Lord Shadow

Chapter 1883: Breakfast With A God

”Would he be honest with me if I told him everything I know?” Azief mutters to himself but then he chuckles.

He shakes his head.

”No, he would not. He has his own plans. Whether I know or not, it probably does not matter to him. Not at this point. It is just that I know some of the things he had hidden and he would know what I know”

Azief sighed as he stops looking outside the window. It is not like there is anything to see. He decided to wash himself and it did not take long for him to wash himself and get ready

Then he got out of his room.

He walks himself to the dining room. All the while, he is thinking about a lot of things.

Loki. That is one person he had to meet. Katarina....should she know? And he shakes his head.

”Cause and effect would be established. And once she knows, others would also know. It is like the saying of the abyss looking at you if you stare at it long enough”

Katarina should knows somethings and somethings should not be spoken of until the right moment. Some things are taboo that it is better for her to not know about it until it is time

”But Katarina and Boris.....” he could not help but sighed.

One of the things Wargod told him is about Katarina.

He knows the general outline but not the whole story.

From what Wargod told him it was because he did not really pay attention to him in that other timeline. Hence there are many things that he did not know.

Yes, Wargod told him about a deleted timeline.

A timeline where Loki had come from.

Wargod only knows a few big things.

But what is considered big things by him and by Wargod might be different

And Wargod himself acknowledges that he does not know much in detail about his life. What he do knows is was his life final destination

He knows how it begins and how it will end.

And that is the story that Wargod told him.

The beginning of it all...and the End of it All and what role he plays in the Epilogue of All Creation

He arrived in the dining hall room with all of these thoughts and all of this plan that is changing repeatedly in his mind

Right until he is inside the room. But once he enters the room, he tries to keep these thoughts on the back of his mind

Wargod is already eating.

On its plate is something that is wriggling. It looks like a squid like things

”Is that squid?”

”Squid?” Wargod look at the tentacle things on his plate and try to recall something called squid and he remembered about the creatures on Earth

”Ah, it does look like the squid on Earth, isn’t it?”

Wargod chuckles a bit.

”The squid might be the descendant of these things.” Wargod said.

Azief heard it , make sense of it and he understood. This thing is not squid. It must be some kind of beast that is not squid but look like beats.

Azief did heard that there is some theories that said that squid does not originate from earth.

Azief doesn’t really know the truth about the matter nor did he really care.

If there is anyone that cares about such thing in Earth, that would only be the Order of Thinkers

”I did ask some of my servants to serve you something that is from Earth”

Azief nodded as he takes his seat on the other end of the table.

The table for the dining hall is very long.

There is a rectangle long table in the middle of the dining hall. It is nine feet in length. And there is only two chairs, each one is on the other end

Azief at first wanted to ask why there is a need for such a long table.

But when he looks at the arrangement of the table, the length he somehow felt like it has some kind of meaning.

There is a reason why it is nine feet long, why there is only two chairs and why it is on the center of the room

Like some kind of sacred harmony that keep everything together. Bringing harmony to the room. That is what he felt. And it is a weird feeling to feel.

Azief sat down. The moment he sits down the door on the side opens and there is a man with the head of a wolf but standing upright like humans.

No, to be more exact it is a werewolf.

Though Azief doubt that this being is really called a werewolf. He wears a suit and wears pants. But he has furs and he looks like a wolf.

”This?”

”Ah, meet Argos”

”Argos?”

”At your service, my lords. Dinner is prepared and ready to be served at your convenience”

”A wolf?”

Wargod smiles and gesture with his fingers.

Argos nodded and then goes to the side door and the servants began serving the food on his side of the table.

Even though Azief and Wargod is separated nine feet from each other, they could talk like they were beside each other.

It is just a matter of tunnelling the sound to the other ears. Not a had thing to do when they are conversing with each other

”He is cursed by some Witch in some swamps. I met him on my journey. He and I have some fate so I brought him here” Wargod did not explain much and Azief nodded.

But he explain enough for Azief to understand some things

The only reason Azief ask is because he thought that this wolf might be some more cryptic message that Wargod is trying to tell him

But from Wargod attitude it is easy to see that this has nothing to do with him and is Wargod problem to deal with.

Azief look at the dishes in front of him and it really looks like a dish on Earth

There is rice, chicken, spicy gravy ranging from curry to chilli gravy to vegetable soups. There is also dessert and puddings.

Azief did not need to eat.

But now when food from his planet could be seen, Azief decided to take a bite.

It made him familiar in an instant. There is many things that could invoke the feeling of familiarity. Food is one of them

He did not lose his table manner but he does eat it with gusto.

After a while, he is finished eating.

Being full is not something that he now have the luxury of feeling. It is more like he is not hungry.

But he is not full either.

So, when he eats he takes note of all the spices, all of the aromas , all of the tastes.

When you reached their level, eating is like appreciating art. Appreciating every part of the food, whether it be salty, sweet or sour or spicy

Like a higher sense of appreciation and a higher sense of concentration of everything.

Unless you break through the realms, you could not understand this feeling of being very connected to your moment, every moment

Azief also notices that even though the food ingredient does come from Earth, the food itself contains some kind of energy

It helps nourish him and it helps give him even more energy than just by absorbing it. Is this reason why some beings even after reaching a high realm still eats? Azief thought to himself.

Because he had seen people stronger than him still eats. Wargod did take this ingredients al from Earth.

But it is clearly not his Earth.

Azief would know, if this come from his Earth.

There is a kind of energy signature that could be consumed when eating ingredients that come from his earth.

And he finished eating.

”It is very nice.” He mutters

At the same time, Wargod has also finished eating and is just sipping his drink every once in a while.

Argos leave the dining room and now in the room , there is only Azief and Wargod. There is silence between them and then Azief sighed

Wargod look at him and then ask

”What do you think about what I told you?”

Azief sighed again. Wargod did not urge him for an answer. Instead, he took a sip of his drink giving Azief time to think how to answer.

And he does have an answer. It just take some time to organize this answer in his mind

”I wanted to deny it at first. It is not something I want to accept. I wanted to believe that you wanted to lie to me. But.....after thinking about it, after all of the effort, and after I make sense of it all, I doubt you did all of this just to give such lie”

Wargod did not say anything to this.

He knew how shocking it is to hear what he had to hear.

It is not something anyone should be burdened with.

It is not that he has gone sentimental.

But because he had seen many things.

Wargod himself had also seen what his race has lacked and what the other living creature has.

He would not pretend that he is compassionate and good, but he also learns a lot in his years.

Regret is not the only thing he had learned after such a long passage of time.

The body might age but the soul is immortal. It is even more for the Etherna.
