half a month.

Gao Tianwu’s heart was instantly touched. He knew he had found the right person.

Zhang Yi wasn’t a harsh, overbearing big shot. On the contrary, he was quite generous.

But he didn’t know that Zhang Yi was only generous to those who had value to him.

If Gao Tianwu hadn’t demonstrated sufficient value, Zhang Yi wouldn’t have wasted any time or supplies on him at all.

”I’ll leave everything from now on to you to solve. Ten days from now, I will inspect your results.”

After saying this, Zhang Yi turned and left with the others. From start to finish, he didn’t ask a single question about Gao Tianwu’s action plan.

If you considered him the client, he only cared about the results the contractor delivered. He absolutely would not interfere with the process.

Gao Tianwu gazed in the direction Zhang Yi had departed, his right hand tightly gripping a bag of bread. Then, with a *rip* sound, he tore open the packaging and stuffed large mouthfuls into his mouth.

He had to restore his physical strength and replenish the superhuman energy he had expended during the day in the shortest time possible.

Then, together with his brothers, complete this big job!

”As long as I can complete the task Mr. Zhang gave me, perhaps I can leave Gaoyuan Village and go to the urban area of Tianhai City!”

”If I can become his subordinate, I’ll have the chance to rise high and prosper in the future!”

He chewed the food in large bites, but he didn’t forget to take food and drink to his injured brothers.

The Frog looked at Gao Tianwu and said helplessly, ”The insect disaster in Tianhai City seems to be quite severe. I could hear those bugs chirping underground even while I was sleeping.”

”Heh, isn’t that just perfect? If it were an easy problem to solve, it wouldn’t be our turn to handle it! Frog, you absolutely have to help me this time!”

Gao Tianwu said seriously, looking at the Frog.

”Ribbit! Of course, after all, there are sooooo many delicious things. I won’t miss this opportunity either!”

The Frog picked up a bag of chicken legs from the floor, tore it open, and directly tossed it into his big mouth, then swallowed it with relish.

”Crunchy, tastes like cockroach!”

The Frog gave a thumbs up, even though he only had three fingers now.

...

After Zhang Yi returned to the Shelter, he told his family about the interesting things he encountered in Gaoyuan Village.

Everyone was very curious about the guy who turned into a frog, but they expressed great doubt about whether they could solve the Cockroach Swarm problem.

After all, even Zhang Yi had to seek help from experts in Blizzard City.

”Moreover, there’s someone behind all this manipulating everything.”

Yang Xinxin twirled a strand of her hair with her finger and said calmly, ”But if they really turn out to be talented people, we can recruit them to work for us. After all, talented individuals in Tianhai City are far too scarce now.”

Zhang Yi nodded. ”That’s what I was thinking too. Anyway, it’s just spending a tiny bit of supplies. Consider it playing a game!”

At this time in Tianhai City, the second wave of the Cockroach Swarm outbreak had just been suppressed not long ago.

New mutants had already begun to appear.

Without a doubt, there was someone behind this planning the whole thing.

Zhang Yi was testing their patience against his, seeing who would lose patience first and make a move.

At this time, one absolutely must not be impatient. Otherwise, it would be like shadowboxing, all that strength with nowhere to land a blow.
